Chapter 320: The Difference Is Apparent, a Gang Fight Breaks Out
General Zod was furious.
There were few Kryptonians at first. Every one of them had worked very hard. It had taken them a hundred years to grow their population from sixteen to over a thousand on Atlantis.
However, Ling Jiu had snatched over 300 of them away at once, directly reducing the number of Kryptonians by one-third. How could General Zod not be furious?
It had taken the Kryptonians thousands of days and nights of hard work to achieve this.
“Godd*mn thief! I will smash you into dead meat, grind your bones to dust, and torture your soul night and day!” There was a murderous look in General Zod’s eyes.
“I don’t like bloodshed,” Ling Jiu said. “I will not kill you or the rest. Instead, I will capture you all and modify your mindset, turning you all into my most loyal slaves to serve me forever.”
After he said that, he smiled before he added, “Do you know what happened to the 300 Kryptonians whom I have captured?”
“Let me tell you, they are still alive, enjoying their lives as my slaves.”
“What did you just say?” General Zod’s face changed drastically. “You said they are still alive?”
“Of course.” Ling Jiu still had a smile on his face. “Would you like to see them? I can grant you the wish.”
He waved his hand and released the 300 or so Kryptonians from the Floating Island.
These captured Kryptonians had hardly changed in their appearance. So, General Zod instantly recognized them.
He was very excited. “Good, good! You are all still alive.”
The other Kryptonians were excited too. However, what the 300 Kryptonians did subsequently shocked General Zod and all the other Kryptonians.
The 300 Kryptonians went down to their knees in front of Ling Jiu. “At your service, Master.”

“Asaro, what the hell are you doing?” General Zod asked in anger. “You are all noble Kryptonian warriors. How can you kneel for a lowly human aborigine? Get up!”
“How dare you!”
General Zod just spoke as he always did. Sadly, he and the 65 other Kryptonians did not expect the Kryptonian named Asaro behind Ling Jiu to shout at him. “How dare you be disrespectful to our master, zealot! Do you want to die?”
“What the hell did you just say, Asaro?”
General Zod and the other 65 Kryptonians thought they had heard it wrong.
“As I said, they have been transformed into my most loyal slaves. They have only one thought, to carry out my will,” Ling Jiu said. “In their minds, I am God and a supreme being, and my dignity is inviolable.”
General Zod took a deep breath, and his voice filled with endless anger as well as hatred. “Human, I will tear you into pieces!”
“Oh, yeah? I’m afraid you can’t do that—not in this lifetime.” Ling Jiu laughed out loud. “Don’t worry, like I said, I won’t kill you. But I will make you the same as them.”
Ling Jiu stomped his feet on the roof of the pantheon, and the pantheon, which was built of gold, collapsed with a rumble, turning into a pile of ruins. Meanwhile, Ling Jiu faded into a stream of light and shot toward General Zod and others.
“D*mn! Is he going to fight 66 opponents alone?”
“Strong! He is so strong!”
“I’m so nervous, my palms sweating. Come on, Ling Jiu. The future of Earth is in your hands!”
“You can do it, Ling Jiu! You will kill those Kryptonians!”
“Die, human!”
General Zod charged forward at once.
He was nearly two meters tall, and his knotted muscles burst with explosive power, as though they were cast from rigid steel.

“Ling Jiu, this guy named General Zod is second to the Kryptonian named Kal next to him.” Leoux’s voice rang in Ling Jiu’s mind. “He is a super-cluster Level 6. Be careful.”
“I know what I’m doing,” Ling Jiu replied.
“Human, I want you dead!”
General Zod appeared in front of Ling Jiu in a flash, summoning all his strength as he struck out a punch, as if a round shot fired from a large-caliber gun.
“You want to fight? I’m not afraid of you.”
Ling Jiu howled with laughter as he struck out a punch to meet General Zod.
The Saiyan Golden Ape clone might be galactic Level-7 only, which was significantly lower than General Zod, but Ling Jiu had no fear.
A terrifying power gushed out from all over his body and finally gathered in his right fist to greet General Zod’s punch.
Clash!
The two fists collided with a loud pow. A burst of violent shock waves spread out from the point of collision in all directions. The surrounding void was torn apart like a piece of fragile paper.
The sky above the pantheon turned into a black hole while both Ling Jiu and General Zod were forced back at the same time.
Ling Jiu retreated as far as dozens of miles, while General Zod only a few hundred meters.

The difference in strength was apparent.
Apparently, General Zod was better than Ling Jiu in terms of brute-force strength.
Nevertheless, it still shocked General Zod. “Human, you are much better than I thought, but that is it. I won’t let you continue to grow. Die now!”
General Zod faded into a stream of light once again. He gathered all his strength, intending to kill Ling Jiu on the spot.
The corners of Ling Jiu’s mouth curled up in a strange smile and powerful energy burst out of his body as he struck again.
Bwoom!
It was another horrible collision with the void exploding into a black hole again. The released energy was even more violent than the last time. But the outcome surprised everyone.
General Zod, who had gotten the upper hand in the first round, lost. His right arm broke apart like fragile glass.
“How could this be possible?”
His face changed drastically. The other 65 Kryptonians watching the battle in the distance were equally shocked.
“Didn’t the general have the upper hand just now? Why did he lose this time?” A Kryptonian wondered.
No one knew why, except for General Kal. His face was grave. “Apparently this cunning human was concealing his strength earlier.”
“Concealing his strength?”
All the Kryptonians’ faces sank. “This despicable human!”
“I didn’t know that you’ve achieved this level of strength!” General Zod stared dead at Ling Ji as shock, horror, and disbelief flashed in his eyes.
“I only used one-tenth of my strength the first time we clashed…” Ling Jiu smirked. “…and half this time.”
“How could this be possible?” General Zod’s face was grave.
“I told you, you don’t stand a chance.”
Ling Jiu flicked his fingers. “Kryptonians like you are all destined to be my living puppets and serve me forever.”
“Bullsh*t!” General Zod roared angrily “Kill him for me, everyone!”
General Zod knew he was no match for Ling Jiu. He could only pin his hope on his men, joining hands together to kill Ling Jiu.
“Aye, General!”
Some Kryptonians shot towards Ling Jiu without any hesitation, while some looked over at General Kal in unison.
“General, what shall we do?”
“Kill him,” Kal slowly said. “This human is too unusual. He must die now, or else, he will pose endless trouble to us.”
“Aye, General!”
The remaining Kryptonians lunged out to join the gang fight.
“Come on, let’s have a good fight!”
Ling Jiu guffawed as he lunged up to meet those Kryptonians. A world-shaking battle broke out at once.

2nd Chance
It's my first time writing a story so you might spot a lot of amateur mistakes but feel free to criticize my writing as much as you like. Anyways, to give you a quick idea of what the story is all about, the original title of this novel was supposed to be "The Yankee in Another World" but when I thought about writing that in the cover I immediately thought 'HELL NAW' and went with a different one and I feel like the new title captures the essence of this story more. because although it's categorized as an Isekai, the story is more focused on redemption rather than the Isekai fantasy. Hopefully, I'll be able to update this synopsis once I thought of one.

Any resemblance between anything in this novel and the plane of reality we live in is purely coincidental. Was that a bit over the top and a wee bit unnecessary? Maybe. 2) This story features an antihero with a slight hint of villainy. So, sooner or later, it’s going to get dark. Very dark. Hence all the tags. If you are prone to be squeamish, this might not be for you. Well. You were warned. ;)
