Chapter 244: So, will you follow me or not? 1
[Osiris is pulling the enemies in.]
[The living are unable to escape.]
Orisis’s strength exploded even stronger, making the black hole stronger as well.
It made strong gusts of wind swirl the area as if a typhoon had arrived.
“Ugh!”
The gusts were so strong that even adult men needed to grab onto something if they wanted to stay standing.
But they would not be sucked in even if they fell down. The only bastards to be sucked into this violent black hole were the ones whose names were written in the Book of the Dead.
Kwon Hyuk Soo, one of those people, ended up being sucked into the black hole.
“Chairman-nim!”
His subordinates were sucked in after him as well.
“Aaaaaah!”
Ilya could not close his mouth as he watched them disappear into the afterlife.
They really had disappeared from this world!
But at that moment…
“Ugh!”
The black hole started to go berserk after sucking in Kwon Hyuk Soo’s group.
[Warning. Osiris is trying to suck in humans whose names are not written in the Book of the Dead as well.]
[Everybody nearby is starting to be sucked in.]
Boom!
An even more ferocious gust of wind descended, so strong that trees were being pulled out by the roots and benches were flying around.
Divine-Grade artifacts were extremely difficult for humans to suppress.
Boom!
They tried to go berserk like this if the user put their guard down for a moment.
Booboboboooooooooom!
People lost control of their bodies because of the violent gusts.
Osiris had gone crazy with excitement that he was trying to drag everybody to the afterlife.
“Kyaaaa!”
As Ju-Heon’s team members were all about to be dragged into the afterlife as well… A desperate Julian started to shout.
“Seo Ju-Heon! Suppress Osiris’s artifact! Close the gate!”
Sadly, he didn’t know whether Ju-Heon could easily suppress such tremendous power.
Ju-Heon casually clicked his tongue.
“These damn doggies, do they really have to cause such a ruckus when I release their leash a bit?”
As Ju-Heon started to walk…
“Mmph!”
“Seol-A!”
The light Seol-A slid on the ground while being pushed by the gust before she started to fly away as if she was a plastic bag.
“Kyaaaa!”
“!”
Chloe, who had been standing next to her, tried to grab her.
She looked quite desperate to do so, making it seem as if they were much closer friends than people who didn’t even have each other’s numbers saved in their phones.
Unfortunately, this made Chloe start to fly away as well.
“Tsk!”
“Chloe!”
But the two of them soon stopped flying.
Grab!
Ju-Heon had grabbed both of them.
He grabbed Seol-A with his right hand while carrying Chloe, who flew directly at him, over his shoulder as if she was a sack of rice.
The two of them thanked Ju-Heon for saving them.
“Thank…… kya!”
There was another strong gust of wind and Chloe hugged Ju-Heon’s face out of reflex.
It made Ju-Heon say something before she could finish thanking him.
“Chloe. I can’t see.”
“?!”
Chloe, who was shocked at her own actions, quickly stopped hugging him.
It made Ju-Heon laugh.
“Why the hell did you hug him?”
“T… There was nothing to hold onto!”
Seol-A looked ready to shoot beams out of her eyes as she glared at Chloe. Ju-Heon told both of them to hold on tightly after hearing them argue.
“Stop arguing. You’ll fly away if you don’t hold on tightly.”
“E, excuse me?!”
Ju-Heon used his strong Dominance as soon as he said that. It was to suppress Osiris.
Boom!
“Ahhhhhhhh!”
The gusts of wind became even more ferocious once Ju-Heon started to suppress Osiris.
Ju-Heon pushed down on Osiris even stronger.
“This guy is so annoying. He’s always been a pain since his risk is paralyzing you as if you have rigor mortis.”
Of course, Osiris did not want to be suppressed.
[Maaaaaaaaster! Please let me play a little longer!]
‘Playing? What total bullshit. This isn’t playing.’
An artifact’s natural instincts made it want to harm and kill as many humans as possible. How could it not complain when Ju-Heon was forcibly trying to suppress that instinctual need?!
Osiris resisted Ju-Heon’s suppression.
[Let me play a little longer!]
“Shut up. I’m going to cancel all of the fan meetings.”
That made Osiris flinch.
[No! Anything but that! I’m sorr…!]
“Too late.”
