The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 143

"Can you repeat that again?", Jay asked.
He could hardly even believe his ears as to what he had heard.
"..."
Akaluman waited for a few minutes and then said, "Demodeus is someone who has the power to deastroy earth... he was the one who killed the Dark Overlord Of the past..."
No matter how many times Jay heard that, his heart beat kept increasing and he could hardly believe it.
'Someone... who can destroy the earth?', that was quite surprising because if there indeed was someone who was capable of doing that, then he would without a doubt do that in a second.
Furthermore whatever was told was quite frightening to believe.
Moreover, the one who had killed the Dark Overlord Of the past, the so called Demodeus, he would have been great somehow.
But it seemed like his name was more than enough to Instill fear even in the great dragon Akaluman.
Jay asked, "Who is this Desmodeus? And how did he kill... the Dark Overlord?"
The Dark blacksmith previously had shouted and had about Dark Overlord Who was even feared by death and now that it was told that he died, Rick was getting confused.
The Great Dragon Akaluman looked towards Jay and said, "It's a long story..."
"..."
Jay was indeed curious and wanted to hear it no matter what but right now he wasn't free.
He couldn't possibly hear it because his sister's life was at stake right now.
He said, "Tell me later... right now I need to take care of those bloody sorcerers who dared to touch my sister..."
Jay had placed an artifact on his sister which was like a talisman, but it seemed as if the talisman broke in an instant.
The problem was that even Jay failed to understand that and he didn't even realise that it had happened.
The talisman failed to notify him if something was wrong.
But right now he wasn't thinking about those things in a detailed manner.
He just wanted to save his sister no matter what. He turned his head towards Akaluman and said, "Very well then, I'll come back and hear the story..."
"You are going to fight all the remaining sorcerers on your own?", Akaluman asked.
"...", Jay had no answer to what he asked.
But it seemed like he didn't have any options left either.
He asked, "What are my chances of winning if I fight them?"
Advertisement
Akaluman was mum for a while and then said, "Probably... Zero."
That was what Jay expected and probably knew it before hand because his life was almost squeezed out just by fighting one sorcerer so if he were to fight other remaining 11, without a doubt he would be dead.
But the same question was answered by the system solely after seeing which he decided to go there.
'Ding'
==========
[ Answer ]
-> 0.14%
==========
The same female like voice was heard in his head as earlier and he was now certain after seeing that.
'So my chances of defeating them are almost zero?', Jay thought in his mind.
Then he thought something else and asked in his mind, 'What are the chances of my survival!?'
He was particularly curious about that too. He thought that even though he couldn't defeat them, he could at least escape from them.
'Ding'
==========
[ Answer ]
-> 0.28%
==========
When Jay saw that, he was completely shocked.
He couldn't even understand as to how it was possible that he wouldn't even be able to escape from them and the chances of doing that would be just 0.28% which was just twice that of defeating them.
He failed to even think anything properly and kept on imagining his death in their hands no matter what way he thought about.
Akaluman then all of a sudden said, "You won't be able to defeat the sorcerers at your current strength..."
Jay lowered his gazes because right now he wanted to go and save his sister no matter what.
He could even essentially give up on his life and save her but then again, it wasn't sure that she too would be able to escape when he himself would fail to do that.
"If you go alone, you are destined to die...", was what Akaluman said.
Jay had no other choice than just grit his teeth and clench his fist while his heart was covered with with a list of restriction and anger.
He failed to realise what would be the way out of this mess that had been created.
"Then what do I do? Shouldn't I go to save my sister?", Jay asked with anger.
He could hardly even imagine the death of his sister in their hands.
"I won't forgive them if anything happens to sera...", he said.
Sebas and others could feel his anger clearly because they were some or the other way interlinked.

Also the killing intent that Jay was giving off was more than enough to give a shock to them.
They realized right away that Jay was too troubled because of which they too were thinking of a solution when suddenly Akaluman said, "There is But one way by which you can... just maybe you can defeat them and save your sister..."
The moment Jay heard that, he turned his gazes towards Akaluman with haste.
He was standing 20 metres away from Akaluman and just by hearing that, he covered the distance in a second without even using teleportation.
Sebas and others were shocked to see the extraordinary growth in Jay.
"Tell me... what's the way of saving my sister and defeating those fucking bastards..."
He was giving off a fierce glare like that if a man eater.
It seemed like all his emotions that were based on mercy and kindness had died at the moment which for some reason made Akaluman excited.
"Hmm... I did say that if you go alone you will die... but that won't happen if you take all of us...", he said.
"All... of you?", Jay was confused by what he meant.
"Yes, all of us!"
Jay then took a look at the surrounding and starting thinking deeply.
He knew it very well that Sebas and Katherine were strong and without a Doubt he would be able to use them.
In fact they could be quite handy while taking down one or two sorcerers.
But other than them, he couldn't find any good vampires present there right now.
Although they were A tankers or some below, they couldn't have stood a chance against the sorcerers since Jay had already felt their might.
He just lowered his gazes and was again set into deep though when he recalled that Akaluman was by his side too.
Akaluman, Who was a great dragon and one of the legends, would be without a doubt stronger than them.
Just his presence would be more than enough to instil fear on the foes and that was why he thought that with Akaluman, the tide of the battle could be turned into his favor.
But when he looked at him, he found that Akaluman was still like small stuff toy.
Just by seeing him in this state, he gave up on the idea and the plane hixh he had just thought off.
"This won't work... with just these many I won't be able to...", was what he was going to say when all of a sudden he paused when Akaluman glared at him.
"Listen... I said All of us... that didn't mean only the few ones who were present here..."
"Huh? You mean to say that the 'All Of Us' that you mentioned includes someone else?0, Jay was now even more confused.
His brain failed to keep up with what he tried to say and wanted to know exactly what he meant by that when suddenly he realised that he has some more back up in his hand.
"No way... are you talking about...", Jay stared at Akaluman when he realised the powers which he had got during the Gaia's Territory's quest.
He recalled the title of the Ogre King was th the jelpnof which he would be able to command the Ogre army.
Also the Goblin Kings power Would also help him in leading and summoning the goblins army.
"Yes with this much... I guess..."
"I guess I can win against them...", was what he said while having a faint smile on their faces.
But the same smile turned upside down when he took a look at the system message after asking about the chances of survival or defeating.
'Ding'
==========
[ Chances Of Survival ]
-> 1.14%
[ Chances Of Defeating The Sorcerers ]
-> 4.47%
==========
Though the percentage had without a doubt increased but that was nowhere sufficient to help them get the upper hand over the sorcerers.
Jay was now even more tensed and said, "But even after using the Ogres and Goblins Army, the chances are still less!"
He was now in a panicked state and didn't know what else to do when all of a sudden he heard the great dragon speak.
"Are you an idiot?", he asked.
"Huh...?", Jay failed to understand by what he meant.
"How could you forget them?", he asked.
"..."
"Whom?", Jay wasn't sure about whom Akaluman was telling but all of a sudden he felt some weird energy and aura coming behind him.
It was so large that it even made him take a step back.
"..."
To be continued...

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.
