Black Tech Internet Cafe System Chapter 167 – No! The Next Update will be Next Week!
Translator: Noodletown Translations Editor: Noodletown Translations
While eating noodles, Nalan Hongwu watched the Peak Masters give Zhang Xiaofan the cold shoulder in the Grand Hall.
On the screen, Daoxuan finally said, “Junior Brother Tian, since the Grass Temple Village slaughter was first discovered by your disciple Song Daren, it seems that this kid is destined to go to your Big Bamboo (Da Zhu) Peak!”
The Big Bamboo Peak Master, Tian Buyi, was at a loss for words.
“They dumped Zhang Xiaofan to Big Bamboo Peak? I’m afraid that he will have a hard life there.” Nalan Hongwu stuffed a fork of noodles into his mouth and mumbled, “This is even better than the food specially made for me every morning?!”
“Oops! I have grease on my beard! I shouldn’t have eaten so fast!” Nalan Hongwu dug out a handkerchief to mop his white beard and complained.
It was about 7:30 AM, and the customers in the internet cafe at this hour had all come to watch Jade Dynasty.
Su Tianji was one of them. Yesterday, she heard a lot of good comments about Jade Dynasty and thus tried it herself. Then, she couldn’t get enough of it.
This morning, she hurried to the internet cafe with Fenghua and Yuexin before 7:30 AM.
“The shop is open so early today?”
“Sir! Did you update Jade Dynasty?” Swift as a gust of wind, she strode to the counter and asked Fang Qi with widened eyes.
“I did!” Fang Qi glanced around the shop and knew that Jiang Xiaoyue was probably just getting up. He had to wait until she came out before he could watch the fifth and the sixth episodes.
“Erm?” Su Tianji suddenly smelled a rich and special aroma. “Where is this aroma coming from?”

Different from warriors who ate a lot to increase their physical strength, cultivators usually ate very little except some elixirs or spiritual herb tea, so Su Tianji usually ate nothing during the day.
Of course, she had changed her habit after Fang Qi began to sell Haagen-Dazs.
And now…
“Instant noodles!” Fang Qi said, “Do you want one bowl?”
“Instant noodles?” Fenghua and Yuexin looked tempted. “Sir! We do!”
“We will buy three bowls.” Su Tianji glanced around. “Bring them to computer No. 3.”
“You must prepare the noodles yourselves!”
Su Tianji’s face turned dark, wondering why this shop operated in this way. In the past, they had to get the snacks at the counter, and now they had to cook the food they bought?!
If not for the mouth-watering aroma, she would have walked away!
“Fenghua, Yue Xin, you take care of the noodles.” With that said, she went to get a computer.
“Okay, Master!” Following Fang Qi’s instruction, they made three bowls of instant noodles. At this moment, disciples from Xiyi Academy and Shengjing Academy and Ye Songtao from Cloud Ocean Faction walked in.
They were all drawn toward the aroma.
Three minutes later, they each had a bowl of noodles in their hands.
Fenghua and Yuexin carried three bowls of instant noodles and placed one onto Su Tianji’s desk. “Master! The noodles are ready!”
Then, they began to eat cheerfully.
While eating the noodles, Su Tianji said, “Hurry up and open the show! Xiaofan finally entered the faction today! Slurp! Wow! It’s delicious!”
While forking noodles into her mouth, Fenghua opened Jade Dynasty. “Really?! Someone took in Xiaofan? Slurp!”
“Yeah! But that fat master looks fierce! Slurp!”
“I see the fat master too! Can he teach sword techniques? I want to learn them!”
“…”
“Ahh! I’m so full!”
“How come Xiaofan is the main character? I thought it was Jingyu!”

