Journey Towards Greatness Chapter 22

Julian walks towards the gate and opens it as he enters the proximity of the tower he starts to feel an airy feeling, he looks towards his left and right to find nothing except some nameless tombstones, Cubone also starts to feel scared and tightly holds onto Julian's coat
Julian "This is going to be really troublesome, I hope I am able to find a strong ghost pokemon and of course help Cubone to meet his dead mother's ghost"
He walks towards the building and opens the door which makes a creaking noise, he walks in to find an empty floor, there were some tombstones inside as well but they had names and time of death on them as Julian walks towards one of them he hears a creaking noise to which he turns back to see the doors close shut
Julian 'looks like they started to play their pranks, I have to be very careful they are not aggressive they just want to play but they might sometimes go a little too far while playing their pranks'
Julian 'System scan the tower and tell me the exact number of pokemons present'
System 'Scanning, scanning finished, there are a total of 17 pokemons in the tower'
Julian '17, that's a lot'
Julian "Cubone lets start to search your mother ok"
Cubone nods and doesn't say anything, Julian starts to explore this floor but soon he hears creaking sounds again but this time it's coming from above, he looks up to see a chandelier swinging then it suddenly snaps seeing it coming down towards him he jumps away dodging it completely and see it crashing down onto the floor causing a huge bang sound, hearing the bang Cubone and Kabuto gets scared but calms down after Julian creases them saying that nothing happened.
Julian 'These ghost type pokemons are really reckless they don't know the consequence of playing this type of pranks, well I can't do anything I don't have any dark type pokemons with me right now'
After calming down and finally finished searching the ground floor he starts to move towards the first floor as he starts to climb the stairs a flying vase comes at him from nowhere but he easily dodges it as he was prepared and was ready to take on any kind of challenge they throw at him, when he reached the first floor after dodging numbers of flying vases and chairs he sees a two Gastlys looking at him happily and suddenly disappeared.
Julian "I this keeps on going it will be troublesome, It looks like I have to face it head on if they throw anything simultaneously"
Julian takes out a pair of MMA style rubber gloves which has metal knuckles on them and wears it.

Julian "I didn't think that I would be using them here, I just bought them for training purpose but now I have to punch some flying chairs and vase coming at me, and for back up, Monferno come out"
Monferno comes out and sees that they are in a dark and abandoned place he gets confused and looks at Julian so Julian explain him their situation and tells him to break anything that comes towards them, Monferno nods his head, Julian starts to search the first floor he sees some Gastlys appearing through the wall and as they see Julian they quickly disappear, there was no sign of any ghost hear so they start to walk towards the second floor as they are about to climb the stairs a desk comes crashing down but its turned shatters by Moferno as he punches it with his fist as they continue every kind home items comes flying towards them vases, flower pots, benches, chairs, desk, wooden planks, floor tiles, etc everything that comes towards them Julian and Monferno punches and kicks them away either breaking them or send them flying backward and finally they reach the second floor when they reach there they see a Gengar Julian didn't want to miss this opportunity and commands Monferno to engage in battle.
Julian "Monferno activate Foresight then use focus punch as fast as possible"
As Monferno has learned the skill foresight which allows him to attack ghost type pokemons,
Monferno without wasting any time sprints towards Gengar and uses focus punch with full power as Monferno was so fast Gengar didn't get time to dodge as was sent flying and crashed on a shelf but as soon as it crashed it got up and disappeared from there seeing this Gengar escaping both Julian and Monferno were pissed.
Julian "What the fuck its so difficult to first land an attack on them and now after finally getting a hit, they fucking escape"
Julian was really pissed this time and he and Monferno went on a rampage around the tower they would be greeted by multiple flying objects but those all were destroyed by them after some time it turned into a game between Julian, Monferno vs the ghost pokemons, surprisingly Cubone and Kabuto were having a time of their life seeing this scene presented before them as they watched how Julian and Monferno were rampaging around every were, one floor after another they conquered all, now the ghost pokemons were helpless as all their equipment were destroyed by Julian and Monferno, they never have felt so defeated in their lifetime but they were enjoying it.
Finally Julian and the rest had reached the 7th floor and this was the last floor of the tower, both Julian and Monferno were tired but they could still continue as they still had the stamina to spare but they didn't need to continue as they were looking around they entered a room where they saw a Marowak roaming around the room but something was different about it, they looked carefully and they noticed that it was a little transparent, it was a ghost.

