Chapter 173: The Pharaoh's Curse 6
Julian was shocked after seeing the three artifacts.
‘Those artifacts are… Divine-Grade!’
They were Divine-Grade artifacts that would be ranked high among all Divine-Grade artifacts. They were artifacts that could not be tamed by regular people. Even he and the other Monarchs would find it difficult to subdue these artifacts.
But Ju-Heon had a firm grasp on these ferocious artifacts.
He couldn’t help but be awed.
‘His Dominance has gone up even higher than in the past.’
He could tell for sure after recovering his memories. It was not just his Dominance.
Ju-Heon’s skills in handling artifacts were much more stylish and had upgraded from the past. That was why Julian was happy, but well…
“Will you be okay? There seem to be a lot of dangerous auras.”
“It’s fine.”
“I guess there’s no point in worrying about you. You already know about this test anyway.”
“No, it’s not that.”
‘Huh?’
Julian started to frown but Ju-Heon just kicked a stone door by the wall instead of responding.
The door opened to reveal a vast desert. They could feel the intense desert heat. There was a dry sandy breeze as well.
The team members were shocked to see this environment.
“Why is such a place…?!”
Seol-A, who had come here in her past life with China, found this to be odd.
“There should be coffins here…! That’s how we cleared it.”
Ju-Heon remembered the same thing. He had not been able to go inside in the past because someone else came first, but this place had been a room full of coffins and treasure.
There were tens of golden coffins lined up in a large room and Ju-Heon had to find a special treasure inside. Of course, that required him to open the pharaohs’ coffins.
The people who opened the coffins would be cursed and die from illnesses.
Basically, the test was to survive the curses and find the treasure.
‘Well, we could get through here quickly if Chloe was here.’
She was a member of the tomb raiding team and basically the team’s personal doctor. She was an extremely skilled doctor. Anyway, the test seemed completely different than in the past.
“Do you think the future has changed?”
Ju-Heon chuckled after hearing Seol-A whisper.
‘No. That’s not the case.’
“These bastards. They have no thoughts about giving the test at all.”
Ju-Heon started to smirk.
That was right. This tomb had been created to get rid of him. There was no way they would create the test.
The team members became wary after realizing that fact.
However…
“Stop moving.”
“Excuse me?”
“You guys stay here and be my backup.”
Seol-A eyes opened wide.
“Excuse me? But we need to make them give the test…!”
Every so often, there were artifacts that would not give their test. There was a method they used when that happened.
But Ju-Heon shook his head.
“That method won’t work. Furthermore, I am never going to do any of the tests that these arrogant artifact bastards create ever again.”
“Ex, excuse me? But…!”
“I’m going to kiss all of you if you guys move without my order.”
Yoo Jaeha started to swear and told him to hurry up and please go on his own, while Seol-A and Irene both tried to follow him before flinching.

The reason behind it was simple.
Since he said he would kiss all of them…
‘That means he’ll also kiss Irene…’
‘He’ll also kiss Miss Seol-A…’
The two of them decided ‘whatever’ and tried to help Ju-Heon, but Julian stopped them.
“Leave that artifactphile to deal with the artifacts. There’s something we need to do for him.”
He seemed to have felt some pity for Ju-Heon.
‘He might not show it, but he does seem to have some trauma.’
It wasn’t that his subordinates were weak.
Ju-Heon should know that better than anybody else, but he probably kept remembering what happened. He couldn’t forget the things that happened in the final tomb.
It was a tomb where nothing they knew worked.
The image of his friends dying terrible deaths one by one was probably ingrained in Ju-Heon’s head.
‘It’s probably even worse since his memory is better than most people.’
Seeing a tomb like this with that memory…
‘The aura alone says that is quite a dangerous tomb.’
It wasn’t as dangerous as that Crow’s tomb, but the difficulty of this tomb has gone up significantly because of the Supreme Leader’s interference.
There was no way Ju-Heon would take his subordinates farther in with him.
‘He might not show it, but he cherished his subordinates a lot.’
He had just considered Ju-Heon to be a crazy son of a bitch prior to recovering his memories, but he could not tell.
There was a sword growing inside Ju-Heon’s heart. That was the reason he did not just kill Chairman Kwon.
Why?
‘He won’t be satisfied with something so small.’
In fact, the power of wrath, the fact that Chairman Kwon was still alive, was probably the reason Ju-Heon could grow stronger so quickly.
