The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 151

"Dad...?", Jay asked in a low tone the moment he took a look at the person who saved him.
"Dad? Who is your dad kid?"
'BAM'
Jay got a nice wack on his head by the person who just saved him.
It did hurt him a little bit that was almost nothing for him.
His vision was blurry and probably that was why he Failed to clearly see the person's face and ended up concluding that it resembled his father's face.
He rubbed his eyes right after which his vision improved and finally when he took a look, he found Rex standing right in front of him.
"R-res sir?", Jay was shocked to find that it wasn't his father that he was expecting, instead it was none other than Res who was the one that saved him.
Regardless, it was right for him to thank Res and thus he bowed and said, "Thanks a lot!"
Rex looked at Jay and said, "Stong men don't bow to anyone..."
It seemed an indirect for Res to say that it wasn't becessary to bow each and every time they meet.
Regardless, that was probably the only way through which Jay could show his sincerity.
"I'm sorry...", he said and almost immediately stood up.
Then he took a look at here and there and recalled what had happened.
He seemed a bit shamed because of the little trick to which he fell a while ago.
But that didn't mean that he would end up giving up on the thing which he was trying to get.
But before that, he wanted to ask Res the way how he got here despite the promise which he had asked him to make.
"Sir Res, I had told you not to come here... and that too you made a promise..."
"But you broke it so easily?", Jay asked with his gazes lowered.
"...", Res had no words to tell right now.
First of all he had no intention of helping him anyway, so the reason for him following him and ending up here could be just curiosity.
Moreover, it didn't seem like he was someone who would go out of his way and do something that would waste his time and won't be beneficial to him like helping a weak F class hunter!
Jay didn't have his hunter re-evaluation test yet because of which he was without a doubt an F tanker as per what the official record says so no matter how strong he grew, the official record, though false or true, would still show him as an F rank.

Res was quiet for a while and didn't say anything and just stood that way while facing the other side of where Jay was standing.
Jay couldn't possibly go and force him to talk because he felt this unknown inferiority due to Res.
Though he was still expecting an answer. He thought that Res didn't want to give any explanation and probably because of that he was looking the other way, but little did he know that Res has tears in his eyes which were flowing down his chin.
'He... he really...'
For a moment he was happy because Jay called him 'Dad'. It felt as if he had gone back to old times when he would be called dad whenever he would visit Jay.
Jay was quite small back then so he didn't know what to call to whom exactly, so he ends up confusing Res and his own dad because of too much similarity in their build and appearance.
Though, now Res had a completely diffeeent build when compared to that time.
Regardless, he ended up crying just for that simple matter.
No matter how hard he tried to prevent himself from letting the emotions get the best out of him, he failed.
But then again, he started to walk and moved out of the chamber where Jay was present.
Right after he moved out, he wiped his own face and just stood there near a cornor and took some time to relax.
Though, Jay felt that Res was rude because he didn't answer him.
That didn't mean that he would end up hating the person who saved him.
'Sigh, let's keep this for later...', he thought about resolving the issue between him and Res later and turned his gazes towards the dazzling mountain of coins on which the chest box was present.
He was thinking hard what to do and how to get because a while ago, he failed to get the chest and ended up falling on the coins which was quite fatal for him.
That was why he didn't want to take any such risks right now.
Moreover, it seemed as if he wanted to save the one and only life point which he has for later because he had no idea when he would need that.
He couldn't just go and sacrifice his life for a mere chest box anyway and thus thought about giving up when all of a sudden he heard a voice from his back.

You want to get that chest box?"
Jay almost immediately turned back and found Res back and standing there with a firm expression.
Though he couldn't understand Res' reason for coming back, he appreciates the thought of him helping Jay.
"Ya...", that all Jay said right after which Res walked close to him.
He then said, "I'll use the Portal so that you could get the box..."
The moment Jay heard that, he thought that it would be quite a benefit for him and without a doubt would help him.
"Alright!!!", he almost immediately agreed to that and positioned himself and waited for Res to form a Portal.
Res just extended his right hand forward with his palm open right after which two portals opened.
"Huh...? Two?", Jay was surprised when he saw Res opening two portals at the same time because he thought that only one would be necessary.
"Why did you forge two portals?", Jay ended up asking that.
"What? Do you think that with the help of only one Portal you can go anywhere you want?", Res asked.
"...", Jay was mum because he had no idea that 2 portals were required for teleporting. He always thought that only one Portal was enough to move from one place to the other.
Res pointed out his finger towards the second Portal that was right above the chest box.
'Hmm... but why would he...", no matter how hard he thought, he couldn't understand as to why 2 portals would exactly be required here But then again when he took a look at the positioning of the second portal, he found some clue about it.
'Don't tell me... he connects both the portals?', when he thought that, he looked at Res and by seeing his smile, he confirmed it.
Whatever he thought was indeed correct.
Regardless, right now he didn't want to worey about that and he could ask him sometime later too.
That was why he asked, "Alright, I'll enter this portal, but can you place the second portal a bit far away from the chest but in the same level?"
Res understood what Jay tried to tell and almost immediately did as he was told.
He almost immediately pulled the second portal a bit back as contrast to how it was placed before.
He lowered it a bit and adjusted its angle in such a way that it would be somewhat parallel to the mountain of coins' slope.
After seeing this Jay nodded his head and said, "Yup, that's good enough..."
Res also had an idea of what Jay was going to do now and thus he just waited patiently.
Jay stretched his body a bit and then almost immediately ran towards the Portal that was placed right in front of him.
The moment he entered the first portal, he came out from the second portal that was right in front of the chest.
He extended his hand and caught the chest and somehow managed to dodge the coins.
Thanks to his speed, he crossed the mountain of coins and now the onny worry that he has was of landing when all of a sudden he found even more coins right in front of himZ
"Sir Res!!!!", he ended up shouting loudly right after which Res forged another Portal right away after dispelling the second portal in which Jay entered and then came out safely.
"Phew... that was close...", Jay sighed in relief when he realised that he was alright.
"Huff... thanks...", he looked at Res and smiled and so did Res.
"Now time to see... what's the item that is stored inside this chest?"
He wanted to open it almost right away only when he realised that he had to find a key in order to open it.
"Huh...? Now where the heck should I find a key from?", Jay looked with an annoyed expression at the chest box that was in his hand.
"You mean this...?", Res flashed the golden coloured key that was in his hand.
Jay didn't know if what she showed was the actual key, but he could always try and took it from him almost immediately.
"You found this here...?", Jay asked to which Res nodded his head.
"Oh well... let's see..."
He inserted it inside the chest which fit almost perfectly.
"Yes!"
'Tick'
'Cluck'
'Click'
'Clang'
"..."