Ju-Heon instantly made the Divine-Grade artifact submit, as if he was telling a pet that they would not get a meal.
Boom!
A violent Dominance slammed into Osiris!
[Aaaaaaaaaaah!]
Ju-Heon’s Dominance and Osiris’s artifact aura crashed into each other.
Shhhhhhhhhhh.
Orisis returned to its original necklace form after being suppressed.
This battle had been so scary that Seol-A had a blank expression on her face.
Chloe looked as if she forgot that she was still on Ju-Heon’s shoulder.
Julian was amazed at Ju-Heon.
‘It’s amazing that he managed to suppress that.’
As for Ilya, he could only stare at the spot where people disappeared through the Gate to the Afterlife.
‘That person really disappeared?’
This was not possible.
That man had been one of the strongest artifact users he knew.
People would faint if they found out!
Pandora was currently in a chaotic state.
“Sir, Chairman Kwon Hyuk Soo’s location suddenly disappeared!”
“What? What the hell are you talking about?!”
Pandora was able to track contracted artifact users’ locations at all times. The artifact users agreed to have their movements tracked in return for receiving numerous benefits from Pandora.
Pretty much all artifact users except Ju-Heon who told them to screw themselves were being tracked.
That was why they couldn’t believe what just happened.
“What do you mean Chairman Kwon Hyuk Soo disappeared?! What happened?!”
“He said he would go find the Monarch of Fate just thirty minutes ago!”
“Didn’t he say he met up with Seo Ju-Heon?”
“That, umm, apparently they noticed the aura of an Egyptian artifact where the Monarch of Love had been.”
“They said it was most likely a Divine-Grade artifact……”
Their eyes flashed with anger.
“Hold on! That’s Seo Ju-Heon’s go-to artifact!”
“Did Seo Ju-Heon-?!”
They became anxious.
Ilya was anxious as well.
‘They really disappeared into the afterlife.’
He had a lot of pent-up anger toward the Monarch of Love. He was happy about it, but……
‘He’s not someone who would go out this easily.’
Ilya gulped.
It was at that moment.
“Captain-nim, aren’t you at the Four Emperors level now that you took down that old man? Wow, that old man shouldn’t be able to come back!”
Ilya looked at Yoo Jaeha as if he was stupid.
“You retard. Do you really think that person went all out?”
“What?”
”He’ll return later. That person will be back.”

Ju-Heon started to laugh after hearing that part.
“That’s right. He should come back.”
“E, excuse me? What did you say?”
Ju-Heon’s gaze turned vicious.
“No. In fact, I want him to come back.”
“Excuse me? What do you mean you want him to come back……”
“I have some things I need to take from that lunatic.”
Kwon Hyuk Soo was a man who was skilled enough to turn TKBM into an Empire.
He was also a big fish in the United States. It was such a waste to get rid of someone like that so easily.
Furthermore…
“It was luck even though I managed to defeat him. That lunatic was injured and his Dominance should not have been at its usual level because of it.”
He had lost an arm. Even if Kwon Hyuk Soo had pretended to be calm, there weren’t many people who would maintain their mental fortitude after something like that.
Ju-Heon was thinking that he had simply used a great time to suppress Kwon Hyuk Soo.
But Julian just laughed internally after hearing his captain’s words.
‘Who knows? I don’t think it was luck.’
Why?
Kwon Hyuk Soo truly was strong. It was also true that his Dominance had been reduced because of the injury. However, it was clear when he looked through Kongming’s artifact.
Although Kwon Hyuk Soo was injured, Ju-Heon’s level could already be considered at the Four Emperors level even if that factor had been removed.
He was definitely strong enough to fight against and defeat the almighty monopolizers.
That made Julian scared of Ju-Heon but also made him laugh.
‘It would be bad if he couldn’t even become one of the Four Emperors.’
Yoo Jaeha and he were Monarchs. They were fellow Monarchs with Ju-Heon.
It did not make sense for someone at their same level to be the captain.
It would not be weird even if they asked to switch captains.
Ju-Heon soon started to speak.
“Anyway, I stuck the lunatic who would get in our way of getting the Heirlooms in the afterlife for now.”
“Then all that is left is to use the Monarch of Fate to go to the Monarch’s Tomb then.”
Chloe peeked toward Ilya as she said that.
“Is that why you used the Raven’s artifact on Ilya?”
