The Numbers That Brought Our Fates Together Chapter 2: The Brightest Star In The Sky.
The hall was full of guests. Actors, musicians and other celebrities, famous politicians with their young offspring, businessmen with their girlfriends…
Such events were an ideal place for those who wanted to brag about their new acquisitions, be it a new yacht, or a new lover. John Barton, as a military minister, had many connections that would play into the hands of any ambitious man. That is why everyone so desperately tried to get to the birthday party of his beloved son.
The girl entered the hall. Dark brown hair curls fell below the shoulders, reaching the middle of the shoulder blades. The light peach-colored cocktail dress refreshed the girl's light and flawless skin and seemed to make her even tenderer. Emphasizing her young, but already very attractive curves, this peach color awakened the desire to touch its owner and to inhale the scent of this flower.
Several of the men standing nearby stood in a daze. Elena, without giving much attention to it, silently passed by and headed towards Corey.
"Just look at her!! Here is a cutie pie! Yowza! That is a real gift!! Come to me, dear, the hugs of tonight's number 1 guy are waiting for you!" As soon as the young man, with his arms outstretched, walked towards Elena for a strong hug, he was immediately blocked by Corey,
"Jason! Can you show some modesty at least for today?! You seem to have become older for one year but it looks like you lost quite a lot of your brain cells."
Seeing the annoyed face of Corey and Jason, who was looking away somewhere at the ceiling as if nothing had happened, Elena could not hold herself from bursting with laughter.

"Cory, relax. Today is his birthday, so his level of 'butterheadness' is higher than usual. Jason, happy birthday! Catch your gift." The girl touched the cheek of the birthday boy with her lips, leaving a light imprint of lipstick on his face.
"O God, I'm blessed! The Inaccessible Queen, Elena Lee, presented me with such a generous gift! That's it, from now on I will not wash for two days, no, for a week!" The man was beaming with joy.
Elena gave herself a facepalm, Corey looked at Jason from tip to toe, 'Now, what an idiot.'
"So, let's get down to business." Corey grabbed both hands and whispered, as being in the utmost secrecy, "Jason, where is he?"
"Who?" The young man scratched the back of his head, looking like he had no clue what she was talking about.
"Don't you 'who' on me! Who do you think I can ask about? Rick, Rick Stein!" Corey hissed at her friend. Just like a big fan of hot news, she couldn't let go the chance to watch the well-known lady-killer who has recently appeared on the horizon of their business circles.
"Who is it?" This time it was Elena's turn to ask this question.
"Look at you, my gal pal! Although such a bookworm like you may not know the name of the brightest star in the sky of hot and available guys. Listen. Rick Stein is the manager of the Berne Group, a US-German company that is now actively developing in our market. By the way, they recently signed a major contract with your father's company," the girl revealed the detailed info.
"Hmmm, I never heard about it," Elena's face depicted utmost bewilderment.
"Yes, and how would you! All day you hang out in your library. I'm generally surprised how you can remain so pretty if no one sees you except books. I would have covered with rust a long time ago if I were in your shoes, probably."

Corey sighed, realizing that her comment would have no effect on her friend's behavior. Then she turned her gaze toward where Jason was pointing.
"Ahhhhh!!! It's him! Here he is! Elena, look, look!! Here it is my number one guy in the list of my potential husbands! Goodness, this guy is a total package! He's got appearance, charisma, status. This guy has it all! How can he be so cool in his 27? I have to get to know him!"
Elena has not seen Corey so excited for a long time. Apparently, this guy was really worth the attention.
She turned her eyes, following Corey's, and froze.
The heart missed the beat. It seemed, for a moment, a noisy hall filled with deathly silence.
Ahead, on the other side of the room, was a man. The man she never expected to meet.
It was Him. The man from her dream.

The Dog with a Chair
As of now, this story is dropped. It was an excellent learning experience, but the quality suffered too much from me trying new things for me to continue in good concience. Thanks to anyone that read it. I'm leaving this story up as a record of my first ever attempt at publishing something I've wrote. To any new writers out there, remember that even if the stuff you write is trash, you can still learn a lot from writing it. - November 17th 2020 Guy gets involved in advocacy for civil engineering projects, then gets pulled into an interdimensional war. Third person with a focus on one main character (Stanley) with the occasional point of view from another character important to story progression. Writing style tends to shift early on as I figure out how to write (this is my first book). Still learning, hoping to improve. Current style choice is to have a focus on character dialogue/actions with interspersed internal monologue in italics. No current end is set for the story, with the primary goal of this project being to learn to express myself in a written format. Storyline is kept as consistent as practical while covering things I find interesting. Governmental systems are mentioned, but not explained in extreme detail. Sci fi elements are used to reinforce and guide plot progression as I'm able. Personal goals belonging to each character are in the process of being developed, with the hope that they will support or oppose each other in interesting ways later on. Hope you enjoy :)

Prime Magus of Earth
"In the beginning, I had no idea what was going on. My brother and friends were gone, my sight was gone, and yet I still saw things, things about this world that no one else knew. I'm not special, or gifted, anyone could have done what I did. I just got lucky, especially after everything that happened afterwards. Magic already existed, it always had. Humans just didn't know how to do it, didn't know how to nuture that small spark in them. Now you do." - Prime Magus of Earth, Alexander Sorin. November 2021 Update: So, it has been four years since I stopped working on this. Reading back, the first "book" is finished. It has what feels like an ending to an arc. Now it isn't a perfect story but I still like it and I can see myself starting the second book, might even this on Amazon or something. My biggest regret was never coming up with artwork for the cover though. Maybe I'll look into it.
