The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 19

"Take care of your health and try to not come anytime soon again!"
Dr. Chu, a kind and caring doctor, he always took care and treated Jay Down whenever he would come to hospital.
I'm Jay's case, Dr. Chu would always give him advises as Jay used to visit the hospital almost after every raid.
He would either get hurt in his knees or sometimes his shoulder bones might have been dislocated.
Jay was happy since Dr. Chu never looked down on Jee Seon. Also he was like a family member.
"Okay Chu uncle, I'll try to protect myself in a better way."
Jay starts walking slowly out of the hospital. He had for now decided to go to his rented place and take some more rest and then do some investigations on the system that he had.
"Taxi..." (Jee Seon)
Jay lifts his hand with a thumbs up position and calls out to taxies and one of the taxy driver responds to his call.
"Yes sir? Where do you want to go?" (Taxi Driver)
"Umm... take me to the Shurow Apartments"
With a bit of hesitation Jay replies since he was still thinking about the system.
"Okay sir, but we have another passenger so you have to adjust sir."
The driver's words were trembling for some reason and Jay noticed that.
"Uh... Okay, I'll sit in the front seat."
The driver shook his head and opened the door immediately.
And Jay entered the car and sat calmly in the seat.
The driver started driving without wasting anymore time.
Jay had opened the window and was looking at the view outside when suddenly he felt something weird.
He slowly turned his gaze towards the driver and found that the driver was sweating at a tremendous rate.

Even the aura inside the car was a bit different. Also he was able to feel the killing intent coming from the back seat.
He was curious and wanted to know about this aura and the intent that was freely blending in the air.
He started to slowly turn his head in order to look behind when suddenly the car driver grabbed his hand.
In a slow and dull voice he uttered, "Don't look back."
"Huh...? What is he trying to say?" *thinking*
Even though he was curious, he controlled himself and sat again comfortably.
But each and every second it was as if his life was in danger. He wanted to confirm this feeling that was making him feel as an insect.
So he just took a look in the back mirror.
"Wh-what the fu*k? No one is behind then why did you say that there was another passenger?"
By saying this he suddenly turned his neck to see at the back seat.
And the moment he did the driver screamed, "No!!! Why did you do that?"
Jay was shocked and took in by Confusion.
"A... a portal?"
There was a portal at the back seat of the car. The portal was clearly looking to be dangerous.
"Why? Why did you look behind? He... he said to just drive and not turn back... he... he will kill all!!!"
By saying this the car driver stopped the car and was trying to get out when suddenly he got pulled into the portal.
"Hey, are you alright?"
Jay extended his hand to catch the man but he himself got pulled by portal too.

8 628The Last Science [SE]
[SE has the same content as the original story, split into smaller chunks for easier reading. This story is on a temporary hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I work in healthcare and unfortunately no longer have the freetime to continue posting on a regular basis. As soon as our workload decreases, I will return. Thanks for reading! 💙] No one ever knows the whole story. Deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the fading town of Rallsburg stumbles upon an amazing discovery—magic itself. Faced with potentially world-shattering power, the people of Rallsburg keep the secret for themselves. Led by Rachel DuValle, a perpetually underestimated college student with grand ambitions, they seek to found a new society. The world beyond suspects nothing, but magic cannot stay hidden forever. A train arrives in Rallsburg carrying Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate. To him, magic could represent meaning for his life, an explanation for his empty existence. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever—or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series, focused on the modern world with a twist. New societies bud and grow, but the people who make them up are imperfect and flawed. The story includes elements of mystery, action, crime, interpersonal drama, relationships, philosophy, sociology, politics, and much more, all centered on the perspective characters driving the tale. This is the "Scraps Edition" of the story, where the chapters have been split up into bite-size chunks (roughly 1500-3000 words), for your convenience. The prose has been edited from its original form, with some improvements, but there are no content differences from the original. New chapters will be posted throughout each week starting on Friday and appearing on multiple days thereafter, depending on the length of the chapter. Content Warning (by request): This series delves into some topics and situations which may be upsetting for some readers. In American rating parlance, the narrative would be rated PG-13 (except for language), but some have noted the story can get pretty dark on occasion. 8 122Golden Age
In the latter half of the 21st century fully immersive virtual reality has finally become mainstream; a brand new game company called Aurum Productions promises to bring about the most realistic fantasy MMORPG ever created with their flagship title, Golden Age. A new player who goes by the name, D0n, loads into the world of virtual reality for the first time in his life thanks to these promises. But what catches his attention isn’t the wild monsters, the in-depth quest lines, or the ability to perform superhuman feats — what draws D0n at first is a bit more… mundane. Sure he’ll put in the time to level up his character… just as soon as he can finish applying the last layer of paint on his new coffee table… and after he lands that triple backflip he’s been trying to do all day… not to mention the lady next door was talking about a new horned rabbit stew recipe she was working on… Sure a world of swords and magic in virtual reality means a whole slew of fantastical experiences you can’t get anywhere else, but it’s not like those are going anywhere. And virtual or not, D0n is determined to live out his reality with a pace and vision that suits him best. It’s just a shame that his habit of a personalized play style has some far reaching consequences even Golden Age’s dev team could have never predicted. New Chapters uploaded every Wednesday.
