Chapter 180: 180
“What strength!”
Ling Jiu’s expression changed as he sensed an unparalleled strength from the tentacle. It was much more terrifying than all of the Class 8 Direbeasts he had met earlier!
It far, far surpassed them.
“Rise!”
Ling Jiu roared as the veins in his arms popped up and he put all of his strength into his arm and then tugging it hard.
Splashhh!
A huge splash of water thundered and the pool water roiled as a huge octopus-like creature was being pulled out.
This monster did look like an octopus, but its every tentacle was more than a hundred meters long and more than a meter thick. Meanwhile, its body was full of small black scales not unlike snake scales.
“The Class 8 Direbeast, the Blackscaled Serpentine Tentacle Octopus!”
Ling Jiu recognized the octopus at first glance but his brows were also deeply furrowed. The Blackscaled Serpentine Tentacle Octopus was just too strong, far beyond any ordinary Class 8 Beast Lord.
Moreover, there was an extremely terrifying aura emanating from it, causing Ling Jiu to feel a tremendous pressure.
Clearly, this was no ordinary Class 8 Beast Lord. It was in a far greater realm than that of the usual Class 8 Beast Lord!
“Roar!!!”
The Blackscaled Serpentine Tentacle Octopus let out a bizzare growl as thick tentacles slammed at Ling Jiu like a stream of pythons. The air seemed to be ripped apart, as a shrill rip of the air rang out, and instantly the tentacles were upon Ling Jiu.
“Good timing!”
Ling Jiu roared as he raised his right fist to meet the tentacle volley, and amidst loud bangs, Ling Jiu was smashed into the ground.
However, the Blackscaled Serpentine Tentacle Octopus did not feel good. The tentacle that it had used to hit Ling Jiu was riddled with holes. Plus, when it looked at Ling Jiu again, aside from his body sinking into the ground, the latter was not wounded at all.
“What strength!”
Ling Jiu Blinked to its side, as he looked at the Blackscaled Serpentine Tentacle Octopus with scorching eyes. “Since you want to play, let’s play then!”
Whooosh!!
Ling Jiu appeared above the octopus’ head as he raised both fists and smashed at it with brutal abandon.
Boom! Boom!
A terrifying force erupted, causing the Blackscaled Serpentine Tentacle Octopus to furiously roar.
Although Ling Jiu’s fist could not smash its body apart, the terrifying force contained within it shook it to the point of being dizzy, and it was about to suffer a concussion.
“Roar!!!”
The Blackscaled Serpentine Tentacle Octopus let out an angry howl as another volley of tentacles came crashing toward Ling Jiu. Ling Jiu dodged all of the attacks in a flash, then reappeared on the other side as he started his wild barrage of punches again.
Boom! Boom!
Under the barrage of blows, the Blackscaled Serpentine Tentacle Octopus spat out blood from its mouth. It clearly could not withstand Ling Jiu’s punches and had suffered internal injuries.

The octopus roared again and swam back quickly into the pool. It wanted to flee.
“Running away?’
Ling Jiu snorted, as the war blade suddenly appeared in his hand. “Elongate!”
The war bade instantly elongated itself out of thin air, reaching 40 meters length in a blink of an eye. Ling Jiu then held the blade as he slashed it down into the octopus’ head with deadly precision.
Dush!
The defensive power of the Blackscaled Serpentine Tentacle Octopus’ scales was amazing. Ling Jiu had hit it with so many punches and still could not break its scaly armor. He had only managed to injure it through shock.
However, before the 40-meter war blade, the octopus’ indestructible scales were like tofu. A dull thud later, its head was split in half.
The 40-meter war blade went all the way down, and the Blackscaled Serpentine Tentacle Octopus’ body was cut into two.
“Boom…”
The octopus body that was cut in two fell apart on both sides and let out a loud thud upon impact with the ground, and then it moved no longer.
“Done!”
Ling Jiu put away the war blade and walked to the octopus corpse as he picked a tentacle up to inspect it.
“Its muscle tissues are tougher, more compact, and heavier than that of ordinary Class 8 Beast Lords. Is this octopus really a Class 8 Direbeast?”
“Meooowww…”
Just as Ling Jiu was puzzled, Celeste rushed to the pool as its pair of round eyes stared intently at the bottom of it and whimpered.
Seeing so, Ling Jiu tossed the tentacle away and came before the pool.
“Celeste, you know what’s under the pool?”
Ling Jiu asked, totally befuddled. He could see the water was greenish, but he could not see what it exactly was, and the pool seemed to be very deep too.
“Meowmeow…”
Celeste meowed twice and then pointed its tiny paw at the bottom of the pool. There was a scorching gaze in its eyes as there was something it wanted at the bottom of the pool.
“I’ll go down and have a look.”
Ling Jiu nodded and jumped into the pool.
According to Ling Jiu’s guess, this underground pool should be very cold, but the moment he entered the water, Ling Jiu immediately knew that this pool was completely different from what he had imagined.
The pool water was not so cold but rather warm. Just like soaking in a hot spring, a surge of warmth rushed at him, making him all warm and fuzzy.
“This pool is a little magical…”
Ling Jiu muttered to himself as he continued to manipulate the water to dive deeper, but to his surprise, the greenish bottom of the pool was clearly before him, but he could not reach the bottom of it.
He then dove deeper and deeper.
After diving for almost a kilometer, Ling Jiu had finally reached the bottom of the pool, and then saw the culprit of the green pool water: a stone!

