Most children were highly curious about things that they did not know about. Likewise, Joy stared at the various scenes along the streets curiously and excitedly. His exclamation of surprise was heard every once in a while. The corners of Zhao Youlin’s lips curved upward. On one hand, she felt happy because her child was gleeful. On the other hand, she felt poignant when she noticed her child’s ever-growing curiosity at things surrounding him.

Before Zhao Youlin had a child of her own, she did not understand why mothers like to spoil their children. However, ever since she had her own child, she finally understood. The feeling was amazing as she saw her own flesh and blood gradually grow up. Seeing the smile on the child’s face, she wished she could provide all the best things she had to offer to him.

She thought to herself and decided that she would play with her child more often in the future. Zhao Youlin led Joy into the nearest large supermall.

“Joy, is there anything that you want to buy?”

Joy raised his head and looked at Zhao Youlin. There was a hint of expectancy in his eyes, and asked, “Anything?”

Zhao Youlin reached out to caress Joy’s small head. She smiled as she said, “Yes. Anything.”

Joy’s eyes sparkled. He excitedly dragged Zhao Youlin and rushed toward the shopping arena.

So to speak, Joy eventually did not buy anything at all after walking one round the entire shopping mall. Meanwhile, Zhao Youlin bought a lot of basic necessities.

Zhao Youlin looked at her son who was excited when he entered the supermarket but looked depressed soon after. She squatted and patiently looked at Joy’s wide and crystal-clear eyes. She asked, “Is there really nothing that you want to buy, Joy?”

Joy swept his glance over the large shopping mall. He shook his head in disappointment.

“Woof! Woof! Woof!” Just then, a loud barking sound came from the side.

Joy was instantly attracted to it in the midst of the conversation with Zhao Youlin. He widened his eyes, and they sparkled as he saw a small poodle being held in the arms of a noblewoman not far away from him. His eyes were filled with curiosity and adoration.

Zhao Youlin noticed his son’s unpretentious and evident reaction. The next second, she understood. She said with a smile, “Joy, do you like small animals?”

Joy hesitated for a moment. Then, he nodded, and sounded her out, “Mommy, can I keep a puppy as a pet?”

To be honest, Zhao Youlin disagreed with the idea of a child keeping a small animal as a pet. After all, the child was still very young. There would be a lot of bacteria especially hugging and kissing the small animal at home.

However, when she saw Joy’s expectant look, she could not bring herself to refuse him. She asked, “Joy, can you please tell me why you want to keep a puppy as a pet at home?”

Joy was a little stunned. He glanced at Zhao Youlin cautiously. Then, he lowered his head and bit his lips. After some time, only then did he blurt out, “So that I’ve got a dog to accompany me when you’re not at home, Mommy.”
