Fierce Ex-wife: President, Please Be Careful Chapter 169

When Zhao Youlin saw that Mu Tingfeng did not answer her question even after a long time, she became even more certain of her theory. Despite her shock, she also felt pity toward Mu Tingfeng.
If a man was afraid of the dark, nine times out of ten it was because he had experienced a mental trauma in some sort of situation, such as being cruelly shut in a small, dark room for a long time, or being thrown outside during the dark to fend for himself and escape death, or…
Zhao Youlin was originally a police officer, and she had seen plenty of things like this before, and the first things she thought about were this series of possibilities.
When she remembered Mu Tingfeng's status, Zhao Youlin easily conjured up all the possibilities behind why Mu Tingfeng would be afraid of the dark, and she found an absolutely suitable reason for Mu Tingfeng to be afraid of the dark.
With that thought in mind, Zhao Youlin's originally stiff body slowly relaxed in Mu Tingfeng's arms.
'Forget it. Since he's so pitiful and we're in the same predicament, I'll let him hug me to comfort his tormented soul.'
Mu Tingfeng waited for a long time, and finally, the person in his arms relaxed. His eyes gradually turned gentle, and a cunning smile formed on his lips because his plan had worked.
Unfortunately, at that moment, the elevator was dark, and the only witness present could not notice this.
The atmosphere between the two people in the elevator slowly became cordial. They did not know that the people downstairs were already in a state of chaos.
Once they received the emergency signal from the elevator, the security room instantly descended into chaos. After all, the elevator that encountered a problem was not just any elevator. It was the one specifically made for the general manager.
Most importantly, this elevator had broken down while it was being used. This meant that… there was someone in the elevator, and it was highly likely that it was the general manager herself.

Having an elevator break down was already scary enough, but when there was an important person in the elevator, it became even scarier. The security guards in the security room became nervous, and they quickly looked for the elevator technician before they headed to where the elevator was.
Xia Zhetao followed Zhao Youxi. Just as he arrived in front of the elevator door, he heard those employees hurry upstairs, and they were shouting at each other with incredibly panicked voices, "Quick, something's wrong with the cable of the elevator above us. One of them has already snapped. The other ones are showing signs of corrosion. They won't last long and will snap one after another. The elevator is now stuck between the 45th and 46th floors. Have someone think of a way to get the elevator open. The general manager is still inside!"
When Xia Zhetao heard the employees' words, his expression changed drastically. Zhao Youxi had been running in front of him, and her face was pale as well. Her delicate body swayed, and she looked like she was about to fall at any moment.
Xia Zhetao cast Zhao Youxi an instinctive glance, and he saw panic, despair, and a hint of guilt on her face, but saw no signs of shock. It seemed like she was already expecting something to happen to the elevator.
Once he realized this, Xia Zhetao scowled, and when he stared at Zhao Youxi's his gaze became complicated.
But before he could think about this in-depth, those employees quickly rushed past him, stirring up wind as they did so. At the same time, they snapped him out of his daze.
Xia Zhetao shuddered, and he instinctively shouted, "Wait, there's one more person in the elevator! My president is inside too!"
The employees who were running up heard Xia Zhetao's shout, and they instinctively stopped. One of them was the first to register what he said, and he asked, "Who is your president?"

"I'm the secretary of Mu Tingfeng, who's the president of Mu Feng Group. My president went into the elevator with the former… with your general manager. Right now, he should be stuck in the elevator with your general manager."
The group was speechless.
Someone… from Mu Feng Group? Then, the other person in the elevator was the young master of the Mu family, the president of Mu Feng Group, and the legendary ex-husband of the general manager!
It was already nerve-wracking that the general manager was trapped in the elevator, but now, President Mu was also trapped inside, and this definitely spelled trouble!
Zhao Youxi's face turned pale when she saw Xia Zhetao. 'I thought this person is always together with Mu Tingfeng. Why did Mu Tingfeng enter the elevator while he was outside?'
Meanwhile, she also felt anxious. Did he see how she had lost her composure just now? Did he suspect her?
Xia Zhetao was clearly thinking about something similar to Zhao Youxi. Once he finished speaking with those employees, he abruptly turned his head around to look at Zhao Youxi, and he was just in time to see Zhao Youxi's panicked look. His eyes flashed a little.
After recovering from their initial shock, one of the rescuers swiftly picked up his walkie-talkie and shouted, "Emergency! Emergency! There's one more person aside from the general manager in the elevator! One more person! The elevator is carrying two adults, and the cable might break even faster! We must speed up the rescue process! Get the other people in the department over to help, pronto! Over!"
When the employees who heard the ruckus came over to observe the situation and heard that person's shouts, they were surprised.
In an instant, they descended into a commotion. In the end, even Zhao Shunrong and Duan Yarong were shocked.
When Duan Yarong heard that Zhao Youlin was trapped in the elevator and that she was in grave danger because it might fall at any moment, she nearly fainted on the spot.
Fortunately, Zhao Shunrong saw it and quickly supported her. Xiao Jingyao also hurried over when he heard the news, and he comforted her nonstop, telling her not to worry and that the rescuers had already rushed over, so Zhao Youlin was definitely going to be fine.
But after Duan Yarong wrapped the information in her head, she was inconsolable. The moment she regained a bit of her strength, she hurried to the rescue site.
The two people in the elevator had no way of knowing about the ruckus outside the elevator.
Mu Tingfeng hugged the person in his arms, and for the first time in his life, he did not know what to do. The feelings in his heart were really complicated.
On one hand, he hoped that the people downstairs would hurry up so that they could get out of this dangerous cage and escape to safety soon, but on the other hand, he hoped that those people would arrive later so that he could use the cover of darkness to have the person in his arms stay a little longer. After all, this chance did not come by often.
Zhao Youlin was tall, and she was considered really tall among girls, but when compared to Mu Tingfeng, she was still outmatched. When Mu Tingfeng hugged her, the breath she exhaled was basically brushing against Mu Tingfeng's neck, causing him stiffen up even more. Even his ears were growing hotter.
After a long while, Mu Tingfeng was finally unable to hold back. He called out to her, "Zhao Youlin…"
Due to the suddenness, Zhao Youlin responded dumbly, "Huh?"
"I…"
But Mu Tingfeng could not finish speaking. They heard a loud clang, and the elevator tilted again. This time, it swayed even more intensely than before!

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

Polaris Dark
This is not the most expensive nor the first VRMMORPG of the third decade in the twenty-first century. [The Millennium Ascedency], otherwise known simply known as ""Ascendency"" to the public, became the number one game in the Japanese gaming community within three months. Soon after, the world joins in on the action, bringing it to the spotlight in the entertainment sector and is the reigning champion of popularity two years after the launch. Both men and women are into this game, both casual and professional players can be found... So what will happen when a curious young girl encounters this game without the intention to play? Will she become another gamer that is lost in the masses or will she prove to be someone that changes the VR world forever? [This is rated 18+ for blood, gore, suggestive content, sexual violence, coarse language and other mature content not intended for a younger audience. Please don't ignore this warning and then complain that you are offended by the content, it just doesn't work that way.] [All scenes that contains explicit sexual content will be placed into spoilers as a precautionary measure.] [Unfortunately, there have been too many Virtual Reality Stories as well as those that have elements of gaming. At this point, my wish for something more unique has pretty much gone down the drain. I will have to put this on story on an indefinite hiatus until the popularity of the Virtual Reality Stories has gone down or else this story may get fully dropped. I sincerely apologize for those who liked the story and wish for it to continue.] >>> I am currently working on a new story that is of another genre. It is at the planning stage right now so it is not an official announcment for a new story.
