Chapter 298: 298
Chapter 298: Underground World, Enslaving Once Again
This was a world of magma.
At first glance, there were boiling magma all over alongside bubbling gases as the magma radiated an astonishingly high temperature and heat.
Clearly, this was the underground world of Auguland.
On the boiling magma lake was a huge island. There was nothing on it, and if there were any, they would have been long burned to ashes.
He saw a large monster lying on the island. It was more than 10,000 meters long, its body red as blood and its scales were like blood gems.
What was amazing was that it had nine identical heads, with an extremely sturdy and massive body, making it look like a big mountain.
Towering, majestic.
Ferocious, menacing.
But sadly, it was shackled by chains of various colors.
These chains stretched out from the magma one after another, shackling it firmly onto the small island, rendering it unable to move or escape.
This nine-headed behemoth was the Nine-headed Snake!
“So miserable.”
A voice rang out.
“Who goes there?”
The imprisoned Nine-Headed Snake shuddered as its nine heads tried to rise up but was firmly bound by the chains, and was unable to rise. Instead, the chains rattled, and sending the sound far and wide.
“Who’s speaking just now?”
One of the Nine-Headed Snake’s head uttered human tongue. It was now a soul for, and so what it spoke was soul resonances, so it was completely understandable.
“Me.”
A figure appeared in midair. It was Ling Jiu.
WOOOSHHH!!
The eightteen eyes of the Nine-headed Snakes all looked at Ling Jiu like razor, as a terrifying soul aura immediately rushed at Ling Jiu.
“Who are you?”
The Nine-headed Snake asked.
“Just a passing pretty boy.”
Ling Jiu smiled slightly as a chair appeared out of nowhere and he sat on it. A Casmodor Fruit appeared in his hand as he took a bite. The fruit’s juice overflowed, as it was fleshy and juicy, sweet and delicious, and it tasted really good.

“Who are you?”
The Nine-headed Snake asked once again.
“Why do you need to know my identity?”
Ling Jiu shook his head. “In your current situation, even if you figure out who am I, what can you do?”
The Nine-headed Snake was silent.
Yes, even if it were to figure out who that person before it was, what then?
Will he rescue it?
Cease the jokes. Even if he was to rescue it, how would those supergalactic beings on Auguland agree to that?
Besides, why would he rescue it?
Since it cannot leave, why bother so much?
Thinking of this, the Nine-headed Snake suddenly became listless as its eyelids drooped and it no longer paid any attention to Ling Jiu.
“And the proud Nine-headed Snake’s end is such a sorry one. How sad.”
Ling Jiu nibbled on the Casmodor Fruit. “Even if you were to go out now, you’ll be completely useless, right?”
The complete Nine-headed Snake was very strong, and had great potential. However, the one before it was only left with its soul, and was considered completely rendered useless.
“Hmph! What do you know?”
The Nine-headed Snake exhaled. “We the Nine-headed Snakes have a secret reincarnation technique. As long as I can escape, I can find a new body, and use that technique to reform my body, and return to my peak form.”
“Hmmm?”
Ling Jiu was shocked. “A secret reincarnation technique? You’re not talking about possession right? Even if you were to possess a body, it is someone elses, and not the Nine-headed Snake’s own.”
“You don’t understand.”
Normally, the Nine-headed Snake could not be bothered with Ling Jiu, but it was depressed for far too long and did not mind a chat with someone.
“The secret reincarnation technique of the Nine-head Snakes is different from the common possession.”
“Possession is at most doves occupying a magpie’s nest, but our reincarnation technique can transform a new body, turning it into a true Nine-headed Snake’s body. The two are completely different.”

