Yan Mor Tee was about to leave the office when his phone rang.

"Yes mum?" He answered while he started walking out of his office.

"Where you at?!" Madam Yan asked.

"In the office but I'm about to leave."

"Good! Meet us at Shila Hotel for dinner."

"Mum, I can't. I have prior commitment and.."

"Cancel it!" She said authoritatively then hung up.

Yan Mor Tee face turned grimmed. His mother has never changed. She was still that manipulative eversince. He had no other choice but to cancel his meeting and drove off to Shila Hotel to meet his mother.

.....

Yan Mor Tee saw his mother chummily chatting to a beautiful woman sitting next to her at the center dining table of the hotel restaurant lobby. He approached them and greeted the both ladies.

"It's been a while, Mor Tee." Tan Ja Nin asked him smilingly.

He nodded and asked her question while he took his seat opposite to her. "How have you been these past few days?"

"Quite busy. I've moved out from Tan's Mansion and started living on my own"

"Why?" He curiously asked. Did something happen at the her family's mansion that made her decided to move out?

"Hmmm, maybe I have gotten used to living alone. I've been living independently in New York for five years thou"

"I see" he said.

"I've told her that when I was at her age, I always wanted to move out from my parent's mansion but don't have the courage to live on my own. Isn't she the bravest soul sitting in here?" Madam Yan put on a big smile when she made those praises to Tan Ja Nin.

Yan Mor Tee couldn't beg to disagree. In any way, he also admired Tan Ja Nin's free-spirited personality.

"Well, I don't mind living and going back to another mansion again. Maybe I should start working hard to win your heart so I can be that future Young Miss in the Yan's mansion, right?"she said giggling.

Madam Yan seconded her. "Work fast my dear before our Young Master get snatched by some other girls"

"You are not seriously thinking about that Tan Jan Nin, right?" he said laughingly but the tandem of these two ladies made him felt so uncomfortable.

"Of course I was just joking" She answered and stopped giggling. "As if I didn't know who owns your heart."

Yan Mor Tee smiled and glanced at his mother. He saw a non-expression look from her.

Madam Yan excused herself to go to the ladies room. "Place our orders now." She said to Yan Mor Tee before she left the two in the table.

"Is dad coming?" He asked.

"He said he will but I doubt." Her mother answered him.

His parent relationship had been rocky and at the verge of falling out.

"Okay then." He answered.

.....

"Hey, your mum told me that she saw Song Dei Si at the Yan High School earlier this afternoon" Tan Ja Nin told him as soon as his mother left.

"Really?" He said, he was surprised by the news.

"Yeah, I think she was anxious that you might end up with her so she called me and asked me for a dinner. I think your mum was still hoping that we will ever get together in the end"

"And how about you? Are you still hoping?"

Tan Ja Nin eyes widened. "You conceited beast. Of course I have gotten over you" she said. "Now tell me, what's the real score between you and Song Dei Si?"

Yan Mor Tee did not respond.

"Don't tell me that you haven't progressed yet?" Tan Ja Nin asked him with her chinky eyes got rounded in disbelief.

He still did not reply.

Tan Ja Nin took a deep sigh. "Silly! If you don't move now somebody will!" She said threatening him.

And he was threatened.
