Seeing her mother walking away, Chen Lihua sighs. She's just 22 years old. The only genuine reason she agreed to this marriage was that she trusts her mother's judgment.

Her parent's marriage gave her negative feelings. Her father didn't treat her mother well. You can as well say her father has no respect for women.

Her father used to insult, punish and flog her mother with his belt. She watched all this while growing up and this gave her a slight psychological trauma.

Because of her parent's marriage, she started to think about her future husband. She already had in mind that if her future husband should for one day lay his hands on her, that will be the end of the marriage but if he refuses to divorce her, she will kill him by poisoning him to death.

Lihua recalls the story her paternal grandmother told her about her father.

Lihua's father once slapped his mother(her paternal grandmother) when she(paternal grandmother) hit him on his arm because he was beating his only sister.

Lihua was very young when this incident happened and she remembered bits of it but she taught who her father slapped was her aunty, aunt Lin not knowing it was her grandmother. So, she was shocked when her grandmother retold the story and found out her grandmother was slapped instead of her Aunt.

Chen Lihua concluded that' If a man could slap his mother, beat his biological sister, what more would he do when gets married? he will eventually mistreat his wife and children'.

So, after learning of her father's past she wasn't surprised anymore about his character. She didn't cry at her father's burial, but she was secretly happy as she taught that no one will ever torture her mother again.

"Young Miss" Chen Lihua pulls herself out of her thoughts as she looks up to see the housekeeper aunt Zin' looking at her.. "dinner is ready and has been set on the dining table for you". Chen Lihua smiles "Aunt Zin thank you". "No troubles young miss" aunt Zin smiles and leaves with the glass cup left by Madam Chen on the table.

Chen Lihua leaves the living room and goes to the dining room 5 seconds after Aunt Zin left the living room.

Chen Lihua sits on the dining chair and enjoys the meal of Birdnest soup with seafood as per her request. After finishing her dinner, she took the plates to the kitchen and washed them personally. Having done that, she went back to her room to continue working with her laptop.

As a cardiologist, she has to browse to gain more knowledge in other to take care and understand her patient's illnesses and diseases and also to get equipped with more advanced facilities and health care and also for surgeries.

While working on her computer, she hears a strong knock on her door, as if knowing the culprit, the door swings open. "Hua'er are you busy?"

Madam Chen goes into the spacious room with a beautiful yellow painting, she takes a peep to know what Chen Lihua is doing, upon seeing her working on her computer, she knew her Hua'er must be working on something important.

"Hua'er, I forgot to tell you that I gave your contact to Longwei So, he will call you any moment from now so that you too can know more about each other and he will also give you some important information".

"Okay Mum, you can go back to your room and continue chatting with your friends". Chen Lihua stands up from the chair and pushes her mother gently towards the door "and thanks for telling me about it before I supposedly embarrass myself".

After sending her mother outside the door, she shuts her door and locks it sighing in relief.

Outside the door of Chen Lihua's room, madam Chen stood there for a while wondering if she annoyed her daughter for her to be driven out of her room.

After pondering over the little matter for a while, she shakes her head in denial before going back to her room to continue her chat with her friends.

Inside Chen Lihua's room, Chen Lihua goes back to sit on the chair before continuing with her work.

After working for 30 more minutes, she shuts her laptop down standing up, she walks to her little walk-in closet because she doesn't have lots of clothing, she takes a black colored hair net and used it to cover her hair, as it is one of her hair care routine so that her hair won't fall out by the time she wakes up in the morning.

Chen Lihua doesn't joke with her long black silky waist-length hair, as it is of great importance to her and one of the things that complimented beauty.

Chen Lihua walks back to the room, on picking her phone and the file on Liu Longwei from the table, she walks to her bed, pulling the blanket on the bed, she sits down on the bed and covers her legs with it, she then adds another pillow to one she is relaxing her back on and opens the file she stares at the man's face for a while admiring his beauty, she flips over to the next page and starts reading his biography.

While reading the biography, she saw most of his achievements and admired him more.

Immediately she finished going through the file, she stretched her hand and dropped the file on the nightstand before moving the two pillows at her back to the other side of the bed and lalayown covering her body with it.

As soon as her head hits the bed, her phone started ringing. Looking at her phone, she sees the unfamiliar number. She managed to guess who the person is.

Although she gazed at the one with indifference, down her heart, she was anticipating one voice and attitude of the caller.

She accepts the call and hears a deep male voice over the line and it is exactly her type. "Hello am Liu Longwei, am I speaking with Miss Chen Lihua?". "yes, am Chen Lihua" Chen Lihua answers with her natural melodic voice.

On the other side of the line, In Liu Longwei's study, Liu Longwei was tapping a pen continuously on the table while making the call, but on hearing Chen Lihua's melodic voice, his hand which was holding the pen hanged on mid-air for a moment before continuing his previous action.

"How was your day?" the moment those words escaped from Liu Longwei's lips, he regretted it. He started wondering when he became so concerned about other people.

While on Chen Lihua's side, she got surprised by the sudden concern from him, but she still answered him, "My day went smoothly".

"Ok, I called to talk a little with you as we are going to collect our marriage certificate tomorrow even though we don't know each other well enough to get married and this is also our first time speaking with each other, I still taught it was right for me to call. Is that OK with you Miss Chen Lihua?"

If Liu Longwei's assistant, 'assistant Duyi' was there to hear his boss speak so much all at once, he would have checked his boss's temperature to know if he had a high fever and to know if the fever had his brain fried.

But, only Liu Longwei knew the reason he said so much at once. He did that because he felt a little guilty towards Chen Lihua. She is his wife to be and he felt that he should at least explain to her and ask for permission to continue the little discussion.
