The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 195

"Your highness..."
The person was losing his senses one by one. First, he lost his vision, and then was his hearing.
At least that's how it seemed, however was just near the death!
"I...", Jay was still cursing himself for not being able to heal him.
'Why did I lose those skills specifically?', he asked himself.
"Wait, let me...", he was about to run and get some medical kit after searching the place when he noticed that the person whom he wanted to save was already dead!
"..."
He could do nothing at all. There was one person alive in front of him but he couldn't even save him.
"..."
His body was boiling with anger, needless to say, he wanted to scream however he contained himself.
"There were no guards when I entered the gates...", was what he said.
This meant that the guards were also killed, or perhaps there were no guards, to begin with.
In any case, one thing was for sure, the massacre was done by some maniac because the way they were killed was way too abnormal.
Also, the person tried to tell Jay to save someone however Jay had no idea about whom he was speaking about.
He took a deep breath to see here and there and found what the person was trying to say.
"Among all the dead bodies and parts that I've found, I haven't seen a single woman until now...", of course, it was an exaggeration. He did find but very little.
When he compared the number of male bodies that he saw, the number of female bodies was only 1% of it.
Children's bodies were hanged and butchered like the adult males, however again when compared, there were far too few children.
He was suspicious so he went near many hoses to check and indeed, he found some olden shoes made up of wood and fur. The number of children per house ranged to be three in an average manner so it should have made sense if he were to find more bodies of children.
"..."
"Does this mean..."
"Children and women were dragged away by the ones who massacred?"
"And the ones who were killed were all those who disobeyed them?", he asked himself.

It was indeed true, the people who were killed were either very healthy or were quite skinny.
It was for sure that they had taken the women and children away and also took average men away who could work for them.
It was as if they wanted space and by this, it was made sure.
"..."
He looked here and there to find if there were any other survivors but no matter how much he looked, there was no one else who was alive.
Of course, this was confirmed by the system too when he asked, "System, search this area and find the alive ones..."
'Ding'
[ Command Accepted ]
[ Searching... ]
'Ding'
[ Search completed ]
[ Number Of Alive Netherlanders : 0 ]
[ Search Range: 2 km ]
Indeed, with this, it was confirmed that no one within a range of 1 km was alive.
Of course, there might be someone alive out of the range due to which he decided to keep on Searching with the help of the system as he walked, however, found none.
He left the person who died earlier as it is. Well, tears were running down his eyes even now for reason unknown.
In any case, now Jay was aware of whom he had to save.
'System, save the type of men who are dead here...', was what he said.
'Ding'
[ Command Accepted ]
[ Scanning for sample... ]
All of a sudden the system started to scan the pile of dead bodies that were around him.
Of course, he could feel the scanning because a wave was emitted from him when the system notified him about scanning!
'Ding'
[ Scanning completed ]
[ Arco Demi-humans confirmed ]
[ Do you want to save their data? ]
[ Yes/No ]
Jay had asked for this and of course, he wanted to save their data.
"Yes...", that was indeed the obvious choice.
With the help of this, he would be able to identify similar people.
That way, he would know who to save and who to not.
Well, he did have a concern, what if the ones who attacked the dead ones were of similar races or matched with the sample?
That was indeed a thing to be noted because that would indirectly mean that he would start saving those who were the ones that initiated the murder.

That way, he would get stabbed in his back while trying to protect them, he couldn't let this happen for sure so he had to be cautious.
'Ding'
[ You have reached the limit of Fire Repulsion ]
[ Your body will start to get harmed because of the fire ]
This was the notification that popped up.
Earlier, it did say that his resistance against the fire would increase and it certainly did, however, his body also had a limit.
If any normal Hunter, or Jay in his weakest state would have entered this area, he would have turned into ash long ago!
The Demi-humans that lived here had red skins for a reason! If they had normal human like skin, then they would have turned into ash too in no time.
They had to evolve a type of skin that would protect them from getting burnt by fire and that was how their skins ended up turning red, of course, as the time passed that is.
But since the whole city was in fire, the left side at least, Jay was also getting affected by it.
However, was it really a disadvantageous situation for him?
The answer was no, that was because he had a dope skill that would let him absorb the heat or fire and turn it into his own power, MP or HP of course.
'Ding'
[ The system advises the host to run away from the fire ]
This was the system's advice. It was inevitable after all the system would first think about the host's safety in such unpredictable or tough situations instead of giving him a chance to get stronger.
The mission that the system generated was all calculated, it was as if the host would never die in those missions, though it always gave penalties or threats only to make Jay much more serious.
However Jay had something else in mind, he was thinking of taking advantage of the situation.
He might be a crazy bastard with insane IQ while low EQ or idiocy, he was still sane enough to understand his own skills and situations.
Or this might have been a special case where he showed his not-so-existing wit!
'Ding'
[ You have used the skill Blaze Sucker ]
[ Abnormaltiy in exterior environment detected ]
[ Excess heat detected ]
[ Fire detected ]
[ The host's body will now suck in the extra heat and fire and turn it into MP and HP ]
His eyes gave off a faint red light when he used the skill.
Indeed, the fire that surrounded him suddenly started to flow towards him with high velocity.
He wasn't scared or afraid because he knew very well that the fire that was coming towards him was nothing more than his energy drink!
Since the entire left side of the city had been set on fire, he had plenty of it to absorb.
Needless to say, his body didn't have the infinite capacity!
His MP couldn't possibly grow and become infinite while his other stats remained normal, his body could basically get destroyed or would explode.
That was a normal conclusion that one would draw, however, Jay did have extra storage in him - The inventory.
Indeed, the inventory was used to store items, however, he could also use it to store the fire. How so?
It was thanks to the weird bottles that Jake had given.
He gave way too many while Jay didn't use that much so he had quite a lot to spare.
It seemed like they had some sort of spatial storage system so there was nothing to worry about.
He would use them as soon as his limit would be reached, but where did his limit lie anyway?
Well, let's say that it was nowhere near. If his MP were to increase, then his Exp would do the same since he is using a skill.
Ultimately he would level up and the process would continue, so to say, those '???' marks became the biggest factor that decided his limit, in other words - limitless!
'Let's gain as much fire as possible...'
"..."
'The ones who killed all these people will be dead after all they have pissed me off!'
To be continued...
