Chapter 141: Centipede Dragon, White Rock
Chapter 141: Centipede Dragon, White Rock
As Emperor Might once said, almost all animals on this planet were giant amphibians and insects. Mammals on earth like jackals, tigers, and leopards did not exist at all.
One more thing was, all the creatures on this planet were more terrifying than the Direbeasts of the same class on Earth in terms of defensive strength.
A Class-Five monster had the defense strength of the Class-Six Direbeast. The hard armor of a Class-Six monster was tougher than that of the Class-Seven Direbeasts on Earth.
This impressive level of defense had affected Ling Jiu’s performance in killing Direbeasts to some extent. But it was within an acceptable range.
“What a shame.”
Ling Jiu muttered to himself while looking for Direbeasts. “There is still no stronger Direbeast for me to try out the Venom Suit’s power.”
All electronic devices such as computers, cell phones, and Direbeast radars did not work here because this planet had no artificial satellites and terrestrial stations.
Interconnectivity?
Impossible.
Scanning for a Direbeast?
It was also impossible!
He was going in blind. All he could rely on was his guts feeling, which was also a significant reason for the enormous drop in efficiency.
It was too difficult to find a powerful monster under such circumstances.
Time passed quickly, and it was nightfall.
There were three moons in the sky, one of which was occupying one-third of the night sky like a giant.
It was too big.
“Is that the gas giant[1]?”
He could not help but marveled as he stood on a floating mountain and looked up at the giant moon.
This moon was so massive that it made the moon of the Earth looked like its little brother.

But this was entirely normal.
Pandora was the satellite of a gas giant. The gas giant itself was much larger than the moon. The moon looking so massive was utterly understandable since this gas giant was much larger than Pandora, its satellite moon.
“Let’s start cultivation training!”
Ling Jiu removed the air filter mask and took out the Venom Suit.
It was a soft, slime-like black liquid. It constantly squirmed in Ling Jiu’s hand like a living thing.
The black liquid expanded and quickly covered Ling Jiu’s arm before spreading all over his body and wrapping him in it.
Ling Jiu became black all over as if a superhero in a superhero movie.
Immediately afterwards, a suction force rose from the Venom Suit, and Ling Jiu felt the Gene Arcana draining from his body.
But he was not in a panic.
As much as the Venom Suit was a battle suit, it was essentially made up of super viruses. These viruses were living organism and need food.
And they feed on Gene Arcana.
So the relationship between the wearer and the Venom Suit was symbiotic.
The Venom Suit was lodged in the host’s body. It protected the host and increased the host’s various attributes, but only if it fed on the host’s Gene Arcana.
“The forum says the Venom Suit has an enormous appetite. Those lower-level arcanists do not possess enough Gene Arcana to feed the Venom Suit! So low-level arcanists can’t use this kind of big eater. But not me. I can totally afford it.”
Ling Jiu muttered to himself. He found a place, sat down with his leg crossed, and then performed Sky Devourer to draw the Gene Arcana from within a radius of 10,000 meters.
BUZZZ—
The rich Gene Arcana converged and poured into Ling Jiu’s body.
The Venom Suit did not sit idle during the process. It was devouring the Gene Arcana in Ling Jiu’s body.

Time flew and the long night had finally ended. When the first ray of the morning sun shone from the sky, Ling Jiu stretched out and then got up.
“A new day has begun. Let’s get to work!”
…
A monster in the shape of a giant alligator fell was killed on the spot when Ling Jiu’s sword pierced through its head.
“Retrieve!”
Ten minutes later, another frog monster died at Ling Jiu’s hands.
Ling Jiu moved on from one place to another to continue hunting the Direbeasts.
As noon approached, there was a loud noise coming up ahead. Giant trees fell one after another, as if some big guy was bulldozing them down.
The thing came within view in the blink of an eye.
It was a giant python—or rather, a giant scaled dragon— with coral double horns, a body covered in thick hard armor and bone spurs. The dragon was charging towards him.
Its head was more enormous than a truck. With a body length of over 200 meters, it was coming at speed like a giant train.
Besides, its abdomen was packed with dozens of stubby legs.
It was neither a dragon nor a python.
Ling Jiu called it the Centipede Dragon.
As the Centipede Dragon charged in his direction, a person was sighted on top of its head, wielding a long sword to stab the Centipede Dragon’s head madly.
The long sharp sword pierced through the thick hard armor into the Centipede Dragon’s head, causing severe pain, making the Centipede Dragon mad.
The Centipede Dragon ran amok and destroyed trees before coming in front of Ling Jiu in the blink of an eye. Given the Centipede Dragon’s size and the momentum it carried, it could easily crash through a concrete building.
“D*mn it!”
Ling Jiu suddenly disappeared into thin air. When he reappeared, he was already in the midair tens of meters above the ground.
*BANG——*
The Centipede Dragon did not stop. It ran for a few dozen seconds further before its massive body vanished from sight.
“That guy looks like Francis. Is he hunting the Centipede Dragon?”
Ling Jiu murmured. A maglev airship suddenly emerged from where the Centipede Dragon came. It seemed that it was chasing after the Centipede Dragon.
It was not over yet. As soon as this airship zoomed past, a dozen more were coming from behind, as if they were in a race.
“Why are so many people chasing after the Centipede Dragon?”
Ling Jiu wondered why as he looked at the airships zooming past over his head. “Are they working as a team, or competing with each other?”
One airship suddenly stopped beside him.
The window dropped, and Shi Gang poked his head out.
“Thank God, I finally found you! D*mn it, I can’t even use a cell phone on this d*mn planet! Ling Jiu, get in quickly. We have got to chase after that thing!”
“What is it about, Shi Gang?” Ling Jiu looked puzzled.
“It is important. Get in the airship and I will explain!” Shi Gang hurried him.
With a puzzled look on his face, Ling Jiu hopped into the airship, and Shi Gang closed the hatch and chased in the direction where the dozen or so airships were heading.
“Can you tell me now, Shi Gang?”
“Direbeast hunting operation will probably have to wait.”
Shi Gang took a deep breath, a gleam of excitement flashing in his eyes. “Do you know what I have just found?”
“What did you find?”
“This!”
Shi Gang took out a white rock carefully.

Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
