The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 127

Jay finally arrived at the destination. He could see a large pile of rocks in front of him which was supposed to be the bricks or stones that was once used for the buildings.
It seemed as if the city was destroyed and now only its ruins remained. Jay could clearly see a cave like opening in front of him which was basically the entrance that would lead him to the blacksmith.
He slowly walked towards the entrance and waited outside for a while. He looked here and there and found nothing nearby.
He thought it was neat to not waste anymore time and just walked in. The moment he placed his one foot inside, a system notification popped up.
'DING'

Jay went a bit in and read the notification. It was nothing much to be happy about but it did reassure him that the system was working perfectly.
Without thinking much, he walked in even deeper and as he moved, his instincts started to make him wary.
It was like a passage which was similar to that of the sky dungeon's passage. Though the only difference was that, torches were placed all the way here.
"Hmm, Weird... have they been lit for so long?", Jay asked himself.
It was a common knowledge that fire would extinguish soon when it's source energy gets over so it was kind of weird that the fires were burning so brightly.
For a second he thought that these all might have been prepared a while ago, but when he took a look at the flames, his thoughts became clearer.
"Mana flames?", he asked himself.
It was a common knowledge among the hunters. It was also broadcasted among hunters due to which all of them came to know.
One of the fire type hunter who reached a high rank gave an interview in which he revealed about the 3 types of flames that he has ever encountered with.
They were - Normal Flame, Crystal Flame and Mana Flame.
Normal Flame was the normal fires that was used for cooking and other purposes. They would extinguish rather easily. A source was always required for them.
Crystal flames were something that were produced by specific enchanted crystals.

Those crystals had some packets of fuel inside them due to which even a bit of ignition would let them cause flames.
This were a bit different types of flames as they couldn't be extinguished with water.
In order to extinguish them, either blood, or other liquid that was similar to boood was required and specifically because of that very reason it was also called as Demon Flames or blood flames!
The third and last type of flames that was told was the mana Flame. As the name describes, it's a flame that is caused by using mana as the source.
This Flame cannot be extinguished no matter what unless the mana supply was cut.
That was why Jay was intrigued when he looked at that because he wasn't able to feel any mana in the passage way.
'Did he...', he wondered if the blacksmith has built specific channels that connected the mana reservoir and the the flame torches.
That way the mana would be transferred easily from the reservoir to the torch and it would glow endlessly.
It was possible because he was a blacksmith and thus he didn't neglect this possibility.
"Oh well, I will see about this later... right now my main priority is to meet the blacksmith...", was what he told and then started to walk further ahead.
The passage started to get wider as he walked and a point came when the passage got divided into 3 sub passages.
The problem was that Jay had no idea in which he should have gone.
'Should I...', he thought about using mana sense.
He slowly allowed some of his mana to exit his body and flow freely in the air.
He basically directed the mana towards all three passages in order to check which would be the best course to take.
The left most passage had a dead end and thus he concluded that it was the wrong passage.
He then sensed that the right most passage also had a similar dead end and thus he decided to walk down the middle path.
'Weird... why are there dead ends? Is it to delay as much as possible?', Jay thought.
"Sigh...", he thought about using the skill Accel and rush to the end as soon as possible but he wasn't aware of the dangers in ahead.
'Tap Tap Tap'
He kept walking but as he moved forward it started to get darker.
There were no torches here and Jay had no idea about the reason for not installing the torch.

'Hmm... maybe...', he was thinking something when all of a sudden he ended up shouting.
"ACCEL!"
'DING'

'ZWWOOPPP'
'BAM'
He didn't have any time to read the message and just vanished from the place and re- appeared a bit towards the right side.
"T-that was...", he was completely baffled.
He had just escaped a death like situation just barely.
It seemed as if something crashed at the place where he was standing earlier and thanks to his instincts he was able to use Accel and dodge before it was too late.
"J-just What was that?", he spread his mana again but it wasn't efficient as he wasn't able to feel properly.
His vision was also blocked as there was no light but he didn't allow that to become an hindrance.
Suddenly his eyes started to glow with dim green light.
'DING'

==========
He did t other about reading the message again because he already knew what it would be stating.
He just had to use the Skills right now and each and every second was important because any normal threat couldn't possibly make him flinch.
He turned his gazes here and there but found nothing.
He looked at the place where he was standing earlier and found a huge crater formed.
"Oh my God... that...", it seemed as if something powerful or heavy was used to form the huge crater.
There were a lot of cracked that were emerging out from it and it didn't seem the work of any rocks that might have feel from the top.
'Weird... too weird...', he was confused when suddenly he got a clue of what might have happened.
'Stealth!? Is the enemy using stealth?', he asked himself.
"Then I...", he was about to say something when all of a sudden he had to use Accel again.
'Accel!!!'
He vanished from the position yet again and immediately after that another loud sound was heard.
'BAM'
He immediately turned his gazes towards the place only to find another crater formed and nothing else.
"What the fuck!? Just what the heck is going on?", he seemed quite annoyed because he was feeling helpless for a moment.
It was as if someone was literally playing a prank on him.
"You can't be serious! Is this some joke?", he said loudly but there was no response:
He sounded like an idiot who was literally talking to the walls. But then again what choice else did he have when he couldn't even see the enemy.
'Is he using stealth?', he thought about it again but gave up on the idea because if Stealth was used then the sound movements would be heard at least.
But there was absolute solve here. It was as if Jay had entered into a sound proof room due to which nothing was heard.
Jay turned his head towards his right and confirmed that nothing was wrong on that side. He then turned towards left and confirmed the same.
Even his back and front were safe and in the ground there was nothing so the only possibility that was left was the ceiling.
"There possibly can't be anything on the ceiling...", was what he initially thought but after taking a look at the ceiling, he paused all of a sudden.
"Accel!!!", he used Accel yet again and moved away from the position immediately after which the sound was heard.
'BAM'
Another huge crater was formed.
"Oh my god!!! How the fuck could I have allowed them to get so close to me!?", he asked himself.
"One... two... three...", he started counting while looking at the beast that were right above him.
All of them had shicked themselves into the walls of the ceiling just like some spider or lizard.
"Accel!"
'BAM'
"Accel"
'BAM'
That was the only thing heard again and again for while.
"Fucking hell!! A total of 18 monsters came close to me?"
"..."
"Was I Day dreaming or what!!!?", he was basically scolding himself and was face slapping himself in his mind due to his incompetence.
He stared at them intensely as he had nothing else to do since he had just finished counting them. He was now preparing himself in order to kill all of them and was just looking at them when a system notification popped up.
