Chapter 192: Absolute Zero, Ling Jiu’s Death

“So that’s the Ares Plain?”
“Strange! What is that high wall? A crater or something else?”
“The Ares Plain is in the northern hemisphere of Mars. There are few impact craters and valleys. How could there be craters?”
“Strange!”
A group of people arrived in the Ares Plain. It was the group of veteran trainees who had gathered in front of the scoreboard earlier. They were here to rubberneck.
Of course, Hao Shuai was among them. He was keen to find out how powerful Ling Jiu was now, and if Ling Jiu really could beat Hiram, just as the Ace brothers said.
The group moved like a whirlwind and climbed onto the barrier in the blink of an eye. They saw Ling Jiu’s maglev airship and the Arcana forest, which had been planted in the past two weeks.
“So this is Ling Jiu and Bai Ya’s forest? It’s that massive?”
“There are at least tens of thousands of power trees, right? Didn’t they just join the matriculation camp two weeks ago? Since when did they start planting such a large forest?”
“If they possess Earth or Wood Manipulation Arcana, it is entirely possible to plant so many Arcana trees in such a short time.”
“You have a point. On the barren surface of Mars, Earth and Wood Manipulation Arcanas are the most convenient for planting trees.”
…
Arthur Austin was furious. He was an extremely possessive man, who would try every way he could to get what he wanted.
He would rather ruin it than let things fall into the hands of others if he could not get it.
That man and woman are really sleeping together.
Arthur Austin stared at the two while they ate. Jealousy burned in his eyes. When he saw Bai Ya, and her beauty, Arthur Austin’s heart bled.
She was a perfect woman; God’s most perfect work of art. She was really out of this world.
Such a perfect woman has been ruined by trash! Damn it! Damn! Damn! Bugger, I’m going to tear you into pieces!
“By the constipated look on your face, it seems like you’re up to something.”
Just as Arthur Austin gritted his teeth, a mocking voice rang out and startled him. He then realized that Ling Jiu was looking and smiling at him.
He can see me?
Arthur Austin was taken aback. His Molecularization Arcana turned him into a molecular form that not even a microscope could detect.
Yet, Ling Jiu had seen him?
“What are you talking about?”
Bai Ya looked at Ling Jiu in puzzlement.

“A mouse has sneaked into the airship. No, it should be a pervert,” Ling Jiu said. “This pervert has been staring at you for a long while. He must be coveting you. Be careful, don’t let him have his way.”
“Who?”
Bai Ya was startled, her beautiful eyes darting around. She trusted Ling Jiu very much, and Ling Jiu would never make a joke like this.
He really sees me!
Arthur Austin’s face was grim, and he revealed himself.
“Who are you?”
Bai Ya’s expression changed when seeing another person appearing in the airship.
“Arthur Austin?”
Arthur Austin stared at Bai Ya and felt a knifelike pain in his heart.
“Beautiful lady, why do you want to give up on yourself to be together with a trash like him?”
“Hey, rascal, are you looking down on me?” Ling Jiu was not too happy.
“Trash!” Arthur Austin stared at Ling Jiu with a frosty face. “How dare you defile such a beautiful woman? You are absolutely heinous! I will punish you on behalf of God today and get rid of you sinner!”
“Heck!” Ling Jiu sneered. “It seems that your mouth isn’t as unassuming as your face!”
“Damn you, trash!”
Arthur Austin let out a low growl, and his cheeks instantly gleamed with a bright white light, as if it was a large 1,000-watt light bulb.
The next moment, a white beam of light the size of a human face shot out like a bolt of lightning from his face at Ling Jiu like lightning.
The white light beam was so quick, much like the light from a flashlight at the press of a button, that it arrived in the blink of an eye.
Boom!
As quick as the light beam was, it missed its target. Ling Jiu had vanished on the spot.
Boom!
The light beam hit the wall silently and left behind a hole in the shape of a human face.
The air in the airship gushed out of the hole while the temperature dropped drastically.
The inside of the airship became a freezing ice cellar in an instant.
The food and soup on the table were all frozen, turning into lumps of ice.
Ling Jiu, Bai Ya, and Arthur Austin spontaneously put on their Venom Suits to cover their bodies.
“You’ve ruined all the food.”
Ling Jiu’s voice was calm, but his tone was colder than the temperature in the airship.
“So, you have to die. But don’t worry, I won’t let you die so quickly. I’ll make sure that you regret coming here first!”
“You dodged my attack?” Arthur Austin twisted his neck. “But you won’t be so lucky next time. Absolute Zero!”

