Heavenly Monarch Chapter 8

A deep fear was imprinted into my heart when I saw the way I have been on the defensive end since the start of the battle, and it has not even been to a minute since the battle even began.
" Hell no, there is no way I am fighting it out with this beast. You can keep your reward to yourself there is no way I am choosing a mere reward over my life". After making up my mind to flee instead of fighting the beast.
I ran in the opposite direction to get out of it attack range only to see the beast pointing its finger in my direction and spiritual energy seem to be gathering at its fingertip to give it an odd feel to it, sensing the danger that is going to before if I don't act on time. I decided to send a wind slash at the beast to disrupt its channeling only to see the beast stomping the ground which leads to a massive wall rising from the ground to nullify my wind blade before going back to normal but when the wall was going back to the ground I felt all the hairs in my hands standing on ends and I push myself out of the way due to intent. And what came after I left where I was standing was three massive fireballs which exploded leading to a shockwave that came crashing onto me sending me flying 10 km from the portal hence increasing the gap from it.
After struggling to stand on my two, I decided to check my stats to see if the damage was that insane due to the pain being in only to see my health dropping to just 20. I decided to take some health potion to bring it back up and started running forward while releasing wind slash upon wind slash to try and gain some ground against the beast and the beast seem to persist even with So a good deal of wind slash heading its way shows how challenging it if it is to battle with someone who is 4 levels ahead of you.

With no other choice of surviving any attack from the beast, I started running toward the portal again which angered the beast, and it sent ten miniature fireballs at me which sent me flying again but this time the attack actually connected and the damage it did was several times stronger which cause me to spit out a mouthful of blood and also leave my robe in ragged. The good news about the attack was that it sent me flying closer to the portal, not caring about the serious wound in my stomach and the pain I am going through since the portal is already in sight I released the whole energy that is inside me and run at an incredible speed toward the portal.
Seeing that I was not ready to give up even after its mighty attack, the beast set out a devastating lightning attack at me only for me to return the favor with my double wind slash which clashes with the lightening that leads to an explosion that sent me flying directly into the portal.
After falling into the portal, not long after that, the portal disappears and all that was left in the area was the undead ruler.
Meanwhile, inside the portal, Ray was traveling at an insane speed, and where he was being teleported to remain a mystery. With the damage he received from the fight with the undead ruler, Ray was finding it difficult to keep his eyes open while traveling through a bridge made of fury flames that look harmful but do not harm the body.
Having reached his limit and drained of energy, Ray vision became blurry before finally closing and his body continues to drift through the bridge at the same speed

Meanwhile, somewhere each in Vukya Empire, in the Gibson clan courtyard lay a chubby man who seems to be enjoying himself with some foods and jar while some pretty ladies standing not too far from him. With the way they are dressed, they look not too far from being called maids.

" Young master Ellis, the clan head won't be happy to see you are skipping your training," said one of the maids.
" What is the need of my training when am not the one who will be crowned as the next clan head. All I want is to enjoy myself" replied Ellis.
" But young master it is very important for you to learn how to protect yourself in case trouble arises later in the future," said the other maid.
" There is no need to worry about that, besides why do I have you two around me all the time for if not to protect me" replied Ellis while busy eating.
' No matter what we say to this lazy pig, it just seems like he enjoys watching the clan head publishing us for his misdeeds' mutter one of the maid to the other in a voice that only the other party could hear.
While Ellis was busy shoving food into his mouth, the spiritual energy in the surrounding became intense and started converging into turning into a vortex and a body was sent flying towards Ellis and falls on him.
" Young master" seeing their young master being attacked, the maids forward to intercept the attacker only to hear their young master say.
" Can you guys stop worrying and get this stinking snoring pig off me before I suffocate to death"
Hearing their young master annoying voice, sigh in relief before quickly pulling the young man off him. After being freed, Ellis was about to hit the body only to discover that the body that fell on him a moment again was weak and out of energy and the young man seem to be around his age but look skinny like someone whose life force has being drained from him.

Path of Righteousness
What do you desire? What are you afraid of? You run away from one, pursuing the other. Is that all you are? Conquer your fears. Dig to the bottom and confirm, what you really want... ...For you cannot escape suffering and death. You only have a little time. Use it wisely. Uru, a young boy with no talent for magic or fighting, sets out on a quest to become an avatar of order, the physical embodiment of righteousness, in a distant future, where control of origin energy allows people to defy physics and manipulate causality. Mocked by fate and broken by impossible dreams, all that's left is to stand in defiance to cruel existence. Because there is a Truth out there, somewhere. Singular, transcendent, eternal. What would you sacrifice for it? *** This is a fantastic sci-fi epic. It's going to blend both western and eastern traditional fantasy tropes – like might & magic and cultivation – with rational sci-fi grounded fully in reality, to produce a purely fictional fairy tale. I'd like to deliver something light-hearted and yet wholly serious. An uplifting adventure exploring the unfathomable reaches of humanity, free of indecency, with a healthy dose of humorous banter, legendary beings, and most importantly – lots of exciting, firework-filled mayhem! I've tried reading many web novels, but there's a fundamental problem with them – the eastern ones are annoyingly repetitive, superficial and morally destitute, while western ones are often dark, convoluted and profane. There's only so much one can do to filter out the bad and try to fill in the gaps with their own imagination. It's one thing to eat tasty fast food, but if it's moldy and filled with toxins, then it's not only poisonous, but also disgusting. The appreciation of beauty and higher values is disappearing at an alarming rate. Although there are throngs of talented people out there, none of them are creating what I want to witness – an inspiring battle against impossible odds, ending in absolute victory. A triumph of the spirit so overwhelming, it crushes the spectator into his seat and takes his breath away. I'm looking for a real paragon, so now I'd like to try conceiving one. *** The MC's name comes from Tolkien's Elven dictionary in Silmarillion, 'Uru' meaning 'Fire', and 'Dagnir an Uruloki' meaning 'Slayer of Dragons'. *** Note: I'm neither a native speaker, nor an aficionado of literature – I've never written anything before, and despite proficient English my literary prowess is abysmal. It therefore takes me a painful amount of effort to polish the chapters and bring them up to par. Last year I wrote and posted some on FictionPress, but I stopped since it wasn't going anywhere. The appalling amount of filth and mediocrity being peddled in all the media nowadays – a result of no conspiracy to manipulate the masses, but plain supply and demand – is no longer just the triumph of form over substance, but most worryingly corruption of the latter. Who wants to read about ideals anymore? And yet, masses flock together to gobble up perversion and depravity. That being said, I can't rule out pitiful exposure as the culprit to my failure, so I am now once again trying to increase it here, possibly for the last time. If there are still human beings present, hungry or in need of a detox after eating too much garbage, make yourselves heard, so I can see a reason to continue the story. Otherwise it's pointless – I'm not going to make fodder for the masses, and I'm most certainly not going to throw pearls before swine. I'll simply stop writing altogether.
