If she informs Tanya about her arrival, the news might reach Chris too.

And, Brina doesn't want to face Chris again and makes it difficult for herself.

She wants everything to go in a transparent and smooth manner so that she can leave the company with no strings attached.

And, as soon as Brina entered the company, the receptionist greeted her politely. Brina nodded her head politely and smiled before greeting her and taking the elevator to the HR department.

After Brina disappeared from her sight, the receptionist informed Tanya about Brina's arrival and where she headed too.

Meanwhile, Brina reached the HR department and was about to proceed with her resignation procedures but was caught red handed by Tanya who hurriedly arrived.

She was literally waiting for Brina from yesterday. No calls, no messages and when she went to their flat, Brina was not there as well…!!

Brina really made Tanya worried to death!! Now, she is here to resign??

What exactly is going with this woman here?

Tanya really got angry with all this.

"Someone is being so distant and secretive nowadays." Tanya mocked as she snatched away the letter from Brina.

"Resignation letter! Wooow… Such an awesome engagement gift for her friend." Tanya laughed sarcastically. But it is too evident that she is hurt by Brina's decision.

Her teary eyes gave it away though her words didn't.

Even Brina's eyes misted up as she saw her best friend on the verge of tears. It is what she wanted to prevent from happening.

Hurting Tanya.

"Tan…" Brina is about to tell something but gets interrupted by Tanya.

"You didn't even tell me before alighting the cruise ship. You just left and when I came this afternoon to our flat, you weren't there as well!! I've been looking for you everywhere, Brina… park, supermarket, cafes...everywhere we used to go!! You didn't even text me or called me back!" Tanya exploded.

"But, I didn't expect you to come right here to resign on your job, you know? I didn't expect this… I...I just thought you need time" Tanya pursued her lips trying not to cry.

"I convinced Ben and the others to get you promoted as my secretary. I thought I could make it up to you like this…"

"Though we will not be flat mates anymore I thought we can spend our time together at least at work. But… here you are…" Tanya bit her lips.

"If you didn't want to be my secretary, I… I.. would have respected your choice" she added, "You would have just told me, Brina."

Brina felt her eyes teared up and her heart twisted in pain, but she swiftly wiped away her tears and averted her guilty gaze.

It is not only about the promotion but about Chris as well. Above all, she wanted to work with Louis.

"I will be in contact with you, Tanya. It was just that I don't want to continue in this company anymore. I didn't mean to hurt you." She told, her voice laced with grim and guilt.

"Why? Why are you so adamant not to continue in this company?" This time it is not Tanya who asked but it is Chris.

His face is grim and angry.

He went to her house yesterday afternoon as soon as he alighted the Cruise ship.

But she wasn't there!

Her phone was switched off and her GPS didn't help him much. He couldn't track her either even after using the company's employee tracker.

This is highly impossible. She would not be able to block it until unless someone powerful helped her to deactivate it. On the first place she wouldn't be even aware of it let alone to deactivate it!!

"Is it because of the day before yesterday, Brina? Chris asked, getting closer to her.

But, when she stepped back, he frowned. "Are you avoiding me now?" he asked, his voice filled with anger and disappointment.

Brina sighed and massaged the space between her eyebrows. Disregarding Chris whose behavior towards her changed so drastically, Brina turned towards Tanya, her only genuine friend.

"I got a job in my dream company, Tanya. I have been waiting to get into the company and today, I got my approval." Brina explained.

While she spoke, her mind drifted towards Louis.

Without him, this wouldn't have happened. If not for his help, she would have been sandwiched between Tanya's friendship and Chris's pressure.

She felt really grateful to him and above all this, she started looking forward to spending more time with Louis.

Brina couldn't deny it, anymore. She is so, so attracted towards him in such a way that she started feeling scared because of her feelings towards him.

Meanwhile Tanya sighed. She accepts that she doesn't know much about her best friend.

Brina is always secretive and she has never been willing to share her past. So Tanya never forced Brina to talk either about her life or her dreams.

So, basically she isn't aware of Brina's dislike towards rich and famous people. Nor is she aware of what Brina's dream company is.

"I understand Brina. Leave this as is. But girl, why did you tell 'no' to Chris? He is such a sweetheart and never had any history of bad rumors. Chris never loved any girl and you are the one whom he proposed to." Tanya came closer and talked in a hushed tone.

Chris and her fiancé, Ben, are very close to each other and seeing Chris all flustered and restless, disappointed Ben.

Seeing her fiancé like that made Tanya sad. So, she decided to talk to Brina about this.

Of course, Brina saw through her friend and she understood why Tanya came here to talk.

"I know how Chris is!! But I never felt for him in that way, yes, I respect him and admire him but that doesn't mean that I see him in that way!!" Brina whispered back.

Leaving behind her idea of marrying a normal guy, first of all, she must have feelings for accepting someone right!!

And she never felt in that way towards Chris.

"Try him. Spend some time with him like good friends and then decide. Please, Brina… Do that for me. Think of it as my last wish. Please…" Tanya pleaded with her friend.

This of course made Brina face an awkward situation. She couldn't say no nor could she accept.

What should she do now?

At that exact moment, her mobile started ringing.

You're the only thing I wanna touch…'

The ringtone filled the room with silence. Everyone was shocked.

This is not Brina's ringtone. At least, this is not what they heard before!

'Huh? This isn't my ringtone. Who changed it into this cheesy one?' Brina thought.

Meanwhile, Tanya peeked into Brina's mobile involuntarily just like she used to do before, out of habit.

She couldn't help but gape…
