Chapter 243: 243
Chapter 243: New Core, Universal Laws
Ling Jiu laughed when he saw the silver gorilla flee the scene. This big guy clearly had the upper hand, yet was scared off. What a coward.
“Well, I’ll let you go this time.”
He had planted a dimensional mark on the silver gorilla, with no worries about not being able to find it. His top priority now was to devour a group of direbeasts.
His physique had improved vastly in the battle just now, but he had also almost drained the bio-energy stored in the body. It had to be replenished urgently.
“There is a direbeast five kilometers away.”
Ling Jiu performed a Blink Arcana and came to five kilometers away. There, he saw that direbeast.
It resembled a hedgehog, over 80 meters long and covered with spikes, just like a steel needle and spear. It was nasty, by the looks of it.
But Ling Jiu could best handle it by performing The Devourer. Never mind the spiky body. He swallowed it in just one bite.
“There is a direbeast eight kilometers away.”
He moved around just like that, constantly searching for and devouring the direbeasts he found. The vitality in his body began to surge again.
After a busy day, he returned to practice self-cultivation in the airship. But he was not in a hurry. Instead, he first read the experience of the cultivators before him.
It was not only about the accumulation of Gene Arcana at Level-9 and -10 but also about the stellar development in the elixir field. What did it mean?
Taking the already formed Gene Arcana core as the star, and then re-condense a new Gene Arcana core to make it revolve around the ‘star.’
To put it simply, it was to develop a ‘one star plus N planet’ imitation stellar system in the elixir field, just like the stellar systems in the universe.
Old core plus N new cores.
Ling Jiu let his mind sink into his elixir field and looked at the high-speed rotating core and the nebula surrounding the core with his mind’s eyes.
“In other words, the next step is to condense a new Gene Arcana core in the elixir field and let it revolve around the old core. It looks pretty simple. I will try it.”
He tried to mobilize the dark bio-energy in the nebula and condense it into a new core. But before it started, he encountered a problem.
The high-speed rotating Gene Arcana core was as if a terrifying vortex. Its suction force was too powerful for comfort and would suck away all the dark bio-energy that he mobilized.
It was impossible to reform dark bio-energy.
With no choice, he moved away from the Gene Arcana core, to the edge of the nebula, and restarted condensation.
Since the suction force was much lower at this distance, so too the difficulty level. But the nebula here was thin and dark bio-energy was low, these affected the condensation speed.

As a last resort, he moved closer to the Gene Arcana core a little. The tearing force at this distance was greater, and the level of dark bio-energy was higher.
He cautiously compressed the dark bio-energy in the nebula. It was like treading on thin ice, for fear that the Gene Arcana core would suck away the dark bio-energy again.
Fortunately, the position he chose this time seemed all right. After a painstaking process, a brand-new Gene Arcana core the size of the tip of a needle had formed.
The size of the tip of a needle?
The new core was obviously too small, but it did indeed take shape. He quietly breathed a sigh of relief, but he must not let down his guard.
Just like a newborn baby, the new inner core was still too fragile and could be easily torn to pieces by the old Gene Arcana core.
Compared with the huge and high-speed rotating old core, this new one was insignificantly small and delicate.
So Ling Jiu continued to extract dark bio-energy in the nebula, inject it into the new Gene Arcana core, and then let it develop and thrive.
Time passed.
The nebula was being extracted.
The new core was growing.
Time flew like an arrow. He had been in a self-cultivation for two months and finally opened his eyes today.
“The new core has stabilized finally after so long!”
The Gene Arcana core, the size of a watermelon, was still spinning at high speed in the elixir field. It was as if a giant that dominated the world.
Revolving around it was a massive nebula that looked like a vortex. It was also as if a Milky Way orbiting a black hole.
In this nebula, there was a sphere about the size of a walnut orbiting the old Gene Arcana core the size of a watermelon.
This sphere was the new core that Ling Jiu had worked so hard to condense.
Looking closely, the new core not only followed the nebula to revolve around the old core but also rotated on its axis at high speed.
“While the revolution guarantees that the new Gene Arcana core will not be swallowed by the old core, the rotation guarantees that the new Geen Arcana core absorbs dark bio-energy and can continue to grow.” Ling Jiu murmured to himself. “The long and short of it, this brand-new stellar system has finally stabilized. It may look simple but it is stable.”
A stable stellar system also meant that he had officially entered the ranks of Level-10 arcanist and become a real stellar life form.
Since he had just become a stellar life form and only condensed a new core, he was only a Level-1 stellar life form.
“A Level-One stellar life form!”
The world in front of him changed again as he got to his feet.
Countless lines emerged in his field of vision. There were golden, red, green, black, yellow, and purple lines.