A terrifying cold radiated from Arthur Austin and spread throughout the airship.
Everything in the airship—tables, floors, and walls—froze over, turning into crystal clear ice sculptures.
“This cold current…”
Ling Jiu’s expression changed. He grabbed Bai Ya and was about to perform a Blink Arcana to leave when the surrounding space was frozen. His Blink Arcana was useless now.
The next moment, the cold current hit Ling Jiu and his body was turned into an ice sculpture. Amazingly, the cold current had cleverly avoided Bai Ya.
Bai Ya was still standing on the spot, unharmed. But her delicate body was shivering at the extreme temperature.
“Ling Jiu! Ling Jiu!”
Seeing Ling Jiu being frozen, Bai Ya called out to him. But there was no response from Ling Jiu. She glared at Arthur Austin. “What have you done to Ling Jiu?”
“Miss Bai Ya, don’t worry!”
Arthur Austin walked over slowly, and as he walked past a table, he tapped it lightly with his finger.
The table shattered in an instant, turning into lumps of ice scattered on the floor. He then let out a smile.
“My Absolute Zero can freeze everything, even dimensions. No one can escape it even if that person has Dimensional Arcana.” While he spoke, he walked slowly toward Bai Ya. “Miss Bai Ya, I don’t want to kill you. If you break Ling Jiu’s ice sculpture, I will let you go and allow you to follow me!”
He wanted to ruin Bai Ya, but seeing what a perfect woman Bai Ya was, he could not bring himself to do it. Hence, he planned to take her.
“Perish your thought!”
Bai Ya spat those words in a frosty voice. At the same time, a bright purple electric arc had sprung to life in her hand, and she lashed it at Arthur Austin like a lightning whip.
“Why are you doing this?”
1
Arthur Austin shook his head, and his body vanished from the spot.
The lightning whip missed and hit the floor, which broke apart on impact. Everything—the walls, ceiling, even the entire airship—fell apart, becoming shards of ice on the ground.
“Ling Jiu!”
Bai Ya’s face sank. She quickly looked at Ling Jiu’s sculpture and saw nothing but a large pile of ice shards scattered on the ground.
Ling Jiu had been shattered?
“No!”
Bai Ya screamed, and bright electric arcs erupted from her body. She shot out of the icy layer and looked at Arthur Austin, who had reappeared outside.
“I’ll kill you!”
The next moment, several bolts of lightning pierced the air and struck Arthur Austin.
“Not bad. It’s just that…”
Arthur Austin shook his head and vanished from his spot again. He was right behind Bai Ya when he reappeared.
“Absolute Zero!”
A strong cold current quietly fell on Bai Ya, and a layer of icy debris appeared on the surface of Bai Ya’s body instantly. Her entire body had frozen over except for her head.
“Jerk!”
Bai Ya tried to fight back.
“Don’t move.”
Arthur Austin chuckled. “Your lower body is frozen in ice. If you struggle, it will break apart like that airship.”
“Damn it!” Bai Ya’s expression changed.
“Miss Bai Ya, you didn’t really do as I say, but you’re doing it indirectly at least. I meant what I said. I’ll let you follow me!”
Arthur Austin grinned. “Don’t worry, I’ll handle you with care and treat you well.”
“I won’t let you touch me even if I have to die.”
Bai Ya glared at Arthur Austin in disgust. A bright lightning bolt burst out of her eyes and spread throughout her body.
Her body would be annihilated with the terrifying destructive power of the Annihilation Thunder.
“Stop, Bai Ya!”
Just then, a calm voice rang out. Bai Ya was shaken, and the lightning bolt around her disappeared. She turned her head and looked around to see him behind her.
“Ling Jiu, you… you’re still alive!” Bai Ya was overjoyed.
“Everyone has to die one day, and I’m probably no exception,” Ling Jiu said. “But don’t worry, I can’t die in his hands.”
“You’re really still alive!”
Arthur Austin’s face sank.
“Go home and train for 10,000 years more if you still want to kill me.” Ling Jiu shook his head. “You’ve made your move. Now, it’s my turn. Don’t worry, I’ll be very gentle, and I won’t let you die too quickly. Six Hundredfold Gravity!”
A terrifying gravity force fell from the sky, instantly enveloping Arthur Austin.
“Gravity? It’s useless against me.”
Arthur Austin sneered. Just then, his body molecularized. Defying gravity, he then reappeared in another spot in his body.
“This is…” Ling Jiu’s heart skipped a beat. His brows then eased up. “This is Molecularization. No wonder! It’s no doubt a good Arcana, but…”
“But what?” Arthur Austin asked. “My Molecularization is unaffected by any Arcana attacks. Even your Dimensional Shackle is useless against me.”
“You are right. Dimensional Shackle is useless against you.”
Ling Jiu nodded in agreement. Dimensional Shackle could confine bodies at best but not the mind. As long as the conscious mind was not subdued, Arthur Austin could perform Molecularization, turning himself into molecules to avoid Dimensional Shackle.
“However, there is one Arcana that can get to you.”

The Plan
An infinite world couldn’t be real, but if it was, well this would happen. Imagine a world that isn’t covered in water, but an endless atmosphere. Plates of land, named “islands”, float and drift almost aimlessly. There is no sun, stars, roof, or floor; just boundless air in every direction. Light is generated from the movement of air flow. Magical and mystical powers keep islands floating and the world full of fresh entropy. Some of these floating islands drift upwards or downwards or any combination of volatile or patterned velocities. Air flow also follows the same characteristics of islands, which generates the light and heat. In a world with no horizon, the different inhabitants struggle. Beings calling them selves deities across the endless space are countless. If you were to fall off an island, you would inevitably hit another island; if you didn’t die from old age first. Many inhabitants don’t know the land further than their own eye sight or town they grew up in. Almost all inhabitants of islands have supernatural abilities, ranging in ability and skill. Magical abilities are kept individually; and mystical powers are borrowed. Islands float because the land is enchanted by either a magical or mystical crystal. Magical islands are known for vertical variance, while mystical islands are known for vertical stability. The islands rotate around focal points, known as 'the center'. There are many 'the center', but no one knows this yet... Warning: Tagged Mature 18+ for Strong Language, Gore, Violence, and sexual scenes. Google Drive (Click here to open new window) WIP/spoilers
