The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 202

"How do you know all this?"
"Where did you hear all this from?", Jay asked.
Alon smiled and said, "These things were recorded in books of that time."
"Although some had been lost in wars, many were still preserved."
"Also, the stories about our king, our God, and our savior were passed to next-generation orally too.", was what he said.
On hearing that Jay thought that there were many chances of the story to get exaggerated, if it was oral that is.
So he had to question himself again, 'Is this really the truth or just some exaggerated fairy tale?'
He had the answer to the question with him. In fact, he had felt the overwhelming power earlier even when his level wasn't maxed out.
'Indeed, there is some truth behind this story…', he nodded his head while thinking about that.
"…"
After thinking about these things for some more time, he thought about training to get strong.
For some reason, the fighting spirit that he lacked, all of a sudden, started to burn inside his body. There was a flame in his eyes. His heart started to beat faster probably because of the imagination of his future strong self.
Alon, the demon, seemed like a good demon. The reason was simple, he explained such a long thing patiently and briefly.
Although it was bothersome, he didn't move or show any signs of tiredness.
Sitting for two hours straight who be tiresome indeed. Jay, the one who was listening to the story, was tired instead.
So he indeed found that sincerity and earnestness in Alon.
In any case, the bottom line was that he wants to grow stronger at the moment. Learning from a stronger person is the best thing that one could do to get stronger other than practice.

So Jay thought about asking Alon, however, he was hesitant.
What if he finds out that I have very little powers in reality? – he asked himself the same question again and again.
He was nowhere near his full power and in this state, everything around him could be considered a danger!
'What do I do?', and just when he had asked this question and frustrated a bit, the system replied to him in a fabulous way.
'Ding'

'This is…'
Some extraordinary mission was given to him this time. Although he wasn't sure about the Hell Demon Arts, it did sound somewhat cool.
More than that, the rewards that were being displayed from the start looked awesome.
'Demon mode?'
'Demonic Overdrive?'
'What are these?', he was genuinely surprised to see them.
Though, he had already set his mind to get them. But then again, the penalty seemed way too much.
He would lose two of his useful skills if he were to fail, that was just too much.
In any case, there was no option to accept the mission anyway, he would just have to complete that at all costs.
"Hey Alon…"
"Yes, your highness?", Alon was surprised by Jay's sudden call.
"Do you know anything about the Demon Arts?", he asked.
"Huh?", now that came as a surprise for sure.
Asking a demon if he knew demon arts, seemed somewhat stupid. Well, it was not stupidity at the same time, to begin with because not every demon knew such arts.

'Demon Arts?'
"Yes, I do know how to perform those.", Alon replied with the same surprised tone.
"…"
"Then, will you teach me?", he asked.
Well, asking Alon to teach him may have been a good choice but wouldn't that let Alon know that Jay is short in something?
At least, that could have happened if the mysteries about the Dark Overlord weren't known by Alon.
"…"
'The Dark Overlord…'
'I've read about it somewhere…'
'The Dark Overlord couldn't learn or use the demon arts when he was in the Netherland.'
'That was the only thing, he couldn't master…'
Yes, the Dark Overlord failed to learn the Demon Arts. Actually, this was only because the nature of the skill or arts was way different from his darkness.
He had to turn into a demon to use that, also, if there was no demonic blood, one couldn't use that art.
But that didn't mean that the Dark Overlord couldn't use that skill, he was an exception after all.
Darkness was present in demons too, this meant that he could turn himself into a demon!
In fact, he had actually turned into a demon – Diablo.
The so-called famous monarch of hell, who ruled the next generation after the Dark Overlord left was none other than Diablo.
While he was thought to be some other demon, it was none other than the Dark Overlord himself!
He definitely learned the Demon Arts then, however, no one knew who he was!
This was something Alon didn't know about since he had never heard or read about it.
Diablo? He was quite famous, but him actually being the Dark Overlord – that was never heard of.
Anyway, this meant that Jay could learn the skills without any risks, of course, the demon mode became available at the same time.
"Are you sure you want to learn those?", Alon asked.
Jay nodded and said, "Yes…"
Alon thought that Jay was in proper mind, so he didn't think much.
He stood up and walked towards aside and said, "I will give you some books, please refer them…"
"After you learn those and memorize them, we will go with practical methods…", now that was very detailed.
Probably that was how demons were taught.
"Alright…", that's all Jay said and waited for Alon to bring the books.
'Hmm, I wonder what this demon mode is?'
'Will I become a demon if I use that?', Jay asked himself.
'That will be cool...'
"…"
To be continued…

8 232The Depths of Magic
Synopsis It's the year 2052 and the release of the new next-generation full-dive VRMMO game called The Depths of Magic is hitting the world by storm. The game's technology will surpass all other games before it and shock the masses. Hector who goes by the name Locke inside the game is an experienced player of the genre. He is looking to continue his goal of enjoying gaming as well as the competition that goes along with competing for the top ranking spots. Novel Summary The Depths of Magic is a LitRPG novel focused on a Fantasy VRMMO setting. This is not a harem novel. In-Game systems The Depths of Magic features state-of-the-art technology never before seen in Hector's world. The key system the novel will bring up often is the Second Brain. The Second Brain system is more like a guidance AI for the players in the game that acts as if you had a second brain assisting your every action. How much guidance this AI will give is based on its experience or mastery skills a player will receive in the game. The guidance is seamless to a point where a player won't even realize they are being assisted, it's will feel like what they are doing is something they could always do. However, once they leave the game it will become quite apparent that they were receiving heavy guidance. The purpose of this system in a writing sense is to explain why a player can realistically become more powerful, more agile, or more skilled than they would otherwise be able to as a human. To give an example if someone could move faster than a bullet, how would a normal human brain be able to perceive and control this movement properly. Or how could a player who has never held a sword before become as experienced as someone who has trained with the sword all their lives? The magic system will be another focus of this novel. I don't want to spoil anything here but it should be an interesting one. The hope is that the system I have made will spark discussion between the readers on what combinations will do what. I already have most of it, but it will be fun to read as the author. Side notes My general focus for this novel is to attempt to make the in-game systems make sense. To give a vague example I have read a lot of novels of this genre and some have the habit of just creating such powerful items that it just breaks the system, and somehow the MC keeps finding challenging situations even with those items. What tends to happen when I read a novel like this I just ignore the stats of the items he is getting because the numbers don't even matter anymore. Release schedule: The chapter release schedule due to real-life complications is to release as I write them. Patreon setup: 1 chapter early release/discord access. Free content up to the current chapter includes an excel sheet that contains Locke's current stats at the end of the chapter. This is extra information for those that are interested.

8 194The Chaos Within
