Long ago, there was nothing. It was completely empty. Human weren't happy, their hearts were empty and almost like that of a dead. Then suddenly two entities appeared, Light and Dark. No one knew how they appeared or what they were exactly, it just happened.
Then soon the humans began to feel the warmth thanks to the light, and were able to rest peacefully and sleep due to the dark.
However, that was only for a few centuries. Soon, the humans started to fear the dark and treated it as its enemy.
The light and dark were completely opposite and hence the light was happy to help out the humans to erase the dark and its darkness.
Thus soon began the war between the dark and humanity along with the light.
However not all humans aided the light. Some were the direct descendents of dark who stayed with the dark while others left and joined the light.
The power of darkness and light comes from the hope and more number of people who worship them. Since the number of people worshipping light were far greater than that of the worshippers of dark, the darkness began to end.
This created imbalance in the world and thanks to that the gate for other worldly creatures were opened to balance out this. Hence more number of evil creatures came out of the gates and portals including dungeons. This tarnished the name of the dark even more.
The dark then soon detested all humanity except the few chosen ones and it has been passing its massive supreme powers to them during each generation.

"And now it's your turn Jay. You are the successor of this massive dark power that is stored here. It has been waiting for you since for 12 years."

As the voice stopped saying, Jay's body trembled in hearing the truth. Everyone thought that the power of dark was evil, but the truth was that it was just necessary. The ones who used the power were evil.
"Now that I think about it, it surely makes sense. I mean most of the people I met were greedy, bullies filled with a lot of selfishness. It is correct to say that the power of darkness is not bad in fact the users are bad."
The eyes that were glancing at Jay in the void suddenly disappeared. However before disappearing there were signs indicating that the eyes were teary as it would be just before crying.
Jay panicked as he had thought that he angered the DARKNESS.
"I... I'm sor..."
he was about to apologise when suddenly he heard the voice again.
"Haha, it was indeed a right choic to select you as the heir... what was that saying again? Like father like son? Awesome... you aren't a mere human anymore in my eyes... I am granting you the title... from now on you are THE KING OF DARKNESS!"
"Eh...? Wait what!!!!? Just like that...?"
Jay was shocked with this sudden announcement.
He was completely outspoken and gained the title much earlier than he had expected.
But for some reason he was gloomy and again thinking deeply.
"What's the matter my child? Aren't you happy?"
"Indeed I am happy... but why did you say 'Like Father Like Son'?"
"..."
"Haha, did I forget to mention? Uo father was the previous KING OF DARKNESS and now you have inherited the very same power."
"Whaaaatttt!!!? My father was what!? Then... do you know where is he? Is he really dead!?"
"..."
"Please tell me... is he... dead!?"
"..."
"The time is not right my child. You will come to know the truth when you are ready to bear the responsibility... for now you must return"
"Ha? No wait... don't send me yet... NOOOOO!!!"