“Why does it only show Zhang Xiaofan?! Where’s the highly talented Lin Jingyu?”
The more they watched, the more curious they got. They had thought that both the kids were main characters or Lin Jingyu was the main character.
To their surprised, the dumb and dull Zhang Xiaofan was the main character?!
They wondered how the story would unfold and how this main character could turn into a big figure.
Subconsciously, they continued watching.
“Sir! Get us three bottles of Coke!” Still not satisfied, Su Tianji bought three bottles of Coke.
At this time, Fang Qi had begun watching the TV series, and Jiang Xiaoyue sat at the counter.
After getting the bottles of Coke, the three drank and talked among themselves while watching the show. “Master, these senior and junior brothers look nice, but this fat master looks fierce. Gulp!”
“I like our master better! Gulp!”
“Oh! The old monk told Xiaofan to dump the Bloodthirsty Bead, but he kept it as a souvenir. I wonder if anything bad will happen. Gulp!”
Su Tianji drank the bottle of Coke while watching. “He’s going to teach Tai Chi Mystic Pure Dao! The cultivation technique of the Green Cloud Faction! Belch!!”
“…”
Silence suddenly fell.
Since everyone was eating food, the people in the internet cafe all activated the environment simulation.
Fang Qi looked toward her.
On the other side, Nalan Hongwu looked toward her.
Even An Huwei and the others, who had just entered the shop looked toward her.
Su Tianji covered her mouth, wishing that she could kill all the people around her to stop them from staring at her.
Then, everyone looked back and continued watching Jade Dynasty.
It was quiet for about one hour.
On the screen, the bamboo forest looked serene and peaceful.
“This part is so serene. I want to eat something… Today, I haven’t eaten Haagen-Dazs yet…”
“The rich milky aroma…”
“Sir! Get us three containers of Haagen-Dazs!”
They ate the ice cream while watching. “Master, this monkey named Little Grey is so cute!”
“No! There’s something wrong with the Bloodthirsty Bead!”
“This short staff looks weird and evil. I have a bad feeling… Ugh??”
The story had come to the part where the Bloodthirsty Bead that Puzhi gave to Zhang Xiaofan was about to merge with the Soul Absorbing Staff, transforming into an evil staff named Swallowing Soul. This was an important turning point in Zhang Xiaofan’s life!
Su Tianji had just eaten a mouthful of Haagen-Dazs, and her long eyelashes shivered slightly. “How come the screen is black!!??”
The three of them who had been enjoying Haagen-Dazs and the TV series froze.
[If you want to know what happens next, stay tuned for the next episode!]
“The sixth episode is over?!”
“!!??”
Why does it always end at critical moments?!
“What on earth will happen to Xiaofan? You must let me finish this part!”
Nalan Hongwu, Su Tianji, and the others who sat near Fang Qi all looked toward him.
Meanwhile, Dong Qingli, the Royal Princess, and the others had also finished watching, and they walked up with murderous expressions.
“Sir! Where are the seventh and eighth episodes?!” Su Tianji asked with a dark expression.
“Aren’t there four episodes?! How come we can only watch two?!” Nalan Hongwu also glared at Fang Qi.
“We have four episodes only on the first day. After that, we only update two episodes!” Fang Qi said in earnest.
“What?!” Bookworm Dong Qingli couldn’t bear it anymore. She yelled, “Do we have to wait until tomorrow before we can watch the seventh and eighth episodes?!”
Fang Qi shook his head.
Seeing Fang Qi shaking his head, they thought that the situation wasn’t as bad as they had expected. While they stared at Fang Qi expectantly, he said, “The seventh and the eighth episodes will update next Monday!”

RE:WRITE
Fed up with a world where science has made every fantasy a reality and people just don’t care about stories anymore, a young video game developer named Kai uses ancient black magic to transport himself into one of his games, titled: Choices. Disturbed by his powerlessness on Earth, Kai makes sure to give himself the ability to change this new world as he sees fit, literally. If you were ridiculously powerful, would you throw away all your morals and do whatever you wanted?Would you find happiness? Would you find love? Or would you end up realizing that… Absolute power is pretty depressing. Note: The format for chapter titles is: “Overall_chapter_number POV_chapter_number: Chapter_title." Look at the POV chapter number to see who is narrating. Thanks to Ia-shub niggurath and peacefulcatastrophe for editing. Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
