The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 68

"You again? You had vanished suddenly I couldn't..."
The girl who just vanished appeared again.
"Hehe~ just wanted to say that I have taken care of the bullies who disturbed your peace~ no need to worry about them... Just focus on you Path...", and just after saying this she vanished in the blink of an eye.
"..."
"She vanished again!!?"
Jay was shocked after seeing the girl's mood swings but more than that he wondered as to how the girl just appeared and vanished out of no where.
He couldn't find the answer to this no matter how hard he thought so he decided to let it go and think about it later.
Then he began to do what he intended to and started walking towards the path that he had chosen since he was now calm and relaxed as she had mentioned that she had taken care of the bullies. So there was nothing to worry about anymore.
But he wanted to see his mom and that was precisely why he chose to go to the right side which led him towards his home which he rephrased as - 'MY CHOICE' earlier.
He walked down the path and soon reached the large area where it was heavily populated and filled with people. It was their departure time so it was expected to be so busy.
It was too suffocating for him to be among them but he didn't have any other choice either. He walked towards his home slowly and steadily and finally reached the apartment.
He climbed through the stairs while using the skill [DASH] instead of using the elevator and reached the room where is mother stayed. He was standing outside for a few minutes and then rang the door bell.
'DING DONG'
"Coming..."
He heard a voice from inside which was same as before. But there was a small difference. When earlier he had visited the voice was a bit low and it seemed to have fear in it due to which it was trembling but right now the voice didn't give any such feeling.
It was just a normal shout. He waited for some seconds when the door was opened.
"Who—"
She looked outside after opening the window only to find that Hay was standing with some package in his hand.
"Jewel!!!", she hugged him as she called him out.

Jay too hugged her and both were in the same position for a few minutes. Then she invited Jay inside and asked him to sit for sometime.
She started asking questions about the campus and the college and other things about his daily care and nutrition.
He kept on answering everything with a smile while seeing his mother smile at the same time too. It wasn't any acting, it was easily felt that she really was happy as if a great burden was removed from her shoulders.
Unable to control is curiosity he asked, "Mom, ha anything good happened recently? You seem to be in good mood."
Her mother paused for a bit and then smiled.
"Haha, don't try to act innocent Jewel!"
She was continuously smiling while looking at him as if he was the cause of this happiness.
"Eh? Mom... what do you mean?"
"Haha, it was because of you that I am happy... you silly head!!"
She burst into laughter since she was thinking that Jay was just pretending to not know but it was the truth that Jay didn't know the cause of her smile.
"..."
"Mom, can you please tell me. Is it because I entered the college or something?"
His mom paused for a bit and nodded her head.
"It's partially because of that..."
"Eh? Partially? Then what's the real cause?"
She smiled and said, "Your friend had just come and gave some money to me. On top of that she ensured that no one will bully us again! Haha!"
"..."
Now Jay was forced to think about which friend was she talking about. He definitely didn't know any friend who would go out of their way to help his family and if he did knew they would have helped earlier.
"What was his appearance like mom?"
"Well, it was a girl with blonde hairs..."
Jay was suddenly shocked. He immediately said, "It was a blonde girl who was wearing sun glasses and had violet top and blue-black jeans?"
"Pffftt! See I knew it, she indeed was your friend!"
"..."
'I thought she only helped in dealing with bullies but ensuring this way?' is what he thought.
He definitely didn't think of her as a friend since he wasn't even aware of her name neither of her origin. He absolutely knew nothing about her but for some reason she kept on helping him.

"Uhh!! Leave it! I'm happy that you are smiling mom..."
"Haha, of course baby... don't worry about it..."
Both of them chatted for a while. Then Jay decided to leave as it was getting late and it was necessary for him to return to the campus as there would be checking going on.
His mother insisted for him to have dinner and leave but he couldn't accept the gratitude since he had to go urgently.
His mom understood it and let him go and bid him farewell.
"Come soon next time!!"
"Yes mom!"
After saying this he vanished and immediately rushed towards his campus when suddenly a Portal appeared in front of him.
"Huh!!?"
He couldn't stop immediately since he was using dash so even after deactivating the skill he was forced to go straight into the Portal.
"What the fuck? How did this damn thing appear here??"
"Ahhhhh"
He shouted as he was pulled inside the Portal.