Everybody turned toward Ilya.
“That’s right. We will use the Monarch of Fate to spread false information.”
Unfortunately, Seostradamus’s TV program was not enough to do that. The Monarch of Fate had to personally appear on TV to make the others believe.
But there was no way that the Monarch of Fate would do as they wanted and say what they wanted him to say on TV.
Yoo Jaeha could disguise himself but the appraisers weren’t complete idiots, so they needed a more certain method.
‘Memory modification.’
They would be able to use the Monarch of Fate as they pleased. They needed a professional who could modify the memories of Monarchs to do that.
“Ilya, we need your ability.”
“!”
Ilya, who was called out by Julian, opened his eyes wide. He then started to frown as he responded.
“Does that mean you want us to be a team again?”
That made Yoo Jaeha chuckle thinking that this bastard would get a slave contract as well.
“Captain-nim! Shall I prepare the contract? Do you want the consequence to be death?”
“No, Ilya is good for now.”
Yoo Jaeha was completely shocked after hearing that and started to mumble while standing with his head down.
“This is discrimination, complete discrimination……. I treat the Captain-nim better…… I’m more useful……”
Yoo Jaeha peeked toward Ju-Heon before starting to draw something on the ground with his foot.
Julian didn’t care and started to speak to Ilya again.
“He’s not here but we also found Dan. Our entire tomb entering team would be complete if you join us as well.”
Ju-Heon’s tomb raiding team had a total of 10 members.
7 of them were the official tomb entering members. They would be extremely important in getting the Heirlooms and excavating tombs from here on.
Julian was convincing Ilya in Ju-Heon’s place.
“So why don’t you join us again……”
But Ilya lamented in a loud voice.
“Are you crazy?”
“What?”
“I got a good look at the Captain’s skills. But that’s why you’re fucked. That lunatic will chase after the captain when he manages to get out of the afterlife. He’ll keep badgering the captain to be his disciple. That old man’s followers won’t let him be for a different reason.”
Ilya turned around as if he wanted to move away.
“It’ll be annoying to get involved with you guys. Furthermore, the Captain treats people like shit. The rest of the team members are shitty as well. An intelligent type like me is going to go look for an easier Monarch to work for.”
This was an opportunity for him.
‘It’s a chance to live a new life.’
Yoo Jaeha’s eyebrows started to twitch after hearing Ilya’s response.
He expected this from Ilya.
This was one twisted bastard after all.
There was no way he would join the team again so easily.
At that moment… Ilya prepared to fly away using Solomon’s artifact as he had an annoying smile on his face.
“Either that or let me be the captain of the tomb raiding team. Then I might join.”
He said that because he knew Ju-Heon would never agree to it.
Yoo Jaeha sighed and took something out after hearing that.
It was a familiar contract.
Yoo Jaeha had created it and started to snicker.
“Ha, this punk. Why does someone so smart is acting so stupid and digging his own grave?”
“……?”
Yoo Jaeha started to laugh out loud as if he had not been sulking just now.
“You retard! The Captain-nim was being nice to you and was not going to make you sign a slave contract but what? You stupid idiot! You just slammed his generosity in his face!”
‘What?’
“A slave contract? What do you mea…ugh!”
It was at that moment.
Crack! Crackle! Crack!
Ily’s precious artifacts started to be destroyed one by one!
Solomon’s artifact was no exception!
The artifacts started to cry as they were being destroyed by Ju-Heon’s Dominance.
[$#&!]
Aigoo! Aigoo! Seo Ju-Heon, you bastard!
[$#&*$!]
Stop destroying us! My bones are breaking because of you!
Ilya gasped.
‘Wait, this is an extremely precious artifact!’
Ju-Heon smirked without caring about what Ilya was thinking.
“I will add some special conditions just for you before you sign the contract.”
“……!”
The smart Ilya’s instincts let him know what Ju-Heon meant by that.
He could tell that those special conditions would not be beneficial to him.
He turned completely pale before he knelt down in front of Ju-Heon.
“N, no sir. I’m really sorry. I said the wrong thing. I don’t need anything else so please just accept me as a team member ag……”
Ju-Heon smiled brightly at him.
“It’s too late, you son of a bitch.”
Next came a terrible scream.
Maybe this was what Ju-Heon had been planning from the beginning.

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.