Well, that old son of a bitch had an immortal armor so stabbing him over and over wouldn’t kill him anyway.
Maybe that was the reason.
‘It looks like I need to help him find Chairman Kwon’s weakness.’
Julian said something as Ju-Heon started to walk toward the throne.
“Seo Ju-Heon. I don’t really care whether you die or not, but…”
“Vice Captain-nim!”
Yoo Jaeha was like, ‘what the hell, since when is he our Vice Captain?’ after hearing Seol-A shout.
He couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
“I’m going to take all of your artifacts if you die.”
Ju-Heon became angry.
“Get lost. Do you think I would accept some bullshit about how you’ll use it for the betterment of society or something?”
“Then be careful of what is under your foot.”
“I know without you having to tell me! You stupid idiot!”
The ground started to shake and something large popped out at that moment.
[You are not qualified to enter this tomb! You thieving bastard!]
Ju-Heon turned his head to see large snakes pointing their venomous fangs toward him.
[Get lost!]
[A bastard like you who has contracted with the Crow is not qualified to even take the test!]
The large snakes the pharaoh’s were controlling flashed their eyes and charged toward Ju-Heon.
“Captain-nim!”
“Mr. Ju-Heon!”
As Irene and Seol-A, who was taking down a timed trap, were about to use their artifacts…
Boom!
[Aaaaaaaaaaaah!]
One of the large snakes was sliced in half and fell to the ground.
Ju-Heon was standing in front of the fallen snake with a large spear. It was an S-Grade artifact of the Khitan people. It was extremely destructive.

But Ju-Heon threw the spear away without any hesitation.
“Damn it, it’s useless.”
Julian, who had been amazed by the strength of the spear, gasped in shock.
“Hey! Seo Ju-Heon! Why are you throwing such a precious thing away?!”
‘Why else?’
“It’s not my style since it’s too heavy.”
“What?!”
Ju-Heon walked up to another snake as Julian asked that question. The snake opened its jaw and tried to attack Ju-Heon.
[You bastard!]
Ju-Heon took out a retractable dagger that looked like something that MacGuyver might have.
[Dagger of the Corrupt Officials (Ten Attendants) who would even suck away your tears]
Ju-Heon brought out the blade and stabbed it into the snake’s head.
Puuk!
[Ahhhhhhhhhhh!]
The snake’s skin started to become stiff starting from the spot it was stabbed. It was becoming completely dry!
Ju-Heon seemed extremely happy as he watched.
“Yes, I like things like this. Now I don’t have to worry about emergency rations!”
Ju-Heon landed on the ground once the snake that had turned into stiff jerky fell to the ground. The other snakes would naturally not stand still after watching what had happened.
[You bastard, how dare you turn my friend into jerky!]
Unfortunately, they just ended up as great opponents for Ju-Heon to experiment with his artifacts.
Puuk! Puuk!
He tested a total of 20 artifacts he had received from the gatcha game.
“Good, test completed. They’re all useful.”
As he was saying that…
[Human, stop doing as you please!]
The tomb’s owners showed up after being unable to sit back and watch any longer. The kings that had been sitting on their asses had finally started to move.
[You are truly fitting to get along with that Crow bastard.]
[You extremely crude bastard!]
Fancy buildings started to appear in the empty desert.
The pharaohs of the past appeared on the radiant Egyptian buildings.
As the Valley of the Kings was a common burial site, over twenty pharaohs had appeared. Although they had eventually fallen to the Roman Empire, they were the kings of Egypt, the civilization by the beautiful Nile River.
Their majestic demeanor and elegance… Their strong auras could be felt.
Unfortunately, none of that mattered.
“No matter how strong they are, they are still only human.”
Ju-Heon started to confidently walk toward them. Of course, the pharaohs started to laugh after seeing his reaction.
[You truly are as Anubis-nim mentioned.]
[This bastard will not be able to enter any tomb from now on.]
[Yes, there will be no artifacts that are willing to give you a test any longer.]
[All artifacts are boycotting you at the Supreme Leader’s orders.]
Ju-Heon started to smile after hearing something interesting.
“Really? Are you saying that you guys put me on a blacklist?”
Basically, they were restricted from letting him enter into tombs while other people would be allowed. They were restricted from giving him their test. They were restricted from being used by Seo Ju-Heon. Everything was restricted, RESTRICTED!
This was the Supreme Leader’s orders.
