Chapter 289: 289
Chapter 289: Ripened Fruit, Two Sacreds
“He… He actually killed Priest Kells!”
All of the guests were horrified, and they knew that the matter had just gotten very serious.
Although Priest Kells was just a Mid-level clergyman, he was still a member of the Light Curia. In the Empire of Light, the clergymen represented the Curia.
To kill them meant going against the Light Curia and provoking them…
“The Light Curia will never let this slide!”
“Even if he is a Sacred, the Curia will not let him go.”
“No, I don’t want to be near him any longer. If the Light Curia mistakes me for an accomplice, things will get really serious.”
“Right, right! Let’s leave now, quickly…”
In an instant, many of the guests got up and bade goodbye to the city lord. “Milord, I have something on at my abode, I’ll leave first.”
“Milord, my mother is about to give birth, and I need to take care of her. I shall take my leave first, please excuse me.”
“Milord…”
In the blink of an eye, all of the guests left. They looked at Ling Jiu as if he was plague incarnate, for fear that they would catch the plague if they linger around him any longer.
Delia and Armando looked at the hall that had still been abuzz a moment earlier before it became empty in the blink of an eye. They looked at each other and felt speechless.
“Why aren’t you two leaving yet?”
Ling Jiu raised his glass and asked casually.
“You saved my life, Sir. Your life-saving grace is greater than anything!”
Armando sternly said, “How could I stand aside to avoid suspicion while you get into trouble?”
Delia said nothing but nodded vigorously.
“A good man who knows gratitude.”
Ling Jiu smiled slightly and was about to compliment Armando when Sapling Ling’s voice suddenly rang out in his head.
“Bro, my fruit has ripened.”
“Hmmm?”
Ling Jiu said softly as his mind entered the floating island.
At the center of the vast floating continent stood a towering tree that pierced the sky. It was the Sacred Casmodor Tree, Sapling Ling.

Over the years, with nourishment from the island, Sapling Ling had finally entered adulthood. At the same time, it had finally produced the first batch of fruits.
The Sacred Casmodor Tree!
Just as 9527 had said, growing on a planet with abundant resources, the Sacred Casmodor Tree could mature and bear fruit within a few years.
If it were to grow in a resource-poor environment, their growth rate will be very slow, and it would be difficult for them to grow even after thousands of years.
There was no need to say anything more about the environment of the floating island, more so the abundance of Dark Bio-energy there. So, Sapling Ling… had matured, and also bear fruit.
Ling Jiu came before Sapling Ling and noticed that its canopy was densely packed with black fruits that looked like durians.
At a rough glance, there were hundreds of them!
“Sapling Ling, these are the fruits you bear?” Ling Jiu looked at each fruit.
He could feel the surging Dark Bio-energy and life energy contained in these fruits, much greater than a stellar lifeform.
“Yes, bro!”
Sapling Ling smiled happily. “This is the first batch of Casmodor fruits I bore. A single one is enough to turn you, Earthlings, into a stellar lifeform.”
Sapling Ling heaved a sigh of relief. It had been freeloading with Ling Jiu over the years.
To be honest, even it felt a little embarrassed and afraid that it would be cast away by Ling Jiu for being too useless. That would be too tragic because it never wanted to leave this floating island, this blessed paradise.
It was all good now.
After bearing so many Casmodor fruits in a single go, it should be able to help bro right?
“That amazing?”
Ling Jiu was skeptical.
“Bro, just try it and you’ll find out!”
Sapling Ling was very confident in its own fruit. It remembered witnessing with its own eyes that its mother had used the Casmodor fruit to feed the Direbeasts on Casmodor, helping those Direbeasts to become stellar lifeforms.
In contrast, its growth environment was better, and its fruit quality was better as well, there was no reason its fruit would be worse than its mother.

“Let’s give it a try then.”
Ling Jiu casually plucked two fruits and brought them to the outside world. Then he handed them to Armando and Delia. “Eat them.”
“Sir, what is this?”
Armando and Delia looked at the magical fruit in Ling Jiu’s hand with puzzlement in their eyes.
“You’ll find out once you eat them.”
Ling Jiu smiled.
The father and daughter looked at each other before eating the fruit without any hesitation.
After consuming the fruit, the aura inside their body surged like a rocket, and it was an ascension that could not be suppressed.
Level 8…
Level 9…
Level 10.
In just a few breath’s time, the auras of the father and daughter broke through the limit and reached a whole new level.
Right then, the father and daughter floated uncontrollably as their entire body suddenly burst into a bright scarlet light, much like a coat of flames as it rose above their heads and formed a massive behemoth phantom.
It looked like a giant snake, but with nine tails, a red body, and a single horn on its head…
It was a Nine-tailed snake!
Baaam!!
The moment the Nine-tailed snake appeared, a suffocating aura radiated out from the father-daughter pair. Even though Ling Jiu’s cultivation was high, he still felt a little discomfort.
“This behemoth…”
Ling Jiu squinted and stared intently at the Nine-tailed snakes above the father and daughter’s heads.
“Hahaha, as I expected.”
Leoux’s voice rang out in Ling Jiu’s mind. “You giving them the Casmodor fruit helped them to break through to a stellar lifeform, and the Nine-tailed snake bloodline hidden in their body was awakened. This father-daughter pair is going to soar from now on.”
“A nine-tailed snake?”
Ling Jiu frowned slightly. “Leoux, the red giant snakes above Armando and Delia is called the Nine-tailed Snake?”
“Yes, the Nine-tailed Snake.”
Leoux confirmed Ling Jiu’s words. “The Nine-tailed Snakes are a very terrifying creature!”
“A young Nine-tailed Snake is a galactic lifeform, and an adult Nine-tailed Snake is comparable to a universal lifeform. If the Nine-tailed Snake is lucky enough to transform into a dragon, its power will skyrocket, and it will become a true apex lifeform.”
“That powerful!”
Ling Jiu gasped.
A galactic lifeform when still juvenile.
This starting point was even more terrible than the Flame Astral Behemoth or the Golden Saiyan Apes.
“I don’t know why this father and daughter pair has the blood of the Nine-tailed Snake. Perhaps they are its descendants, or there may be other reasons,” Leoux said.
“But no matter what, that’s enough to explain the Nine-tailed Snake’s presence on this planet before.”
“The Nine-tailed Snake, huh.”
“Heh, if the Nine-tailed Snake had really passed by here before, that would explain why the Gene Arcana on his planet is so rich.”
Ling Jiu nodded silently.
“Ling Jiu, raise this father and daughter pair well.”
Leoux continued, “They have the blood of the Nine-tailed Snake, and as long as they continue to purify their bodies, their strength can be greatly improved in a short period of time.”
“When they transform into true Nine-tailed Snakes in the future, you will have another two powerful companions beside you.”
“If they can go through a further transformation and become a dragon, you will have truly strike the jackpot.”
“Understood!”
Ling Jiu nodded. When he gave them the Casmodor fruit earlier, it was just to test the effect of the fruit.
Now, however, Ling Jiu was thinking about training both Armando and Delia. Both of them had good potential and were worth the effort in cultivating.
At that point, Armando and Delia had recovered from their shock.
They looked at each other, and at their feet of the ground as they stood in the air, and then at the aura around them, how could they not know what had happened.
It was precisely because they understood what had happened that they were stunned. A black fruit had allowed them to become Sacreds?
What kind of joke was this?
However, the father and daughter were also thoughtful people. After the brief shock, they immediately landed and turned to bow before Ling Jiu.
