'Song Dei Si? Who is she? I haven't encountered her in one of our social gatherings. I'm pretty sure she did not belong to the upper class'

'How come she had managed to afford her tuition fees here in Yan High School if she didn't come from the elite family?'

'Oh so her father is our school principal. Did her dad use his position for her to be accepted here?'

'She's so simple. She never had any accessories on. She is not posh.'

Ho Min Lin suddenly stopped in front of the so called 'elite girls' when she heard their conversation.

"Are you done gossiping my bestfriend?" She asked them.

"She's your bestfriend?" One of the girls asked Min Lin in disbelief. "What has gotten into you to treat her as your bestfriend. She didn't come from a rich family like you?"

"So your standard for picking a bestfriend was her social status?"

"Min Lin, let's go." Song Dei Si tried to pull her bestfriend away from the group.

Min Lin did not mind her and continously talked to the group of girls who belittled her.

"Let me tell you this. She may not came from a filthy rich family like you girls are being boastful of? But without your rich parents, what else do you have? Manners? I don't think you have that. Beauty? I'm pretty sure that you have spent a day in a salon just to achieve that cakey-look face like a clown full of make-up. Elegant? Posh girls do not have time gossiping because of their insecurities. Brain? I just heard from dad that Uncle Mo was problematic because you are always at the bottom of your class and if you will not cope up with your grades, you might get spelled from this school because you cannot live up with its high standard."

The girl was so furious and tried to slap Min Lin's face but before her hand hit her, Song Dei Si grabbed the girl's wrist so it stayed in mid-air.

"Don't you dare slap her and you can find the girl from the slum area who fight mercilessly. I'm sure you won't like that." She warned her.

The girl and her friends seems to be frightened by her words and been warned. They were trembling as they have walked fast away from them.

As soon as they left. Song Dei Si and Ho Min Lin looked at each other then suddenly burst out laughing.

"You can bag the Best Actress award with those amazing lines." Ho Min Lin teased her.

"And thank you for being my best supporting friend." She said sincerely then she hugged her.

"No one can ever look down on you as long as I am here." Ho Min Lin told her.

"And I'll always be here to protect you." She said.

"That's why I wouldn't trade you for any rich girl here in the campus to replace you as my bestfriend. You're a gem to keep, remember that." Min Lin emotionally told her.

She smiled at her and she was beyond blessed for having Min Lin on her side, as always. Come what may, she will never let go of her hand and will keep her too as her best friend for life.