[You are someone who will become a disaster to us in the future.]
[Every tomb will be a cell for you from now on!]
[There is no way you will become the king of the artifacts!]
[Soldiers of the king! Rise! Kill this bastard and recover the power of the Sun God that the Crow has consumed!]
The Pharaohs’ army showed up once they shouted. The ground split open and the soldiers had risen from underground.
[Fight for our king!]
[For the glory of our great king!]
There were tens of thousands of soldiers!
Yoo Jaeha foamed at the mouth after seeing them while the other team members tried to run toward Ju-Heon. As Irene was about to quickly use the power of destitution as well…
Bang!
An aura exploded and the pharaohs started to scream.
[The cruel god of war and destruction who sheds no blood nor tears has descended.]
[The king of the underworld who controls the book of the dead has descended.]
[The god of death who leads the souls of the dead has descended.]
The aura coming off these three artifacts were amazing.
Ju-Heon had summoned three Egyptian artifacts. The pharaohs’ artifacts were shocked at their appearances.
[Those esteemed beings are!]
Their auras had been hidden until now, but their aura as Divine-Grade artifacts could not be hidden any longer and exploded out now that they were activated.
Three dogs had appeared.
Osiris, the Lord of the Underworld.
Set, the god of destruction and violence.
Anubis, the god of the afterlife.
They currently looked like dogs but their demeanor and strength seemed much different than usual. It was because Ju-Heon had released their powers to level 3, the ultimate level.
“Ah, it took some time filling the contract requirements.”
The pharaohs and their slaves couldn’t believe what they were seeing after these three Divine-Grade artifacts appeared.
[Fucks, why do those esteemed beings…!]
[Lord Anubis was the one who told us to create this tomb!]
[It doesn’t matter, they are the gods of our civilization!]
[We do not need to fear them!]
However, the pharaohs couldn’t help but start to scream soon. It was because an overbearing aura of Divine-Grade artifacts started to surround the tomb.
The pharaohs became anxious after realizing that the gods looked ready to rip apart this tomb.
[Hold on, oh gods of our people. Why are you doing this to us?!]
Ju-Heon started to shout after hearing that question.
“Why else?! Who cares if you guys don’t give the test? I can just drag you all out by your heads.”
[W, what?]
“This is why you guys should have served your gods some chicken and pay them tribute. They’re angry that you guys have been ignoring them all this time!”
[Wait, that’s not right. This…!]
“You guys are mere humans. Do you really think you can stand up to your gods?”
A vicious sandstorm appeared as soon as Ju-Heon said that. The vicious attack destroyed the tomb.
The doggies that had finished contracting with Ju-Heon started to snicker as they heard the pharaohs’ scream.
[Master. 4 boxes of chicken for making those bastards shut up, yeah?]
Osiris started to rebuke Set.
[You stupid idiot who only thinks about food. Our reward should be I.A.I.! How about a fan meeting with them?]
Anubis just sighed while looking at them but what could it do?
‘This is my fate.’
They had already betrayed the Supreme Leader. Ju-Heon happily accepted their request.
“I’ll get you a box of each brand. I’ll set up a fan meeting and rent out a whole building. I’ll make sure to ask them for extra radish and a monthly subscription for on demand.”
[As you ordered! Master!]
Osiris and Set who had been trained properly, as well as Anubis that did not want a second round of the training from hell, returned to their original appearances.

Dungeon Crawler Katia
The aliens killed everyone on Earth...almost. Every structure, from the Taj Mahal to the lowliest lobster trap, vanished into the earth, killing everyone inside. The survivors were given a choice: Endure on the surface without food or shelter or tools, or descend into a world-spanning nightmare dungeon that is also a reality TV show. Katia, an art professor from Iceland who has given up her humanity to transform into a shapeshifting doppelganger, meets up with Carl and his cat, Donut. Together, the three fight to survive in a dungeon filled with Clarketech goblin murderdozers and pyramid-scheme fairy moonshine-makers. The above is, of course, describing Dungeon Crawler Carl. With DoctorHepa's (the author) permission I'm posting some fanfic to expand on Katia, one of the secondary characters who started off not getting as much exploration as I would have preferred. I started off writing chapters that matched up to canon except from her POV instead of Carl's; that lasted a couple of chapters before going off the rails and spinning off into a completely new story, which suggests I should really go back and renumber all the chapters as soon as I find some tuits.
