Chapter 13 – A Big Door and a Small Door
While ‘sobbing’ quietly, Xiao Daiyu rubbed the toy ring on her finger. Mr. Lu wouldn’t give her such a thing if he wasn’t worried, right?
The first time Lu Ji went to the orphanage to distribute toys, he gave her a toy ring and kept saying how pretty it looked on her and that she should keep it on at all times. She quickly noticed the tracker inside it but when she remembered that he was Mr. Chen’s subordinate, she decided to keep it.
Who knew it would come in handy so quickly… But then she remembered that Mr. Chen had no obligation to protect her.
Relying on herself was better…
The first time Lu Ji went to the orphanage to distribute toys, he gave her a toy ring and kept saying how pretty it was for her to keep. She already noticed the tracker inside it but when she remembered that he was Mr. Chen’s subordinate, she kept it.
Who knew it would be handy in this type of situation… But when she thought of how unfamiliar she was with that Mr. Chen, she gave up on that thought.
Relying on myself is still better…
The car stopped in front of a desolate building in the outskirts of town. It was an abandoned factory that was left to rot after a fire.
“Come here you little b*tch”
Without warning, the violent man dragged Xiao Daiyu out by her hair.
“Please stop! Wuuu-“
Trying her best to pretend to be a scared child, she cried crocodile tears and fell on the floor.
“Shut up!” The violent man was about to kick her in the head when his partner stopped him.

“If she dies it’ll be troublesome to hide the body, plus we won’t get any money for all the trouble we have gone through. If we don’t get the money on time, boss Jun will…” The man paused deliberately. The threat successfully shut the violent man up. He instead spat on Xiao Daiyu, who was protecting her head and curled up in a fetus position.
There was fire brewing in her eyes. Her experience in her past life came to fruition, her patience was on another level…
She praised herself internally to calm down.
______
“We don’t need to investigate. We need back up.”
When Shan Yijun saw where they had stopped, he immediately told Lu Jin to turn around. They had gone through that road while coming here, he remembered the abandoned building they passed on the way.
There was absolutely no way that that little ‘cousin’ of his was being adopted.
His first thought was- Lu Ji’s movements were too obvious and someone tracked it down to his little cousin. Or that… there was a mole.
Hopefully it was the former…
—
Back at the lodge where Chen Feng was recuperating.
“Where is she?” Chen Feng bolted up from his bed when he overheard the conversation between Chu Mo and his nephew.
“Uncle, calm down. Even if you’re worried, you need to stay here until you are cleared by the doctor,” Shan Yijun might sound monotone but he was truly worried about his uncle.
However, Chen Feng wasn’t listening and immediately ordered Chu Mo to start a car.
“That brat- Xiao Chu will definitely listen to him. Then we just have to get there faster than him!” Lu Ji stepped on the gas paddle and drove towards the building as quickly as the car allowed him to.

The abandoned factory was chilly. There were overgrown plants and rubble everywhere. The creepy scenery would give anyone chills, aside from acting frightened and fidgety, Xiao Daiyu couldn’t care less about the scenery.
She hid her killing intent from the two men and looked like a frightened little child.
The wound on her forehead hadn’t stopped bleeding, the violent man kept dragging her by her hair every time she lagged even a step behind them.
Under her child-like appearance, the 2 men didn’t put her in their eyes at all.
In one of the corners of the factory there were 4 men surrounding a table. They reeked of booze and cigars, they were busy playing cards and ignored the three people coming in.
They were sitting by two doors, one big and one small.
With her head lowered, she scanned her surroundings from the corner of her eyes, looking for possible weapons or ways to escape. She lowered her eyes after a few seconds.
There was a pipe and a wrench by the corner, two of the men that were sitting at the table had handguns on their waist, a pair of 9mm that could shoot about 1,800 meters. They were in one of the lower floors of the factories so she would have to run quickly.
The violent man pushed Xiao Daiyu into the room behind the small door, it took her a few seconds to grow accustomed to the dark.
She was surprised when she heard small sobs coming from the dark corner of the room…

Dungeon Scholar
Girl meets dungeon. What could go right? A story of a good-hearted Scholar driven by her compassion and curiosity. She might be a little combat averse, but um, isn't that only logical? Love me a good grimdark, but sometimes I want to read feel-good fiction that isn't pure action, romance, or comedy. The plot and characters of Dungeon Scholar won't be all happy and fluffy, and the world will be more dungeons and monsters than rainbows and puppies, but overall the sweet moments should overshadow the bitter. Let's say three dollops of sugar for every pinch of salt, with lemon slices left on the saucers? Enjoy. Note: This is NOT a typical dungeon story. If you are here for the dungeon aspect, then fair warning this will seem incredibly slow-burn to you. The dungeon will eventually become the most important 'character,' arguably, or the second-most important narratively, but you might jump out the window in frustration long before that happens. At its heart, the story's core remains 'girl meets dungeon,' not 'dungeon meets world.' (To be clear, this does or will have a plot! It's just the more conventional story-like elements contribute to Rowena Loress's greater story, not the other way around; no conflict takes center stage until it becomes personally significant to her. Meanwhile, have some Slice of Life.) Updates every Friday Cover made using Waifulabs Written using 4thewords (referral code: UZJRY55368)

Blackwood Company (A novel of grimdark sword and sorcery)
Sorela, a frustrated court wizard, is tasked with finding her High Lord’s son who went missing in a border skirmish near the cursed forest known as the Blackwood, or else he will go to war with his perceived enemies. As a mage, Sorela must support a higher ideal, and prevent this war from happening. To confound her troubles, Sorela's wool-brained handmaiden, Leisa, has insisted she come along as part of her trials, so that she may prove she deserves admittance to the Mage Academy and tutelage under Sorela in the immediate future. Against the mage's better judgment, she allows the girl to accompany her on this most important quest, as she and her lord's Captain Commander set out in secrecy with a band of barely trained boys. What’s missing from Sorela’s company are swords with experience. That’s where the questionable travelers come into the fold… Blackwood Company is a completed short novel of approximately 42,000 words/168 pages. I will be releasing a chapter daily.

Economicalopoly
Humanity had gotten this far. How far, might you be wondering? Quite far indeed. The world had effectively become an ecumenopolis, almost; not in real life at least, in Economicalopoly of course! More on that later, in our story the main character is Charlie. Charlie was an exceptionally talented young man, the key word being 'was'. He was an incredibly unmotivated individual who generally steered clear from other 'Homo sapiens' as he put it. This was all because of an accident he had early on in life, when he was but 15 years old.
