Chapter 54 – Daily Routine (2)
After Chen Diayu finished the little homework she had, she immediately went to her granddad’s patio and watched the training sessions.
Lu Ji would come with a plate of fruit and sit with her, explaining all the movements with detail.
“How do you know all this uncle?”
“I had to go through the same training as a child,” Lu Ji looked slightly proud at this, “your grandfather is looking for someone to inherit the family.”
Chen Daiyu looked at him confused.
“The Shan family title is not actually passed by blood ties but by martial ability.” Lu Ji continued, “your uncle was fit to inherit it, but after … some complications he told the Old Man that he could not hold the family name.”
“Is that why grandfather is training all these children then? To find an inheritor?”
Lu Ji nodded.
“What about Yijun?”
Lu Ji started laughing at this, “Little Yujin could not even last one training session before running away, he barely comes by here anymore.”
Chen Daiyu nodded thoughtfully and looked at her grandfather. He was an upright and strict old man, the wrinkles in his face could not hide all the experiences he had gone through.
As if making up her mind, Chen Daiyu nodded decisively and left her chair. She approached her grandfather with viggor and tugged at his shirt.
Old Man Shan looked down to see his cute little granddaughter and picked her up. He vaguely told the children to continue training and turned to Chen Daiyu.
“What’s wrong little one?”“Grandfather, I want you to train me!” Chen Daiyu put on her most serious face as she said this.
Old Man Shan laughed heartily at this

“Little one, you are too young to start training.” Chen Daiyu furrowed her brows.
“I can do it!”Looking at the child’s stubborn gaze, Old Man Shan’s heart softened.
“Ok, but you have to be at least 7 to start training with everyone else. But I must warn you, while you are training we won’t be grandfather and granddaughter, you will be my pupil and it will be my job to guide you.” Old Man Shan looked stern, “you can ask little Yijun.”
“I will train with all my heart and soul!”
After that Chen Daiyu went back to her seat and attentively watched the children while listening to Lu Ji’s commentary.
Once it was dinner time, the three of them strutted off to the dining room.
When Chen Feng was able to be there, he would accompany Chen Daiyu after dinner. They played various chess games together while talking about their day.
Chen Daiyu bragged about her achievements while Chen Feng vaguely told her about what he was up to.
Every once in a while, Shan He would also come home for dinner. Those nights, Shan Yijun would stay in his room.
Most of the time though, it would be Old Man Shan, Shan Yijun, and Chen Daiyu at the dinner table.
The Old Man enjoyed the company of his energetic grandchildren and followed along with their games. If they wanted to watch tv he would watch with them until they fell asleep. If they wanted to play board games, he would play with them and lose.
Chen Daiyu enjoyed these simple times.
Once it was time for bedtime, Chen Daiyu slept for a few hours before waking up in the middle of the night.
She went to the Shan Abode every night.

She had been doing as much research as she could on the Du family and planned how to take them down.
On the side, she would get lessons ready for Shan Yijun. Although he was uninterested at the moment, he would eventually have to learn how to fight.
She planned to sneakily force him to train with her. She would teach him military strategies. Anything necessary so that he wouldn’t fall like he did in the novel.
Though she couldn’t stay there too long, so as to not make her eyebags to noticeable, she did the best she could every night.
Once she was done, she returned to her room and fell asleep, when the sun rose, she was ready to start her day again.

Path of Boundless Adventure
When Mana flooded back to Earth after billions of years, most felt lost in the new world. Some managed to adapt. For Michael, he felt like he'd finally found his path. Follow him as he fights monsters, explores new lands and most of all, seeks adventure. This is my first novel, never written anything before, so please be kind and patient with me, I'm doing my best. A more light-hearted post-apocalyptic novel with large amounts of game elements. MC has a unique advantage but is not massively overpowered and there's more of a focus on exploring and discovering new things rather than defeating a series of arch-nemesis' or building an empire. Persona Non Grata
After the events of Dr. Jose Rizal's second novel "El Filibusterismo", the story follows the tale of the former students Basilio and Isagani in the aftermath of the failed assassination plot against the most powerful governing political figures in the Delos Santos residence. Now a licensed doctor and a tenured businessman, Basilio and Isagani returns to the Philippines after their 10-year venture in Spain and in the United States to spearhead a large-scale project for the Spanish crown. For the first time in the history of the country, the Spanish government has allowed Indios to pioneer major public works, and the Filipinos, seeing this as major milestone of their race, welcomed it cheering and with open arms. It was also during that same year when the new Captain-General was appointed to the Philippines following the scandal involving the outgoing Captain-General, who sent an entire battalion of Indio conscripts to be deliberately slaughtered by a gang of tulisanes led by a man going by the name 'Matanglawin' (Falcon-eye). Leonardo Montes, the incoming Captain-General, was both feared and loved by his subjects. A close friend of the king and reputed for upholding honor, discipline and goodwill among his subjects, he won the confidence of the Cortes and of the Filipino people when political unrest arose during the tenure of his predecessor when he represented the Philippines in the high courts and won the case. However, Montes, now at the early days of his tenure, is faced with a huge and pressing problem: the widespread opium trade in the Philippines. Chinese immigration to the Philippines has increased at an exponential rate since his predecessor came to power and so is the circulation of the substance within the country. And to make matters worse, strange cases of killings and abductions began to terrorize the country, with the motives of the culprit unknown...

Moonshot
Gregarious businessman Evin Tumble is fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of a low-orbiting moon. Specifically, he's interested in shooting it down with a giant cannon. The moon is only about eight miles overhead, but it's high enough and quick enough that nobody can reach it by balloon or airship. He hires our protagonists: taciturn Iseult Morrin, cheerful Sean Whelan, and nervous Íde Ceallaigh, to help him with his obsession. As our heroes are dispersed across the continent to perform tasks for Tumble, and the moon-hunt draws closer, they become increasingly suspicious of their benefactor's motives and true nature. Moonshot is a story centred around struggling with confidence, the difficulty of being an immigrant, and the duality of truth, all clad in the trappings of an urban fantasy. It is character-driven, from the heart, and based on tropes and ideas that are missing from a lot of contemporary fantasy (a push beyond the flawless-yet-somehow-still-needs-rescuing-by-an-oafish-man heroine trope, a touch of cosmic magic based on the shared geometries of Celtic and Arab art).
