He never saw his beloved this angry. She seemed so different.

"Brina, what happened" Chris asked her as soon as she came and stood in front of them.

However, Brina didn't answer him but took the bouquet he is holding.

"Hmm….rosses. Most of the girls love them, don't they?? Chris", she asked.

"But I am allergic to roses. If I smell them, the pollen in the roses make me sneeze continuously. My nose becomes red and my eyes will water" she told.

"And it's so sad that you don't even know that. How many years have I worked with you…. Sorry, how many years have I worked for you? Two years??" Brin asked mockingly.

"Yet, you don't know that. If you would have really loved me…. cared for me, you would have been aware of it" Brina said, this time looking into his eyes.

"Brina, I-" he is about to continue but he stuttered with his words, not knowing what to speak.

"What?? Come on, Chris speak out. You would have definitely got one or other excuse" Brina asked.

Seeing his blank and humiliated face, she couldn't help laugh pitifully.

"But you don't have an excuse for that, do you?? Now, how can you justify your love towards me, if you don't even know such a basic thing about me, huh" she asked.

"Brina, you can't judge this just by a small matter like this!!" he angrily said. He was never humiliated by any one like this, never.

"Small matter, Chris?? What if my allergy is fatal?? What if I die…. will you call it small!!" Brina asked angrily.

"Leave about this. Let's think that you are too busy to notice such a 'small' things about the girl you love. You are a busy director of Cooper corps and yeah, what not" Brina said her voice deliberately softened.

The colour that has drained out of Chris's face started to recompose back when he heard her words.

Yes, he is very busy man to give a fuck about these things. He is a director of a multinational company god dammit!! Not a free and ordinary employee like her!!

"Chris, given with the position you are in at such a young age, you should have really been a genius and matured man, am I right?" Brina asked and Chris nodded his head.

Of course, he had best studies across the world. His family is filthy rich!!

"But you lack common sense, don't you?" Brina asked and Chris instantly frowned.

What is she really trying to imply here!!

"How can you say that, Brina!! If I lack common sense how will I be able to manage the biggest department in a multinational company. How will I be able to get into top five eligible bachelors of country?" he asked, certainly proud of his accomplishments. What he doesn't know is that, he is walking straight into her trap.

"Hmm…. So, what you are saying is, you intentionally made a move behind my back though you know how much I don't like my family. You didn't take this decision because of lack of your common sense that you should not meet a girl's family without her approval, but you deliberately did this!!"

"You thought that my family will force me into marrying me. It's a win- win situation for you, that's what you have thought, didn't you??" Brina asked. Her voice an octave higher than before and fiercer.

Chris bit his tongue inside. He didn't expect her to turn the tables like this…. Just with a flick of her hands. She certainly knows how to twist one's own words to her advantage, just like a diplomat.

"No, Brina I didn't do this to hurt you. I…. I was-" he stopped again. This time his face marred with guilty.

He never though that he will get humiliated by some one like this, especially the girl he loves.

"Don't try to come up with an excuse again, Chris!! Because you won't find one" Brina said.

She took the velvet box from him an opened it. "A platinum ring with a rare green diamond engraved in middle…hmm…so expensive and so beautiful" she commented.

Chris let out a forced smile.

"But you know what Chris. It simply doesn't matter how expensive the gift is. The only thing it matters is how much you love a girl and respect her choices. Whatever the gift might be, it will be priceless to a girl if and only if the love you pour in it is genuine and heart felt. Otherwise, it is worthless" Brina said.

"And you miserably failed in all these aspects, so, this gift is worthless to me." Brina said and shoved it back into his hands.

She subconsciously touched the chain Louis gave her other day and instantly a smile bloomed on her face. And, this didn't go unnoticed by Chris.

"And about the car you brought to show off how much you love me, you better keep it to yourself because whenever I see the things related to you, all I feel from now is nothing but hatred."

"I used to admire you, respect you. I have always thought that you are my well-wisher, a good friend who would never hurt me"

"But, Chris, you proved me wrong. All I feel for you now is nothing but hatred" saying so Brina shoved away the blazer he used on the cruise to wrap her from lustful gazes. She gave away the pen recorder he gave her on her previous birthday.

"Good bye, Chris" she said and she is about to go away when he held her wrist. His eyes burning with guilt and regret, but also anger and humiliation.

"If you stop me now, my hatred will turn into disgust" Brina said and he instantly let her go.

Brina is sleeping when a drunken Chris started banging her door.
