Nik's Pov

I saw her stir from her sleep and knew at once she'll be up in no time and God knows how relieved I am cause I've been going crazy this entire time.

What if something had happened to her, then I'll be so burdened with quilt and I never like to be burdened with emotions. Emotions cloud your judgement and make you do reckless things.

well, I'll have him straightened out sooner than later, I'll have him know that no one messes with me and goes Scot free.

"Mom" Maya muttered in her sleep and I couldn't help but stare at her. She looked strained and tortured even in her sleep.

"M-mom...don't go, don't leave me! Mom!" She stood so abruptely and in the process almost kissed the ground if I haven't being so quick to the rescue

"What the heck?" Maya murmured staring all over with wild eyes

"You're at my place, remember?"

"Your place? "She arched her brow before rubbing her head "why is your room spinning and why are there two of you, you never told me you're a twin?"

"Because you're obviously not in your right frame of mind , you're experiencing dizzy spells so go back to bed" I said helping her back to her bed but you should know by now how much of a sturbborn ass Maya is

"Wait" Maya said pushing me away "I was in a car. no , where's izzy no...no...the reporters ?"

"Seriously, damn you " I cursed and had no choice than to carry her back to the bed. She squirmed and struggled against my grip

"I swear if you move as much as an inch again I'll toss you in my bathtub filled to the brim with ice, that way you'll be much sober"

"You can't do that" She challenged

I smirked " Try me"

"Fine, I give up" she surrended at last " You've finally succeded in proving to me that you're a cold blooded emotionless jerk"

"If you think I'm going to loose my control thanks to your glib tongue then you're in for a loss, See if I care "

"Well, you never know and by the way, incase you care to know I'm much better now"

"You not getting off that bed"

"And no argument"

"Fine" She snorted rolling her eyes "Always the boss"

"You know I can hear you"

"See if I care" She retorted and I sighed, showing kindness to someone really sucks.

"By the way, how did I even end up here? Last thing I remembered , I was with the reporters"

"You mean surrounded by reporters?"

She raised her chin defensively " I was going to handle them before whatever happened out there happened"

I smirked "oh sure, you handled them quite well" I said and trust Maya , she was quick to notice the sarcasm

"What happened out there?" She asked sternly

"Well, you chickened out by fainting from heatstroke and low blood sugar and I had to save the day once again. Do you know how tiring it is to play knight in shinning armour?"

Maya gave me a fake smile "Oh don't worry, I'm so grateful that I could die from joy "she squealed but I noticed the sheer sarcasm.

"Do you happen to hit your head somewhere cause you've being so different ever since you awoke. You haven't babbled nor stammered "

"This is my usual personality when I'm not burdened with life changing tests and I don't find my boyfriend cheating on me.why do you ask, have any problem with that?"

"No, of course not. You just look a lot bolder and sexy"

Maya rolled her eyes and heaved an exasperated sigh "Trust me , I'm not....." She froze and looked down cautiously at her clothes before getting out of bed

She's going to freak out

"This wasn't - its new ....not my clothes ...please, tell me this isn't what I'm thinking" Maya glared at me with blazing intensity

"You changed me?"

"What do you think ?"

"I know you're a chronic player but don't you think its so disgusting and perverted to change me without my permission!"

I narrowed my eyes at her disappointed, how could she be so narrow minded ?

Wait a minute, why was I so concerned with what she thinks of me? Get a grip, Niklaus. Do not feel, be the cold emotionless bastard you are.

"Do you know you have this vein in your head that threatens to pop out whenever you're angry?" I said pointing to her forehead but the glared intensified

"Seriously Niklaus spencer, does this situation looks funny to you? We're talking sexual harrassment here?" She stood her ground, lips firmly pressed together and arms folded across chest.

God, she looked sexy when angry and it wouldn't hurt to tease her further.

"Well, you didn't exactly complain when I changed you"

"Cause i was uncouscious, how was I to know what you had in mind and you didn't exactly ask for my consent and..."

A knock interrupted us saving me from receiving more of her tongue lashings.

"Come in" I said and Amanda came in with my request while smiling at the sight of Maya on her feet

"You up already, I knew ye're gonna be OK"

Maya gave me a curious what -the -hell- is -going- on - here look

"oh, meet Amanda my housekeeper, Amanda, Maya "

"Nice to meet you, I'm Maya " She said extending her hand for a handshake

"Me too, Amanda"

"Since you know the housekeeper's duties, I'm sure the both of you would work out fine"

Unlike Tina who naggs that Amanda does not meet her standards.well I had to admit , Tina does complain a lot.

"Oh right, I hope you don't mind but your clothes were so wet that I had no choice than to change you into a new one"

Great, she've just exposed my secret

"Whoah, whoah,whoah, hollerup, did you just say you changed me?"

"Yeah, I'm sor...."

"You not him changed me?" Maya asked confused

"Of course, why would sir Nik do that?"

Maya covered up the awkward situation with a cute smile " Thank you"

"Ah Sir Nik, your request" Amanda said handling something to me and leaving right away.I turned to face Maya who stood with arms folded and a stern look

"You lied" She accused.

"I was having fun"

"You never hit me as a jovial person"

"There are many sides to me that you don't know but you can if you want to" I said sniffing her hair and tucking a strand behind her ear.

"I'll pass"

"You're no fun" I groaned opening the package

"What's that?"she asked

"Your medicine"

"My what?"

"You'll see" Once I was through, Maya stared at me astonished

She scoffed "My medicine is a cake?"

"We have to balance your sugar level so you don't go about blacking out"

"Wow, Good doctor" Maya teased

"I'm an entrepreneur not a doctor. I can't leave you unwell else you'll give out low output and low output doesn't bring gain so ..."

"You have to make sure your machine is fit and healthy" She interjected crudely if I must say

"Well, if you say so" I said nonchalantly. I simply cut a bit of the cake and gave it to her. She wouldn't let me feed her in the mouth

"Hmmm, delicious. Where did you get this? ...wait , how much does this cost?" she asked, face lit up with curiosity.

"Ten million and freshly baked from france by one of the world's fameous bakers"

As expected, Maya sputtered and choked on her cake.

"Take these" I handed her a glass of water which she glugged ending her coughing fit

"This is what happens when you try to know a rich man's worth"

"Sorry, I'll never try to be Alice ever again" She teased.

"This is the life of the rich Maya , so don't beat yourself up so much.To us, money is nothing but numbers and you're gonna scream for joy after you see what I did with your wardrobe"

"What did you do, Nik?" Maya asked cautiously probably before she screams for joy

"I filled your wardrobe with every designer goody you could ever wish for"

Maya screamed but that definitely wasn't for joy.
