Although the process had fallen short of her expectation, Zhao Youlin got back what she had wanted. She even managed to gain a verbal advantage before leaving. Zhao Youlin’s agitated heart calmed down a little instead of wanting to cuss at Mu Tingfeng which was something she wanted to do every single time she saw him.

After settling the issue, Zhao Youlin planned to go home straight. After all, she was worried about leaving Joy all alone in the house as he was still only a child.

However, things went contrary to her wishes. Soon after she left the cafe and was about to call a cab home, she saw two familiar faces coming out of a magnificent jewelry outlet across the street not far away from her.

Zhao Youlin froze. She paused her already outstretched and shooed away a cab that had stopped by after seeing her hand gesture. Then, she strode across the street and went up to the two people who seemed like they were fighting over something.

Zhao Youlin also wondered why she was drawn over to follow them out of nowhere. Perhaps it was because she saw Li Yan.

Li Yan was the captain of the second team who had joined her in the mission of arresting people at the harbor in the beginning.

Meanwhile, the woman who followed closely behind Li Yan was also a member of his team. She was Lu Shu, one of the prettiest police officers.

Zhao Youlin was not very close with the woman. She used to hear about her from Mu Chen occasionally and was aware of her presence in the police force.

Apart from her pretty face, she was also highly educated. Many male police officers pursued her, but she had a good sense of judgment. Zhao Youlin heard that at the end of the day, none of the male police officers ever successfully courted her.

At that time, Zhao Youlin sighed helplessly upon hearing this from Mu Chen and said, “I’m good-looking too. But, why did no one pursue me after being so long in the police force?”

Back then, Zhao Youlin had treated those gossips as jokes. They now felt like ages ago.

‘When did Li Yan and Lu Shu get together? Is this just a coincidence or…’

As Zhao Youlin was in a daze, Lu Shu abruptly cried out in shock. She had walked very fast in a pair of high heels and accidentally sprained her ankle.

Originally, Li Yan was walking in front of her with his mind wandering somewhere about. He was immediately snapped out of a daze when he heard the scream. He turned his head and saw Lu Shu fell on the floor.

“Brother Yan,” Lu Shu sat on the floor and called out to Li Yan pitifully with a gentle and longing look.

A hint of hesitation darted across Li Yan’s eyes. He returned to Lu Shu and lent his hand to her.

Lu Shu was overjoyed. When Li Yan helped her to get up from the floor, she moved her right leg slightly sideways and climbed all over Li Yan.

Zhao Youlin saw everything. She noticed the corners of Lu Shu’s lips curling upward the moment she fell into Li Yan’s embrace. She narrowed her eyes dangerously.
