Lady Chen and Liu Longwei looked at themselves with their eyes asking, 'What just happened?'. Still with Chen Lihua in their thoughts, they immediately hurried after her.

They came out to the living room only to see Chen Lihua already munching an apple and the maid who served her leaving already.

Lady Chen and Liu Longwei glanced at themselves in surprise before sitting on the sofa. Lady Chen sat on a different sofa while Liu Longwei sat on the same sofa as Chen Lihua. But he didn't sit too close to her as he was afraid of getting on her nerves.

While munching on her Apple, Chen Lihua looked at her mother and husband while glaring at them. Her glare was meant to serve as a warning, as If to say, 'Let me see between you two, who would dare provoke me now'.

Lady Chen and Liu Longwei were not ignorant of that gaze as they fully understood what it meant. So for in other for peace to reign, they could only respect themselves as they patiently watched Chen Lihua finish the Apple.

The same maid that served her the fruit returned with a bowl of water for Chen Lihua to wash her hands with.

Seeing that she was done wiping her hands, Liu Longwei said to Lady Chen, "Mum, am planning to arrange a little get together with the whole Liu family in other to introduce Chen Lihua to them. So am thinking it would be a good opportunity for the two families to get together as well. So why don't you invite the people from the Chen family and relatives as well?".

Chen Lihua looked at him before bringing out a liquid hand sanitizer to sanitize her hands, as if she wasn't interested in what he was saying, and as if she wasn't the person all these arrangements were being made for.

But nobody payed any attention to her as they were really discussing an important matter.

"That's a good suggestion. It would be good for your families and relatives to interact with Lihua before the wedding, so that during the wedding, the situation or ceremony won't be awkward. And it's also a good suggestion for both families to meet and interact as well, it would go a long way". Lady Chen said with all smiles as she was very satisfied with this son-in-law of hers, and the good suggestion he came up with.

"Thank you. I will be taking Chen Lihua to visit the Liu Villa in a two days time, so my father and grandparents could see her since they haven't seen her in person before. Then two weeks before our traditional marriage, the two families would see each other". Liu Longwei explained seriously.

The serious expression on his face showed that he really took his marriage with Chen Lihua of high importance, and so he was really putting effort to ensure that everything went smoothly, and for that, Lady Chen was really happy that her daughter has found someone that would take care of her all her life.

With all smiles, Lady Chen now remembered her daughter, and so turned to look at her to see if she was paying attention. But her facial expression darkened when she saw her supposed paying attention daughter, pressing her phone, and so she glared up immediately.

"Lihua don't tell me you haven't been paying attention to what we've been discussing?".

Chen Lihua looked up from her phone to meet her mother's gaze, "I heard everything, what do you want me to say, it's not like you asked me a question and I didn't answer".

"Even if you heard us, you should at least show some concern. Your husband is doing everything he can to get you to meet his family, but you're not showing any response, that's bad of you". Lady Chen said, very dissapointed in her.

"It is his responsibility to ensure that I meet his family, before our wedding. So what do you want me to say about that?. My attitude right now seems like am being rude, but I know that am not being rude in any way. How do you expect me to say something when Longwei was obviously looking and talking to you, it's not like am a statue that would keep watching you two when I have other things to do. Besides, since he has made plans for everything without telling me even up until now, all I have to do is to comply since I heard him telling you about it this moment". Chen Lihua said angrily.

If you listened very well, you would notice that there was a tinge of jealousy in Chen Lihua's tone.

"You....you....". Lady Chen stuttered while pointing at Chen Lihua, as she was too angry to know what to say again.

She was indeed very angry as the human being she was talking to, had all her attention focused on her phone.

Seeing that the situation has come to this level and that the mother and daughter were about to start quarreling, Liu Longwei had to stop Lady Chen, as it was the right thing to do.

There was no way he would allow them to quarrel when he was in their presence, so he stopped lady Chen by diverting her attention.

"Mom we are about to leave, so I would have to trouble you to get Lihua's car key for me".

Lady Chen was stunned for a moment at Liu Longwei's request, as she wasn't expecting anyone to cut her words and actions short at the moment. So could only bring her hand down.

In another way, she understood the reason. She knew that Liu Longwei didn't want them to quarrel, and also gave her the opportunity to back off from the upcoming quarrel, honourably.

She was happy once again, but once she looked at her daughter, the smile disappeared from her face.

Lady Chen stood up to go upstairs and get the car key. But as she was walking past Chen Lihua, she flicked her forehead with force without stopping in her steps, and so she was able to get away quickly.

Since Chen Lihua's focus was on her phone, hence, she didn't see her mother walking past her as her attention was on her phone.

So when she felt the sting on her forehead, she exclaimed in pain, "Ah!" before looking up to find the culprit, and which was her mother, who was already walking away, so she screamed in anger, "Mum!".

The only response she got back was a 'Shut up', before she was able to see her mother's back again.
