Solo Player Arvin Chapter 12

It turned out that the old man's name was Josh. He is a woodcutter in a village called the Bonies. While talking to the old man on their way home, Arvin was able to find out that city from which they came was called the Arcane city, the city of end and beginning.
The arcane city was the last city on the 1st floor. And beyond that city was Kalgan forest. It was called the last city as beyond that city, in the Kalgan forest was the infamous Ancession tower. Arvin didn't know what was the tower or what was its use. He was tired, hungry, and dehydrated. So he didn't hear all the blabbering that old man did.
Arvin had a thought that maybe that old man was tricking him or something. After all, not everyone is so benevolent in the world. He knew that. But still, he had followed that old man. He did it because he was tired of running away. For now, he would rather be in captivity than die a dog's death in a vast grassland.
That old man then told him about his history. He was the descendent of some warrior of the apocalypse period. After that warrior died his family moved to the Bonies. And they have been living there ever since. Like the warriors of the apocalypse age, their families tried to make warriors out of their children. But no one in their family was able to wield Morte Andort Neutron Amalgamations… MANA for short…
And for the rest of the road, the old man didn't stop his blabber for a second. But it was a good thing as his blabber helped Arvin to stay awake…
Arvin went to Bonies and then to the old man's house. The old man fed him some fruits, helped him take a bath, and then both went to sleep.

.........…..
The next morning Arvin woke up, finding himself in a makeshift bed made up of sheep skin. He then remembered the last day's events. As he remembered those events it was hard for him to digest that all the things that he encountered and experienced yesterday were all true. After all, this felt like a fairy tale to him.
Right now Arvin was in a small room. He was lying on a bed made of sheepskin. Last night Josh insisted that he should wash his clothes as well so that the smell of whatever god-awful thing that he was carrying would be washed away. That is he was lying naked in his room, while the old man Josh was lying in the adjacent room.
As he remembered every event that happened yesterday, a voice rang out in his head…
[Good Morning Host.]
'Good morning Dobby.' Arvin said in his mind.
[Does the host want to start the integration process of the Mischief system?]
'Sure. Do what you want.' Arvin said with a still little bit of sleep left in his eyes...
[Sure thing Host. Integration starts in 9…8…7…6….] As the Dobby was counting back, abruptly Arvin came to his senses. He opened his eyes wide open and screamed…
"WAIT FOR A F**KING SECOND YOU PIECE OF CUNT!!!" Arvin screamed.
[Integration process aborted.]
'You said that it would take 3 years before I could integrate the system/'
[That was true.]
'Then this is just my second day in this world. Why is integration starting now?'
[Host three years have already passed.]
'WHAT? No, it hasn't. Only one day has passed' Arvin said now confused. Then he had a terrible epiphany. What if he fell into some kind of coma? What if that old man recognized him as human and sold him out. Maybe they were keeping him sedated until three years have passed…

AS Arvin was thinking of various possibilities the gate of his room was flung open and old man Josh came in. Arvin figured that what Dobby said was true and he was kidnapped, Arvin snapped…
"You monster! What have you done to me? How long was I out?" Arvin asked while boiling with rage.
"Me? A monster? Well seeing your little brother down there I would have said that you are a monster. And as for how much time had passed?... I would say that we both have 9 hours of sleep. And let's go, it is time to start our work. Let's Go!" Josh said with enthusiasm. And he walked out of the room.
When Arvin heard Josh commenting on his little brother down there, his face became red in shame. Then as quickly as a rabbit, he covered it with his hands, Then as he heard his last sentence he got confused…
'What is going on Dobby? Why Josh is behaving as nothing has happened.'
[Host has to understand. 26 thousand hours were left in the timer according to the time of planet Zabala. Time runs faster there.]
'…'
[….]
'Wait for a F**king second. That title. Mischief System? I should have understood it a long time ago. After all, Mischief was in its name…' Arvin said as he had an epiphany about the so-called system…
[WARNING!!!]
[INTRUDER ALTER!!]
[Overriding GM's authority]
{You are a smart one, you know that?} Arvin heard a voice. That voice belonged to a man that had a bit of a British accent in his way of speaking. Arvin had a feeling that he heard this voice before. But he was not able to remember where exactly he had hear this voice.
'Who the hell are you? Dobby?'
{Didn't you get the message? I am an intruder. You can me Lopt}
'Lopt? As in the person that created Dobby'
{Right. That's me}
'Then why are you an intruder? Didn't you create him?'
{Ohhh… Smarty Pants…. Well, you see although I made him, I was never meant to be in touch with you. GM didn't give me such authority}
'GM?'
{GAME MASTER.}
'Game? Wait, this is a game?'
{Oh yes. Of course dear. But this game is meant to be played by us gods.}
'You are a God?'
{Yes.}
'Why am I here?'
{To play the game of course. You can think of it like this… The whole Yggdrasil is a chessboard. And you are my pawn}
'A pawn? Why? Why me?'
{Oh I don't have time and patience to answer your stupid little questions. Just remember. We gods can give you power that you can't imagine. But the condition is that you have to show us that you deserve it.}
'How do I show that'
{By fulfilling the task that I will give you in the future.}
'In the future?'
{Yes, full fill all your tasks. And you will be given all the power that you need to make your wishes come true…} Lopt said in an enchanting way…

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.

Mayhem of Magic
The world revolves around magic. The kingdom of Raekoft lives because of it. Magic is everywhere and flows through everyone and everything, seemingly with a mind of its own. Ritz Dravus is a 17-year-old teen with a rare potential in battle magic. After years of working and saving up money, he can finally attend the best magical academy in Raekoft, Liken Academy. If only he could enjoy his time there. Liken Academy is a place taken over by the upper class. A place where power rules supreme. Ritz’s humble beginnings will struggle in a place where social standing and power defines a person. Rittz will have to go through the usual school drama of making friends, keeping up with classes, dealing with crushes, fighting against bullies, growing insanity, magic manipulation, power scaling and the ever-looming threat of a neighbouring kingdom hungry for war. If magic is the first rule in this world, then mayhem would be the second. Author Note: This is a rewrite of Magic and Mayhem. I've taken a good look at where I would like to take the series and came to the conclusion that I would like to rewrite the story with a more set structure in mind. This is a full rewrite with elements like the story, style and characters changing slightly or completely. Please do give me a chance to provide all of you with a better story for all of you to enjoy. Thank you :)
