The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 139

"Huh...?"
Jay took a look at his pants that wrrr torn a bit which was probably because of the time when he found against the sorcerer.
Moreover there were marks of many other attacks on his body.
He understood that he had forgotten to erase those marks and now he was just staring at his mom awkwardly.
"..."
Even Sera was looking at him. It seemed like she too knew about it the moment she glanced at the back of his shirt.
Since he had used the wings of the Wyvern skill, his shirt had tore off. Furthermore, other dust had been accumulated.
There were a lot of blood stains too which weren't that visible as it seemed like he was wearing a black shirt, but they could be easily felt.
Jay averted his gazes and was trying to think of an excuse when suddenly his mom moved her hand towards him and placed it on his chin.
"Listen to me Jewel...", she thought something densely as it could be easily seen from the gloomy expression that she was making.
It was as if she was going to tell something that was very painful for her and probably that was why she gulped a large amount of dry saliva and prepared herself.
"Yes mom...", Jay said as if he was waiting for her to speak.
"Do you know the reason because of which I'm afraid from letting you become a hunter?", she asked.
"..."
Jay paused for a moment. He didn't have any answer for the question that she asked because he too wanted to know that.
But it seemed like the answer was somewhat in his heart which he knew subconsciously.
"It's because of your father...", she said.
"F-father?"; Jay's eyes bulged when he heard that.
He could now understand as what he was feeling to be so familiar. It seemed as if he was thinking the same thing subconsciously.
'Now that I think about it... I heard about him from the sorcerer...', Jay thought and recalled the moment.
"I guess you might be knowing... your father was a hunter...", she said with a low voice.
Sera, who didn't knew much about these, seemed to show a keen interest in this.
It seemed like she wanted to hear everything about it. She continually stared at her mom and Jay while they conversed.

'Ya mom... I know that...', Jay too lowered his head when he thought that.
"You know... he died while saying the people from the 'X-District'...", she said with a shaky voice.
The moment Jay heard that, he could hardly control his anger because he remembered something awful from what Jeff had said earlier.
"I somehow moved on... and raised you both and your elder sister...", she seemed quite sad while saying that.
"But then, your sister who also aspired to become a hunter.., ended the same way...", she literally cried off when she said that.
Jay immediately got down from the bed and walked towards her and held her.
It seemed as if he wanted to comfort her because just saying this would require a huge amount of courage.
Jay too had eyes filled with tears which was the same for Sera too.
Although she didn't remember much, she knew one thing that she was having an empty heart.
It really felt as if some people were missing. Sera was just staring at blank space when he heard this.
"It's alright mom... don't worry...", Jay said.
His mom then immediately hugged him and asked, "That means you won't go to any other missions right?"
For some reason she asked that question in order to satisfy herself even though she knew what he was going to reply with.
"Mom... I'm a hunter..."
"I can't get scared of dying and stop my hunting...", he said.
The moment she heard this, she paused all of a sudden.
Her tears seemed to have vanished for reasons unknown and she just stared at Jay.
'He... just now he... he said the same thing as...'
She could recall the saying of his husband which he usually used to say everytime when she would ask him to stop hunting.
'I can't believe... he... he...', she had no words at all.
In the end she had nothing more to do because it seemed like Jay wouldn't stop right now.
Also, he had actually made a promise with Akaluman about the Battle after 5 years.
He wanted to know more about it and was just preparing himself and at this time he didn't want to be hindered by anyone.
Basically he was damn crazy about being the strongest hunter for some reason.

"Sigh, what else can I say? If you want to do it and have already decided... then go for it.", his mom said with a smile on her face.
For a second Jay felt that whatever she told was a bit sarcastic because he could clearly see tears in her eyes.
For a second he thought that she wanted to just stop thinking about him and abandon him but then again when he saw her wiping off the tears and then smile again, he understood that he wasn't abandoned.
Instead, he was now much more closer with his mom.
"Thanks mom...", he hugged her tightly.
Sera; who had been sitting and constantly staring at the blank space since earlier, didn't move even an inch.
It was quite weird because she had stopped blinking her eyes too.
Moreover, it seemed like her breathing had stopped, she had somewhat become like a real statue.
Though Jay and his mom didn't observe this for now. They just kept talking to each other after which Jay just escorted her out.
Both of them had totally forgotten about Sera at the moment.
After Jay left her mom till the exit, he came back because he still had 2 more checkups oending for the day after which he would finally be discharged tomorrow.
He slowly opened the door onmy to find himself gey surprised when he took a look at Sera.
"Sera? Haha"
"What are you doing here even now?"
"Mom has already gone...", he laughed a bit and said that to her but it seemed as if his words didn't reach her.
"Huh...!? Sera...?", he asked once again but there was no response yet again.
"Wait... Sera..."
"..."
"Sera can you hear me!!?", he dashed towards her and stood exactly in front of her.
For a moment he thought that she was just joking or pranking but after seeing that she wasn't moving even an inch, he thought that something was definitely wrong with her.
He slowly moved his hands towards her and touched her fore-head when suddenly a crack formed.
"Huh...?"
The crack spread throughout her body and in an instant, Sera shattered into pieces.
"Wha-"
Jay froze for a moment when he saw that happen.
He slowly turned his gazes to the ground in order to look at Sera's broken parts but he ended up being even more surprised.
"What the..."
He could see a huge amount of clayey sand like pieces that had fallen down.
"This is..."
He slowly moved his hand towards the pieces that were on the ground and then picked them up.
"A... part of a statue?", he looked at it carefully.
It was just like a stone which was similar to that of his wings.
It didn't have any warmth and was cold too.
"Wait... what the..."
He was now totally confused as to what had happened because Serena just completely turned into stone and broke at the same time too.
He hardly even knew about it because this was happening too suddenly.
"Sera... what happened to her?", he panicked for a bit because it was no joke.
It seemed a bit serious when all of a sudden he discovered a small piece of letter which was in between the broken pieces of rocks.
Jay noticed it and immeodyawjy picked it up in order to see what it was and found that something important was written inside it.
"What the heck!!? This..."
He was awed when he read the letter and his anger knew no bounds.
He all of a sudden used dark lightning from his hands and burned the paper completely into ashes.
"How dare you..."
Black smoke or mist like aura appeared from his eyes which covered the entire red part of his pupil which formed just now.
It seemed like he was too angered to event hink anything straight.
"How dare you do this to my sister...?"
He grit his teeth and clenched his fist because something unbearable and unacceptable was written in the letter.
"I won't let you alive..."
"You won't see tomorrow's sun...", he said with utmost anger and it was probably the first time in his entire life when he had been so angry over something.
"I will most definitely kill you!!!!"
He shouted at the top of his voice but his shout was no less than that of a dragon or a monsters roar.
"You bloody sorcerers!!!! I'm on my way!!!"
To be continued...