Let’s call it a stone for now then. It was wholy green, about the size of a watermelon and its surface was composed of flat surfaces, much like a green crystal.
“What is this?”
Ling Jiu was puzzled as he stretched his hand out and carefully touched the crystal. He felt a warmth on his hand, and at the same time a mysterious power was transmitted from the crystal.
Ling Jiu felt like his arm had been electrocuted as a tingling sensation rang through it, and it was very comfortable.
“What is that thing?”
Ling Jiu had doubt in his mind as he tried to pick the crystal up, and he easily lifted it. He then looked around and after determining that there was nothing else, he left the bottom of the pool.
Splashhh!
Ling Jiu came out of the pool, and Celeste was already impatient as it sniffed vigorously at the green crystal, looking all intoxicated, much like an opium addict catching the sight of opium.
“That big a reaction?”
Ling Jiu was dumbfounded, and then he saw something that totally astonished him.
Celeste suddenly opened its mouth as it bit into the green crystal, and directly chomping off a part of it, and then swallowing the crystal into its stomach.
“This thing is that brittle?”
Ling Jiu was stunned as he stretched his hand out and grabbed a chunk off the crystal. Upon seeing this, Celeste ate the spar in Ling Jiu’s hand.
“Celeste, what the hell is this? You sure nothing will happen if you eat it like this?” Ling Jiu asked.
Just as Celeste was about to answer, its body trembled suddenly, and immediately after, its fur all bristled, not unlike a hedgehog on the defense.
Celeste let out a shrill cry, as its eyes were bloodshot.
Its body then bizarrely squirmed as if there were countless ants crawling under its skin, and the bones all over its body made a crackling sound.
The next moment, something that shocked Ling Jiu happened.
Celeste’s body inflated like a balloon, and was growing at a visible speed. One meter, two meters, three meters…
In just a few breaths, Celeste, which was originally only a meter long, now grew to six meters, and it still continued to grow.
“The hell is going on?”
Ling Jiu was stunned
“Maowwwwww…”
Celeste let out a cry as blood lines appeared all over its body, and yet its body was still growing, and soon it broke through the ten meter mark.
At this moment, Celeste’s growth finally slowed down, its scream gradually stopped as it lay prone on the ground, breathing heavily.
“Celeste, how are you doing?”
Ling Jiu asked concernedly.
“Meow… I….I…I’m fine!”
Celeste glanced at Ling Jiu and suddenly spoke the human language. This sudden occurrence scared the wits out of Ling Jiu. “Ce…Celeste, you can talk?”
“I…I don’t know why I can suddenly speak…”
Celeste’s voice was very crisp and tender, just like a girl aged eight to nine, yet her speech was stuttering and was not smooth.
“Why can you suddenly talk?”
Ling Jiu stared at it. “I’ve heard that a Class 9 Beast Emperor can speak human language, have you evolved from a Class 8 Direbeast to a Class 9 Beast Emperor?”
“A Class… Class 9 Beast Emperor?”
Celeste was puzzled.
“This is how the humans classify you Direbeasts!”
Ling Jiu briefly explained, “In our records, the Class 8 Beast Lord possesses intelligence no weaker than humans, and Class 9 Beast Emperors can speak the human language! For you to be able to suddenly speak, you must have evolved into a Class 9 Beast Emperor!”
Having said that, Ling Jiu could not help but look at the remaining green crystal. “And the reason why you suddenly evolved is because you ate this thing?
“In other words, what exactly is this thing that allows a Class 8 Beast Lord to become a Class 9 Beast Emperor?”
“I found it by accident!”
Celeste spoke much more fluently now. “I instinctively felt that this thing inside the pool had a fatal attraction to me, so I was drawn to it!
“But that Blackscaled Serpentine Tentacle Octopus guarding the pool. I fought it a few times but was not its match!”
“Instinctively?”
Ling Jiu frowned. “So, you don’t know what that this thing is?”
“Yeah.”
Celeste nodded.
“What the hell is this thing?”
Ling Jiu gently rubbed the green crystal with questions in his eyes. “Now with things as it is, I can only look for 9527, it should know about this!”
“9527?”
Celeste showed a curious look.
“You’ll find out soon enough!”
Ling Jiu put the crystal away and left the cavern with Celeste. Half an hour later, the man and the beast found 9527.
“9527, what is this?”
Ling Jiu went straight to the point.
“Hmmm?”
9527 looked at the green crystal as its eyes sharpened. “Ling Jiu, where did you find this?”
“The Australian continent, in a cave by the sea.” Ling Jiu said.
“The Australian continent?”
9527 frowned deeply. “Could it be that the Mothership is hidden in Australia? Impossible, I’ve search it before and found no trace at all! Buit if the Mothership isn’t in Australia, how did this thing appear in Australia?”
“9527, what the hell is this?”
Ling Jiu listened on with excitement in his heart.
“This is fodder for the War Beasts!”
9527 answered.
“Fodder?”
Ling Jiu was stunned.
“We Emessian Warriors are normally equipped with six pieces of equipment. The battle suit, the war blade, the gravity bracelet, the dimensional ring, a single-person aircraft, and a war beast chip!”
“The War Beast chip is used to tame war beasts, and once you have installed it into the brain of a War Beast, you can completely manipulate its life and death.”
“So, a proper Emessian warrior would often have a powerful war beast, and this is the fodder that is used to feed them.”
