The Numbers That Brought Our Fates Together Chapter 49: Are You With Me?
"You?!"
"These must be my words! What are you doing here at this time?" Elena didn't expect that he would turn out to be that stranger.
"My affairs do not concern you! Get out!"
"Just look at yourself first! And anyway, how are you talking to the elders?!"
The young man pushed Elena's hand away and got up from the bench, intending to leave.
"Hey, your name is Yun, right?"
"Oh, I'm flattered that you remember my name, miss. But please, be so kind and get out of my sight!"
"You, damn little brat!" Elena grabbed his ear and twisted it with all her strength.
"Ow, ow, ow!!! You idiot, what are you doing?" the young man instantly howled in pain.
"I may argue which of us is an idiot! Did you see yourself in the mirror at all?! Where would you go in such a condition?!" Elena grabbed his arm and dragged him in the direction of her car.
"Hey, you! Where are you taking me? You better not apply your stupid fighting tricks on me again!"
"Chill, I'm not in the mood to fight. But if you continue to be rude to a person who wants to help you, then blame yourself."
Elena brought Yun to the parking lot, walked over to the car and took out the first-aid kit. The guy, completely forgetting about his traumas, immediately rushed to the car and began exploring it with his eyes.
"Is this your car?! Damn me!! I wonder how much this baby costs! Holy molly, you are a silver spooner indeed! But what else to expect, knowing who your daddy is. Holy shit!! May I drive it a little?"

Elena silently watched as the boy was looking at her car with adoration in his eyes. She could not believe that a person's behavior could change so drastically in just a second.
"Sit on the bench. We must take care of your wounds first."
"Yes, ma'am," the guy followed the instructions of the girl obediently and sat down on a bench not far from the car. But his gaze was still on the bright red BMW.
"Hey, sis, can I sit inside the car at least, eh? I have never ridden in a car like this. It's a hybrid, isn't it? It also runs on electricity, right?"
Elena could not stand such a flow of words and gave him a flicking in the forehead. "Listen, they never told you that you talk too much? And why did you suddenly become so polite, although you very persistently was telling me to get out of your sight five minutes ago?"
The guy immediately stopped talking, feeling a little embarrassed. "Hey, even I know what it means to be grateful for the help. So you shouldn't make me look like a complete zero, ok? Especially…," he stopped for a second, coughed slightly and continued, "Especially since I don't personally have any problems with you. Besides, you helped me out with those guys. So, thank you," he added with a barely audible voice.
Elena smiled and stuck a plaster next to his lower lip. "What are you doing in the park at this time?"
"Well, it's because of that sadist! Tell me, how can such an attractive person have such a disgusting character? God obviously messed up something when he created him," Yun frustrated irritably.
"Are you talking about Alan or something?" Elena asked him in surprise.

"And do we have any other mutual acquaintances? I'm aware that you have known each other since childhood. So, think about it, he says to me *Your fighting skills make me feel ashamed and very sorry to the Masters, who created martial arts. You better go and get more training*," Yun quoted Alan's words imitating the voice of the latter.
Elena could not stand it and laughed out loud, "So you mean to say that you didn't think of anything wiser than to drag yourself to the park at night and get into a fight? Was it your practice?"
The guy frowned and defiantly turned away. Elena stopped laughing so as not to embarrass him even more. Silence filled the air. Suddenly… burrrr… the guy's stomach was growling so obviously. The boy's cheeks blushed even more. Burr… Yun clutched his stomach but continued to maintain a proud silence.
The girl sighed, 'He is still just a little kid.' Elena removed the first-aid kit and closed the door of the car.
"Let's go."
"Where to?"
"There is a 24/7 KFC nearby. I want to eat something. Are you with me?"
The guy stopped for a second, feeling surprised by her suggestion, but then his eyes lit up, he quickly jumped from the bench brightly shining with happiness like a Christmas tree. "Well, if you treat, then I don't mind that!" He answered happily and tagged along after the girl.

Blood Quest - A LitRPG
Leon's family has been diagnosed with a new type of incurable blood disease. It's an absolute death sentence and when it turns aggressive, you only have a few more years of painful life left to live. His mother has just begun the last years of the disease when a person supposedly comes back from death with supernatural abilities. He talks about a choice you get after death--get an extra chance to come back to life, or die. Even with Leon's diminishing life span, he won't consider the option of going there, until he meets another survivor who had the same goal as him and succeeded. Leon has a choice to make—die now for a chance to save his mother, or die in a few years, where the disease rapidly melts his muscles from his own body. He enters a game-like world, a sort of limbo, where his ultimate goal is to climb the tower of Katastroph before his mother's time runs out. There are a few problems with this though. The tower is almost impossible to beat, if you die you won't revive, and only three people in over twenty years have actually made it back. Leon has two years to climb the tower, with the help of the few people willing to try, while Ai, the tutorial guide, makes things harder for them. ***** The story starts pretty dark but goes onto a lighter tone. Then (more) dark again. Disclaimer: This story is an experimental project and I hope to get any and all feedback you can give me. Warning: First draft. Chapters tend to be between 3400-4100 words long (about 8-11 A4-pages). Mentioning it since I've seen it in other fictions :P Sometimes they're shorter, sometimes they're longer. ******************************** CHAPTER RELEASES UPDATE: As the first "book" in the series is done, I'm going to release coming chapters somewhat sporadically, and when Writathon ends, I'll probably go back to publishing one chapter per weekend. We'll just have to wait and see! I hope you enjoy the story! I really appreciate all comments and feedback, so if you have anything to say, feel free to voice it :) ************ [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
8 187Along for the Ride
Every child born on the continent of West Cartia is taught about the Great Goblin War but what the annals of history fail to mention is that the entirety of the conflict could be traced back to a group of four friends who stumbled into the currents of fate in search of a fantasy novel. This is the story of how a band of bookworms realized that when destiny pulled hard enough, struggling was futile; it was best to relax and go along for the ride. "A breezy, good time with all the trappings of high fantasy fun." - someone eventually (hopefully)
