Chapter 315: Global Attention, Battle Breaks Out
Staring at the young man’s face, listening to the young man’s words, the online world went into a state of delirium.
“How could it be him? Didn’t he go missing? How come he has suddenly popped out?”
“It turns out that this guy is not a Kryptonian at all, but Ling Jiu. D*mn! We were all deceived by him.”
“It’s Ling Jiu! It’s him! He’s back!”
“Ling Jiu is back at last! I knew that he’d be back. Ooh, he’s back, he’s finally back!”
“At first I thought this Kryptonian was weird, wondering why he did not stay in America but came to the pantheon. Damn, it turns out that he is a Kryptonian.”
“Is it me or is Ling Jiu overly powerful? He just killed three kings of the gods!”
Shocked.
Surprised.
Excited.
Netizens around the world watching the live streaming went into a frenzy. Those bullet titles fell like snowflakes on the screens, almost overwhelming the servers handling the live streaming.
“I knew this guy would not die!”
In Pangu Arcana Combine Building in Chang’an Base City, Li Kai was crying and laughing as he looked at the screen and plunged into endless excitement.
On the highest floor of the building, Ai Yuhe looked at the young man on the computer screen and let out a faint sigh. A hint of regret mixed with shock appeared on her face.
“I didn’t expect that he would become so powerful in just ten years. I am now not even qualified to look up to him.”
Beijing Base City.
Zhou Ji, who had become the middle-level leader of Pangu Arcana Combine, was also watching the live streaming.
When he saw the young man turning out to be Ling Jiu on the screen, he could not help but shake his head and forced a smile. “This guy is finally back. Just that his strength…”
Japan.
Sixty years ago, Japan was annihilated because of the rise of direbeasts. Many people died and only a few rich people and those who had gone abroad escaped.

These Japanese were scattered around the world, becoming immigrants in foreign countries.
But with the birth of the Japanese gods, many Japanese returned to the islands of Japan.
They wiped out the direbeasts in an attempt to reestablish the country with the help of the Japanese gods.
Hirano Hatake was one of them.
He was a talent trained in the Super Matriculation Camp. After the birth of the Japanese gods, he betrayed Pangu and defected to the Japanese pantheon.
In his own words to comfort himself, he said, “My life goal is to restore my country. Now that the opportunity is here, I will not miss it.”
Hirano Hagi believed all along that he had made the right choice.
Especially when the major pantheons had defeated stellar beings like Emperor Might and Vulcan, Hirano Hatake knew that there was a hope for reestablishing the country of Japan and he could play an important role.
He was even appreciated by the Japanese pantheon and chosen as the son of god.
As long as he becomes a stellar life, he would be deified, becoming a supreme god.
But he suddenly regretted it at this moment.
…
“He turns out to be an Earthling.”
Zod and Kal exchanged a glance with each other. They both saw surprises in each other’s eyes. No wonder they did not recognize him; he turned out to be an earthling impersonator.
“This guy is so daring to pretend to be one of us. He is foolhardy!” Zod snorted. There was a fleeting bitterness in his eyes.
“I read his file,” Kal said in a low voice. “His name is Ling Jiu, the first genius on Earth. I heard he took only two years to become a stellar being.”
“Two years? Stellar being?” Zod’s brows were knitted together tightly. Earthlings could not compare with Kryptonians in terms of strength. But Earthlings had great potential and talent.
Stellar beings had appeared after Earth had only developed for 50 years. No one knew how far they could go if this momentum continued.
So Zod thought he had already overestimated Earthlings.
But he never expected that someone on Earth could become a stellar being in two years.

“What is more terrifying is that he went missing for less than 10 years, and when he reappeared, he was already a super-clustered being. He could not challenge you and me,” Kal slowly said. “This earthling has incredible talent. If he continues to grow, even Kryptonians like us will find it difficult to gain a foothold on Earth.”
“Then let’s just kill him.” Zod gritted his teeth. “Earth is a very amazing planet connected to many wormholes. It is going to be the new home for us, the Kryptonians.”
“I will allow no one to stop the rise of Kryptonians on Earth. No one can.”
“Then let’s do it.” Kal took a deep breath. “Kill him in the cradle before he has fully grown up. Otherwise, it will be too late.”
“Yeah.” Zod nodded vigorously and shouted his order. “Someone, gather all the super-clustered beings and follow me to Mount Olympus!”
“Aye, General!”

…
All eyes from around the world were on Ling Jiu. It was also at this moment that the earthlings became worried.
Can Ling Jiu defeat the gods?
People just rubbernecked when Ling Jiu was impersonating a young Kryptonian. They did not care who would win the battle. They were happy to see both sides fight each other to death.
But now, the Kryptonian had turned out to be Ling Jiu, and people could no longer rubberneck—Ling Jiu was their own kind.
There would be trouble if Ling Jiu lost.
“Everyone, do you think Ling Jiu can win?”
“Ling Jiu must win! He had better win. Or else, our earth will have no more hope.”
“Since Ling Jiu dared to come, it means he has confidence in his own strength. I believe he can defeat the gods and wipe out the Kryptonians!”
“Absolutely! Ling Jiu will definitely win!”
“Beat the hell out of them, Ling Jiu!”
…
“It doesn’t matter if you are an earthling or a Kryptonian!” Zeus slowly said, “You must die today!”
A powerful energy burst out of the twelve kings of gods as soon as his voice trailed off. It swept across the entire pantheon and then spread outside in all directions.
Many journalists felt their chests tighten, as if they were carrying a boulder. They could not help but go down to their knees. Even the gods in the pantheon were forced back at once.
Only Ling Jiu was still standing still. The energy force felt like a breeze blowing into his face.
“Bring it on. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time.”
Ling Jiu rose into the air. He performed a Blink Arcana and appeared in the air outside the pantheon.
The twelves kings of the gods faded into dozens of streams of light to come to the outside and encircled Ling Jiu. “Don’t ever think of getting away, you mortal!”
“Die!” Zeus roared. A silvery thunderbolt struck down from heaven like a thunder dragon with a loud clap and struck Ling Jiu.
“Mortal, you have sinned!” Odin was wielding a scepter and pointed at Ling Jiu with it. A golden rainbow tore through heaven and earth like a peerless divine sword to strike at Ling Jiu.
“Alala!” Poseidon wielded his trident with a water dragon formed by blue tadpoles on the surface slamming into Ling Jiu.
“Go to hell, human!” A pair of black mist wings spread out behind Hades, the god of the underworld. Countless black giant claws shot out from the wings and grabbed at Ling Jiu.
“Eat this, human!” Thor, the god of thunder; Ra, the god of the sun; Horus, the god of the sky; Anubis, the god of death; and the three highest gods of Hindu all attacked at once.
Twelves different moves of attack shot out at the same time, as if they were to grind Ling Jiu’s bones to dust and obliterate his soul so that he could not live another life.
“What a terrifying attack!”
“Can Ling Jiu make it?”
People were on the edge of their seats.
“He is going to make it! He will!”
People were clenching their fists.
“Hang in there!”
Everyone was watching with bated breath.

Outlook: The Stars (Consciousness Unbound Book 1)
The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!