Those lines of various colors were entangled together, as if in a network of horizontal and vertical lines covering the entire world.
Even the vast dimensional ocean had such lines. Looking closely, the dimensional ocean comprised countless light dots.
These light dots were dimensional points.
Those endless dimensional points are moving irregularly with no regular connection between them.
But now, all the dimensional points had been connected by the purple lines. They were closely related to each other. Just that Ling Jiu did not know what their relationship was.
In other words, he could see those threads, but he had no idea what they meant.
“What are these threads?”
Ling Jiu’s brows were knitted tightly together. “Why are there silks threads in the world, up to the dimensional ocean and down to every minute atom?”
“Congratulations on becoming a stellar life for Ling Jiu.”
As a familiar voice spoke, Ling Jiu turned his head and saw Leoux behind him, looking at him in admiration.
“You are back, Leoux!” Ling Jiu looked surprised.
“It’s been a few days,” Leoux said. “But I saw you were at a critical juncture, so didn’t dare to disturb you but just waited silently.”
“I didn’t know that.”
Ling Jiu nodded. “I have attained the stellar level, but I have a lot of questions. Maybe you can help.”
“I know,” Leoux said. “That’s why I have sorted out the self-cultivation materials about stellar life forms. Just ask anything you want.”
“Great.”
Ling Jiu had no hesitation. He pointed at the countless lines covering the world. “What are those lines?”
“Those are the lines of rules,” Leoux said with a smile. “The universe we live in is a precision machine that operates strictly under a series of laws!”
“For example, the interaction of forces, the formation of celestial bodies, the transformation of energy, etc. must follow relevant rules.”
“Rules?” Ling Jiu expressed his understanding.
“I am sure, you are aware of the existence of laws as a being in a primary civilization. The knowledge you learned in your textbooks, such as the laws of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology are rules,” Leoux said. “Put it in another way, they are just a small part of the rules.”
“Now I know.” Ling Jiu nodded.
“So, the operation of everything in the universe must follow rules. People call these rules the universe laws. Of course, some people call it the universal mystery, rules, esoteries, golden rules and so on,” Leoux said. “Those lines you see now are the lines of laws. They are the external manifestations of cosmic laws after they have been concretized.”
“It makes much sense now,” Ling Jiu said.
“You can almost perceive the existence of the line of laws after becoming a stellar life form. So other than the accumulation of dark bio-energy, the cultivation of a stellar life form includes the understanding of the laws of the universe. In other words, you have to understand the laws of the universe,” Leoux said. “The universal laws are very obscure, more difficult than the accumulation of dark bio-energy.”
“It takes a lot of energy and a long time to comprehend it on your own, such as the many stellar life forms on your planet.”
Ling Jiu listened quietly.
“The strongest one is a stellar Level-Six, but this is only his cultivation base of dark bio-energy. He is just scratching the surface in his understanding of the universal laws.” Leoux shook his head. “As for other stellar life forms, they have not even crossed the first threshold yet.”
Ling Jiu was stunned. “You mean, a bunch of big guys, except for Emperor Might, on Earth have not even crossed the first threshold in the understanding of the universal laws?”
“Exactly.” Leoux nodded. “You could see how difficult it is to comprehend the universal laws from this point.”
“So many big guys didn’t get to cross the threshold. Wow!” Ling Jiu was almost speechless. “Then how many years do I need to spend before I can do that?”
He did not think he was better than those big guys. In fact, every one of those big guys was brilliant and talented.
How badass could he be when even those big guys had not even gotten started yet?
“You don’t need to worry about this.” Leoux let out a smile. “There are various resources of the laws onboard the Leoux besides material resources for self-cultivation.”
Ling Jiu was stunned and in disbelief. “You guys have even collected the universal laws? How did you do that?”
“It is difficult to collect the law-based resources, but it is not impossible,” Leoux said. “There are two common ways to do that. One, peel them from the memory of the powerful ones. Two, the Source Crystal of the Laws.”
“I can understand the first one.” Ling Jiu frowned. “But what is the Source Crystal of the Laws?”
“It is a cosmic gem,” Leoux said. “But there is no need to tell you how it is formed for now. You only need to know that the Source Crystal of the Laws contains a certain number of cosmic laws, and you can comprehend these cosmic laws only by refining the Source Crystal of the Laws.”
“I didn’t know that there was such a gem. Incredible!” Ling Jiu said. “Is there any Source Crystal of the Laws on board the Leoux?”
“Of course… not.” Leoux chuckled. “We have a complete set of the universal laws. So why do we need the Source Crystal of the Laws? You know that in our Emissian civilization, the universal laws have been recorded in books, just like the physics and mathematics textbooks in junior high schools, high schools, and universities on your planet.”
