Unlucky?Player Chapter 7

Hermes stood there as he saw Night disconnect as soon as he introduced himself,
"Wait what? where'd he go?!!" Hermes exclaimed.
Before he could think about it anymore, the system erased any thoughts he had about Night's disappearance.
//
Luke removed the headset after disconnecting revealing his dark blue hair that seemed to be somewhat flattened after wearing the headset,
"Yeah no, I've had enough for one day. Hermes? in the beginner's zone? nice try scammer" he scoffed in denial. His thought process wasn't wrong, why would a God be in the beginning zone. But no matter how much he denied it, he had a feeling he might just be forcing himself away from the truth.
Hoping Nate was done playing, he thought to get some food with him and calm his nerves down a bit.

Luke waited for a while before entering, just when he opened the door he saw that Nate had just disconnected.
"Dude, let's go get some food we have a lot to talk about".
Nate could tell when Luke was serious and so he followed Luke. Both of them wore their shoes and proceeded to go to a nearby diner.
The scenery remained constant as they passed by well-groomed bushes and bright green plants, Toronto was a beautiful city and the streets were fairly empty in most parts of the city. Unlike the stereotypes, moose weren't stomping around the city randomly and not everyone comes up to you and asks how your day's going. People usually kept to themselves or at least they wouldn't bother others.
They finally reached the diner closest to their apartment, Luke and Nate particularly enjoyed the burgers here. Once they ordered their usual and seated themselves in an empty booth, Nate asked "so wassup man? why do you look so confused?"

"Well for starters I'm being stalked by a ghost in Genesis."
Luke continued to explain everything that took place once he spawned.
"Wait-wait-wait, so you're telling me a Forbidden grade Goddess is stalking you? and she cursed you causing all your initial stats to be halved along with a bunch of other debuffs?" Nate asked.
"Well yeah that's the gist of it and to make it worse I was forced to take the Grandmaster class, there were a few good things to come of the curse though, "Luke replied.
"Woah you actually managed to get a Hidden class? what could possibly be good about a curse?"
"Well I got an XP buff and a few other things," Luke said before he continued to explain every buff in detail, as Luke continued to explain, the look on Nate's face gradually turned cold.
"YOU B*STARD DO YOU REALIZE HOW LUCKY YOU ARE? YES, YOU GOT A FEW DEBUFFS BUT THE BUFFS CLEARLY OUTWEIGH THEM" he screamed and calmed himself before continuing "Ahem anyway what level could you possibly be?10?"
"21"
"I don't know you anymore, from today we don't know each other" Nate cried as he hit his head against the table.
After an hour of talking about the game, both of them left the diner to go back home.
"Man, not only are you a prodigy in combat sports but now you're the mysterious player who's completely leaving everyone behind? Maybe this can be your stepping-stone to proving your family wrong?"Nate joked.
Suddenly stopping in his tracks, "Nate you absolute genius" Luke said while cheerfully jumping onto his friend for the idea. Not knowing what he said Nate just accepted the gesture.

[Welcome back Player Night]
Determined to find out if the NPC was actually Hermes, he asked"Are you actually Hermes? and if you are prove it"

"Hmmm prove it you say, usually I don't entertain such remarks but because you saved my baby, I'll show you something that'll convince you," He said while rubbing his cheek on his staff
Very obviously creeped out by Hermes's actions, Night stepped back slightly, but Hermes pointed his staff at Night, and once again he suddenly he found himself next to the clouds again.
"WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH CONSTANTLY SENDING ME MILES ABOVE LAND" he screamed but naturally, since he was thousands of meters above land, nobody could hear him.
'Well whatever, it's not like I'm dying,' Night thought as he folded his hands and awaited the illusion's disappearance.
After going through a process Night was very familiar with, he coughed and knelt
"I Greet the almighty master of messages, O'heavnly being, shower mercy upon this peasant of a being" Night said as he faced down with his palms facing the sky.
"*sigh*Enough kid, as if you would ever bow down to anyone, especially with that aura clinging onto you, no one in their right mind would dare ask you to bow down," He said while pointing to Night.
Curious after Hermes's remark, Night got up and asked "aura?"
"I see you aren't aware, Caduceus here showed me what happened in the cave and I don't know whether to hide you away from the other Gods and help you or erase you from existence right now. Kid, for reasons I'm not aware of, the Goddess of the Night, the one who stood at the beginning of creation, has taken a liking to you and marked you, now I know this curse (or mark)may be extremely harsh in the beginning but it is a blessing from a being who rivals even Zeus's power."
