Chapter 94: Unexpected Gains (3)
However, this hinted that the two of them had had a sexual relationship before. Otherwise, why would she use such a reason to coax him into marriage?
Little did Zhao Youlin expect the pretty girl in the police force who had been described as someone talented with a good sense of judgment by Mu Chen to actually be like this.
Judging from Li Yan’s demeanor, he apparently did not have much feelings for Lu Shu. Even so, she still threw herself at him, much less attempt to seduce him when he gave her a cold shoulder. She even tricked him despite knowing he did not love her.
Zhao Youlin did not want to continue listening to their conversation. One was ignorant, the other tried to bind him with his child. It was hard for one to have good feelings for her when she was no more like the previous Zhao Youlin.
Just as Zhao Youlin was about to turn around and leave with a lack of interest, Lu Shu’s following words made her pause mid-stride.
When Li Yan learned that he had a child out of nowhere, his panic was far greater than the joy of fatherhood. He was so shocked that he accidentally let go of Lu Shu.
His reaction had greatly exceeded Lu Shu’s expectations. Originally, she thought that Li Yan would certainly be very happy when she told him that she was pregnant with his child.
With the child as her trump card, Li Yan would have to agree to whatever she said. By the time they got married, she had nothing left to fear and she could not get pregnant with his child for real.
However, she forgot that Li Yan had never had any feelings for her since the beginning. A child conceived without the foundation of love would only end up in shock instead of surprise.

Li Yan’s repulsion had truly burst her bubble and infuriated her.
Her face darkened. Her gentle, longing and frail demeanor soon disappeared. Instead, she put on a straight face and questioned him coldly, “Brother Yan, are you still thinking about Zhao Youlin?”
Zhao Youlin paused mid-step when she abruptly heard her name being mentioned. She turned around and was stupefied when she watched the two people confronting each other. She fell speechless.
‘What did I have to do with you two when you both are quarreling?! If it wasn’t for the fact that we had been assigned to the same team during the mission last time, I wouldn’t have known you two, okay?! Most importantly, I’m not familiar with you guys!’
Zhao Youlin grumbled to herself. Before she finished complaining, Lu Shu further shouted.
The moment Li Yan heard Zhao Youlin’s name, the shocking and lamenting expression on his face was entirely captured by Lu Shu. This had further excited Lu Shu.
“Indeed, you still think about that woman!” Lu Shu raised her voice. Her eyes turned red as she looked at the man who remained silent. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she shouted in a heartache, “What’s good about that woman?! She’s no more than just a pretty face! Is her background as good as mine?! Is she more educated than me?! Is she as popular as me?! Why did you fall for her and not pay any attention to me?!”
Zhao Youlin, who had been hiding in a corner on the street, was truly shocked when she heard this.
Li Yan fell for her? When did this happen? Why had she not been the slightest bit aware of it?!
She carefully thought over it. Although Li Yan and herself were in the same batch when they joined the police force, they were in separate teams. So, they hardly meet each other, let alone be considered good friends.
Under such circumstances, how did Li Yan fall for her? The fact that Zhao Youlin could easily hear such breaking news on the street had flustered her greatly.
When Li Yan heard Lu Shu’s accusations, he fell silent for a long while before he blurted out with some difficulties, “She’s just a good person.”

Ursus Ex Machina
Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether. However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked? Probably not, but a man could hope.

Protagonist: The Whims of Gods
Book one now also on Amazon! After quitting her job as a therapist and grabbing some work at a dog shelter, Tess's life became pretty slow. A tad boring, even. It thus came as no small surprise when she was chosen by a god. Thrust into a new world where magic, monsters, and character levels are suddenly a reality, Tess will quickly find that just surviving can be a challenge. It doesn't help that dark forces are stirring, she's woefully underpowered, and that spiders keep trying to claw her face off. One thing's for certain, though: The possibilities are endless. Will she end up wrestling a dragon? Becoming an arch-mage? Opening a quaint, bookstore, coffee shop, and wine bar for elves? The choice is hers... As long as she can live long enough to make it. Protagonist is a fairly classic LitRPG novel with character levels, classes, stats, settlements, and other LitRPG elements. Unlike a lot of LitRPG stories, while the protagonist has some perks, she doesn't start off overpowered. You can expect to see her struggle as she advances. This novel also takes the opportunity to explore some less frequently seen builds, shying away from any min-maxing. Chapters are about ~2000-3000 words and are released at 8:00am ET every other day.

Margrave's Divinity (Rewrite)
Power always comes with a price. Seventeen years ago, obsidian towers thousands of feet tall erupted from the earth near the world’s population centers. Strange magic accompanied their appearance—powerful and inexplicable abilities granted to lucky humans, called Embers for the burning in their eyes. Lyle isn’t lucky, though. When the recently-unemployed college dropout finally manages to get his hands on a Cinder, he is utterly disappointed to find that he will never be an Ember like his father or brother. Before he even has time to process his failure, a strange Ember shoves him through a tear in reality and into the cave of a dragon, where the titanic beast claims to be an ancient goddess of myth and legend. She has a gift for him, but it comes with a warning. War is coming. --- Posting Thursdays and Sundays at 8am Central. Confused about the rewrite? See my letter to previous readers here.
