The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 188

[ Blood Lake Creeper ]
[ -> A Creeper like a plant that drains the blood to grow ]
[ -> Highly sensitive to external stimulus ]
[ -> Weakness: Water ]
Jay took a look at the info of the creepers again after diving and swimming when he reached them.
Well, he had to now think of a way to cut them and bring them back however that didn't mean that he would just take a sword or dagger and cit it.
The reason was quite simple, it was written that the creeper was quite sensitive to external stimulus, which meant that it could do something after feeling the touch of the dagger or the sword.
He was right, he had every right to be cautious of the plant.
If it would have been that easy, then Sebas would be able to bring it within seconds, but there was something wrong with it for sure.
He realized that he was thinking too much and thought about doing something to be sure if anything of everything that he thought was true.
Of course, he had to come back to the surface to take a breather because he had taken way too much time to think about it and then went back inside.
Well, he didn't want to suffer from the pain again. He knew that sufficient oxygen had to be supplied.
In any case, the pain nullification wouldn't let him suffer anyway.
He then swam back towards the plant and then turned his head here and there.
'Hmm...'
'Lemme throw a rock and see its response...', he said to himself and picked a rock from the huge rising stone pillar-like structure near him.
He used a large amount of strength and threw the pebble-like rock which he got just a second ago.
Of course, since he was in a liquid that was denser than the air, needless to say, denser than water, he had to apply a bit more strength.
'Piik'
The rock touched the Creeper plant gently, probably the so-called large strength couldn't even push the small rock all the way to the plant.
Of course, he had a lot of strength, but his body movements were limited, probably pressurized because of the blood above him and below him and surrounding him!

The moment the rock touches the plant, the plan showed no reaction.
"Huh?", Jay waited for a few minutes, probably two to three minutes to see if it showed a late reaction, but he found nothing!
'That's weird...'
'Wasn't it sensitive?'
'Doesn't it show any response to stimuli?', he asked himself.
Perhaps, if the plant had shown some movements then it would have been better because he could analyze it easily.
But now that it showed no sign of motion, he had to think of it as some sort of trap or it could be that he was just thinking too much.
'Let's see...'
'Ding'
[ You Have equipped the Cursed Daggers ]
[ Attack power doubled ]
[ Defense doubled ]
[ HP recovering rate decreased 50% ]
[ MP recovering rate decreased by 50% ]
He then threw the dagger that he was holding in his right hand with great force.
It went making a curve and successfully hit the roots of the plant.
The plant seemed to be around five-meter long so it could have been heavy too, at least that's what he thought.
Until now he had been considering it as a monster.
Regardless, he was able to lift it with ease, he found out that there was no trick to this.
It was just clear, the plant could feel the external stimulus with ease and be hypersensitive, but it has no response against any factors except water.
He then pulled the plant all the way to the top. The dagger vanished and returned to the inventory on their own.
Within a minute he was out of the Blood Lake with the plant in his hand.
"Good, we got now two items...", Jake said with a smile but Jay wasn't satisfied with this.
He wanted to ask about the plant and so he did as he planned.
And Jake too started to explain about it.
"Indeed, it is quite sensitive to external stimuli...", he said in a low voice.
"But it doesn't show any response..."
That much even Jay had concluded, he wanted to know more.
But those were just useless info, anyway, Jake still told a line or two.
"It doesn't show response to anything other than water..."

"Do you know why it grows in a lake of blood in this desert specifically?", Jake asked.
Jay just shook his head while denying that he had no idea about this.
"As you know, Blood also contains water..."
"But since it is not purely water, the plant is able to survive..."
"However when you take normal water, to quite an extent it is purer than blood, in that the plant dies."
"Since it doesn't rain much in the desert, they grow in the blood lakes of these regions."
Whatever Jake said made sense, Jay also understood those things just by listening once.
However, he had no more time to waste. He then immediately asked Jake to take to a different location.
Of course, he stored the entire plant in the inventory.
"Alright...", right after saying this, he opened another gate or portal and both of them entered it.
In an instant, they arrived at another place. Despite the earlier desert-like area, the current area was filled with vegetation, to be precise, they were standing in a forest!
They were surrounded by trees and many green things. Not that green things were bad for their eyes, but they were just so many that finding the path could end up being difficult.
"So, we will be finding monsters from which we can take blood.", was what Jake said.
"Huh...?"
Jay thought that he could have used anyone's blood because of which he was thinking of using the blood of the monsters that the vampires had defeated or killed earlier.
So he was thinking that there was no need for doing that.
He explained it to Jake and said, "So I think..."
"We can just skip this place and go to the next place..."
Just when Jay said that Jake raised his voice and stopped him from saying anything else.
"You think those puny monsters that were hunted by your minions would be worthy enough to aid the evolution of the Dark Overlord?", Jake asked in a loud voice.
The voice was loud enough to cause the birds to fly away from the nearby trees.
"Listen Jay..."
"You are the vessel for the Dark Overlord..."
"You are the one who is being called as Dark Overlord..."
"You should behave like one..."
"Don't you dare say such a thing again!", it was as if Jake respected the Dark Overlord due to which he commanded him not to say anything like that.
"You will hunt the monsters here and will take their blood!", he said.
"You will store them in these bottles...", while saying this he flashed a lot of small bottles colored with a cream layer with black stripes all over them.
"After killing a beast, you just need to flash this bottle in front of them...", Jake said.
Of course, it seemed like he had something like a forage ring since he got them out from the ring that he was wearing.
Of course, Jay stored all those bottles in his inventory so that he could pull them out whenever required and could store the blood of the monster.
"And beware..."
"There are a lot of monsters with SS+ Rank here..."
Just when he said that Jay flinched a bit.
In the starting, he was able to slay a serpent that belonged to rank S thanks to the strong sword and luck, but the difference in level and power was seen clearly!
This was the same case that was being repeated, he was hella weak when compared to the SS+ Rank monsters!
"Don't you think I would end up dying?", he asked Jake while trying his best to smile despite the fact that he was sweating profusely due to fear.
"Haha, you and die?"
"What a joke, do you really think the Dark Overlord could die so easily?", Jake asked while laughing.
"All that would happen is your limbs would get ripped off from your body, but even if that happens, trust me, you will be alive."
"So don't worry, you won't die!", Jake said with laughter.
'That's much scarier...', Jay thought with a dark expression:
"And besides, I've boosted your stats haven't I?"
"Don't worry! Haha!", he wasn't just simply laughing, his laughter was actually attracting the monsters from the nearby area.
"..."
To be continued...