Cubone who was sitting on Julian's solder suddenly jumps off and start running towards this ghost Marowak crying, Marowak also turned around to see Cubone and started to call him as Cubone tried to jump and hold his mother he passed right through her, he didn't understand at first but his mother started talking to him which made him cry more and after sometime she started to disappear slowly, seeing her slowly disappearing Cubone tried to grab her but it was no use, while disappearing she was smiling, smiling because she was able to see her son one last time, seeing his mother smile at him he stopped crying and looked at her as she slowly faded away, this scene was all seen by Julian as he stayed there not interfering as he knew this was his last time to see his mother and every second was precious.
Cubone was just looking at the spot where his mother had disappeared, Julian finally decided to walk towards him and lifted him and placed him on his solder
Julian "Cubone your mother will be very happy to know that you didn't cry after she disappeared she will be proud to have such a strong son, but you know crying will help you reduce your sadness in your heart so whenever you feel you want to cry, cry till the pain in your heart goes away"
Cubone just nods his head and forces himself to not cry but he was still a baby he could not hold himself and started to cry, as he cried Kabuto climbed down and clung onto Cubone as if he was hugging him until he finally stopped.
Julian sighed looking at Cubone as he knew it was very painful to lose family as he looked outside it was about to sunrise
Julian "Looks like I couldn't catch any of those sneaky bastards, Cubone are you ready its time to go back"
Cubone just nods his head and didn't say anything as he was still sad, Julian climbed down and sees the mess he and Monferno made around here and couldn't help but laughs awkwardly he walks out of the tower and was about to open the gate when he felt like someone taped the right solder he turns around and see no one was there when he felt a tap on his other solder Julian is no fool and he knew that another Ghost pokemon trying to mess with him, he pretended to turn left but again turned right to see a Gengar, Gengar was also surprised that his trick didn't work
Julian "Arnt you the same Gengar who attacked us on the second floor"
Gengar nods his head smiling and agreeing to Julian
Julian "What do you want, if you still want to play around I cannot as I have other things to do"
Julian opens the gate and walks out after sometimes he feels like someone was still following him, he turns around to see Gengar again.
Julian "Don't tell me you want to come with us?"
Gengar again nods his head happily, Julian was first surprised but he soon figured it out and didn't ask why he wanted to follow him as Julian already knew the answer as he had seen it in Gengar's eyes the desire to become strong so he wanted to follow Julian as he had witnessed how strong Julian and Monferno are together, Julian takes out a Pokeball a brings it in front of Gengar
Julian "Then what are you waiting for come with us"
Gengar becomes happy and presses the Pokeball's button as he goes inside as the Pokeball shakes left and right and finally makes a sound confirming that the capture is complete.
Julian "Gengar come out"

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y

A Spirit Vein's Guide to Immortality
TL;DR Synopsis: Man dies from falling banana, gets interrogated but answers vaguely, suffers consequences Actual synopsis: Spirit veins. Many consider them to be the pillar on which the world of cultivation is built. These things served as the foundation for the first few realms that would allow humanity to achieve its everlasting dream of immortality. However, in the present age, these pockets of condensed energy only exist to be under the foundations of massive organizations, fostering a new generation of fighters while passively radiating the energy they contain. Nevertheless, spirit veins are still an important element in the world of cultivation, albeit much less so. With that in mind, have you ever considered what it would be like for someone to turn into a spirit vein? No? Well, Arthur never thought about it either. Going through the usual reincarnation schtick (if one could consider it usual), Arthur was eventually brought into a place where a god asked him where he would like to be reborn. Unsurprisingly, Arthur told the god his ideal rebirth. However, soon enough, he would come to realize that he should have been more specific with it. Now being reborn as the smallest spirit vein, or if you could even consider him a spirit vein, Arthur wondered what he could do other than wait for time to consume him…and that’s where the system came in. With it, he would experience multiple stories of hardships, adventure, romance, and action…all underground. Unless…? Do keep in mind that English is not my first language, so I would like to apologize in advance if there are any grammatical errors, typos, miscalculations and so on. In fact, I'd highly appreciate it if you tell me those mistakes. Also, this story focuses quite a lot on the gradual progression of the MC at the beginning, but in the long run, upgrading sprees would probably be more common. Thanks for reading this small note!