“There’s such a secret technique?”
Ling Jiu’s eyes lit up. “That is to say, if I were to release you, you have a way to regain your Nine-headed Snake body?”
“Of course!”
Nine-headed Snake said with affirmation.
“Leoux, it’s not lying to me, right?”
Ling Jiu asked Leoux.
“It’s speaking the truth.”
Leoux was affirmative. “The most special thing about this Nine-headed Snake is actually their soul. As long as the soul survives, even if their flesh was rendered useless, they can still seize a new one, and then transform that body into a new Nine-headed Snake body.”
“So, it’s necessary to rescue it?”
Ling Jiu smiled.
“Of course!”
Leoux said. “Rescue it, and then subdue it, and you shall have a fighter by your side with limitless potential. To be frank, its potential is much greater than Armando and Delia.”
“Let’s rescue it then.”
Ling Jiu nodded slightly and said to the Nine-headed Snake as he looked at it. “Nine-headed Snake, do you want to go out?”
“Go out?”
The Nine-headed Snake was stunned, as its nine pair of eyes stared at Ling Jiu before suddenly breaking into laughter.
“You can rescue me? You gotta be joking! Those gods of Auguland will not allow such a thing! Moreover, you don’t have the strength…”
The Nine-headed Snake was stunned before he finished speaking, because Ling Jiu took out something.
“This is…”
The Nine-headed Snake looked at the corpse floating before Ling Jiu and could not believe its eyes. “That’s… the God… of Light?”
“Bingo!”
Ling Jiu nodded slightly. “I’ve ran into this guy just now when I arrived at Auguland. He’s quite the nasty one, so I just killed him.”
“You’re not from Auguland?”
The Nine-headed Snake stared at Ling Jiu.
“Of course not!”
Ling Jiu smiled faintly. “Auguland can never give birth to a powerful existence like me.”
“After all, this planet is completely controlled by just a few Prime Gods.”
The Nine-headed Snake nodded again and again. It agreed with this. With the God of Light and other Prime Gods around, they will smother out any factors causing instability.
So, for tens of thousands of years, the Prime Gods of Auguland had always been that few.
“Are you willing to rescue me?”
The Nine-headed Snake could not hide the excitement in its heart. “What are your conditions? As long as I can do it, I will agree to it!”
“Simple, submit to me.” Ling Jiu bit off the last piece of fruit and said. “Submit to me, and I will set you free.”
“Submit?”
The Nine-headed Snake was silent.
For a noble lifeform like it, submitting to others was undoubtedly something acceptable, but no matter how difficult it was to accept, would it be as unacceptable as his current state?
Being sealed here for eternity, never to see the skies again… this was simply worse than death!
“Fine, I will submit to you.”
The Nine-headed Snake did not hesitate long before coming to a decision. It had been sealed for far too long, and was at the ends of its wits, it was dying to go to the world outside.
Moreover, after waiting for so many years, such an opportunity like Ling Jiu had appeared, it was afraid that if it missed this chance, it will never have the chance to go out again.
“A very wise decision!”
Ling Jiu threw away the core and said. “Don’t resist, I want to leave my spiritual mark in your soul.”
“Okay!”
The Nine-headed Snake immediately agreed.
Ling Jiu immediately used his Arcana, the Absolute Servitude, and enslaved the Nine-Headed Snake.
With its original soul strength, it would be impossible for Ling Jiu to enslave it as the difference in soul strength was just too great.
But since the Nine-headed Snake did not resist, everything was just a matter of course.
“Done!”

Shattered Realms - A Pathfinder/D&D game
Broke adventurers looking for a quick and easy paycheck are thrust together as circumstances around them get weirder and weirder. Authors note: This is an ongoing Pathfinder (DnD) game, which will inevitably contain references to other works due to the nature of nerds. Chapters will be random lengths, mostly as long as a game session and depending on how much I can embelish it. Also, some details may change retroactively to maintain consistency. I'm not going to write it as LitRPG, mostly because that's extra work. I'd rather the flow of the story not be interrupted by numbers. I am aiming for updates within a week or two of the game session, which will usually be weekly. Finally, there is a light swearing, gore and sexual references warning. I will update this warning if needed, but will also not write in anything that's too graphic or irrelevant to the story.