MEANWHILE...
"It is weird don't you think?"
Dun Young asked Res an odd question.
Res didn't understand what he meant so he asked, "Weird? About what?"
Young immediately said, "It's Weird about how all the power hunters have been vanished these days..."
"Hmm... you are right..."
Dun Young nodded his head and continued, "It's not only about old and experienced powerful hunter... it's also about the new growing stars..."
Rex immediately said to Young something which shocked him completely.
"Maybe I know what is happening..."
"Whaaatt!!?", Dun screamed the moment he heard this.
"You mean to say that you know the reason very well but never tried to stop it?"
Dun was furious because he thought that Res didn't value human lives much. This was what he concluded by hearing him see Res calm even when such a misfit was occurring.
"Res... don't you understand the gravity of the situation? Hunters are being vanished which would decrease our power when we have to fight in the upcoming years!!"
Res smirked and said, "Of course I know that..."
"Then what the fuck are you waiting for? Tell the cause of this and inform the hunter association! We need to—"
Res intruded in between and said, "It's all for the sake of humanity..."
"Huh? Sake of humanity? What do you..."
Res smirked and said with an assuring tone, "Don't worry, this was decided by the hunter association."
"Wait wait... you mean to say all those hunters disappearing are due to something that the Hunters Association are doing?"
"Yep!"
"Then why are they spreading it in news?"
Res shook his head and said, "Its the press that is making and spreading the news, not the association."
"..."
"So what exactly is going on?"
"Oh well, they have just asked me to open portals at different places which would transport the hunters and gather them at one common place where they will have to clear a dungeon together..."
Dun Young was baffled. He just heard something which made chills run down his spine.
He asked, "If so many powerful hunters and newbies are being gathered at one place then does that mean..."
He couldn't continue further because of his nervousness which made his through dry. He couldn't believe the possibility of this happening.
"Is it really a..."
"Sigh man, complete the sentence will you?"
"No... I mean..."
Res was enjoying Dun see nervous and frightened since Dun himself was not too old so those expressions and emotions were clearly seen on his face. It didn't matter how good an actor he was, it was inevitable to hide his expression in front of someone who was superior to him.
"If you aren't able to say, then let me tell out to you..."
Dun Young gulped a huge amount of saliva and awaited Res to speak.
"We have gathered all the hunters whose powers are estimated to be B rank or above..."
Dun was just staring at Res whole he was saying all this.
"We don't know who exactly were chosen but the portals were put at specific places, and if only the hunter was strong enough as that if B rank, he would be sucked into the Portal..."
"Oh..."
"They all have been gathered near the entrance of a dungeon which is believed to be..."
"Believed to be?"
"Haha, it's believed that it is an S-Rank dungeon which has 2 BOSSES!"
"..."

Only Villains Do That

This is not his story. Standing nearby at the moment Yoshi was isekai'd was a man named Seiji - a rude, cranky, misanthropic musician who was not at all pleased to find himself also snatched up and transported to Ephemera by the goddess's wicked sister, Virya. According to this self-proclaimed Goddess of Evil, the whole fantasy adventure thing was a game she and her sister played to stave off the boredom of immortality, and since the good goddess, Sanora, had picked her Hero...well, Virya needed a Dark Lord. A grown man with his own career and ambitions, Seiji has no interest in playing. Unfortunately for him, the call to adventure was not a request. Now, he must conquer Ephemera and defeat the Hero...or Virya promises to make him beg for the release of death before granting it. Playing along for his own survival, Seiji nonetheless is under no illusions who his true enemy is, and it's not the naive young would-be Hero from his own world. Forced to embrace Evil without being too evil, Seiji walks the razor's edge, building his forces and biding his time till he can get revenge on the goddesses and be free of them, his only certainty that he will not be getting out of this with his hands clean.
