The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 3

"Eh? Who...?"
Jay looked turned his head right and then left. He tried to look for the sudden voice that he heard but he couldn't find anything.
"Weird... I can swear that I heard something..."
Without thinking much he suddenly ran towards the huge gate that stood before him.
The same as others, he entered the gate to seeks treasures and fame.
He even disregarded the warning that he had just received. He just kept on running until he had entered the gate.
As soon as he entered, the gate suddenly closed with a loud sound.
'DUM'
Jay turned back and looked at the closed door.
"What the...? Why did it close?"
All other hunters also turned back and glanced at the huge door which was now closed.
They all had one question in their mind - "Why did the door close suddenly?"
While they were thinking this, a sudden noise made them wary.
"Kekeke kekeke..."
It was as if someone was laughing at the hunters. In fact it felt as if this laughter had some weird power which was sucking out the energy of the hunters.
The hunters who had entered were not just mere humans or noobs, they too had faced hardships and had plenty of experience.
They could easily say that they were all baited here. They immediately understood that this was a trap!
"What the f*ck! This is..."
"No... I don't want to die here..."
"This is weird..."
There were all voices mixed and all the hunters were now trembling as all they could see was darkness.
It was completely dark and they couldn't even see each other due to that.
"No way... how... how is this possible?"
Jay suddenly smiled in a weird manner as he thought this. He was completely shocked and puzzled.

"How can a dream... become reality?"
He continued to smirk.
"It's same as the dream that I had 4 days ago... everything... it is all same!"
He now realized that why he felt the gate to be familiar. It was because he had already seen the gate in his dreams.
"Kekeke kekeke" *evil laughter*
"BOW!"
And as soon as the hunters heard the word 'BOW', they all suddenly kneeled. It was as if the pressure above them had increased tremendously.
All of them were bowing and trembling at the same time.
"Dammit... how dare you make me bow..." Kim shouted while he was trying to move against the pressure.
Kim was trying to resist the pressure. He was clenching his fists and trying to get up. But the pressure was huge. And because he was acting against that pressure, some of his bones cracked.
"Aaagghhhh...!!!!"
Everyone could hear his voice loud and clear. In fact after hearing his voice, everyone was engulfed with fear.
They understood that it was futile to resist against the pressure and hence stopped trying.
"I... I don't wanna die... *sob sob* I want to see brother again..."
Mia Eyle, a C-Rank Hunter, is just 17 years old and is kind and hard worker.
She didn't want to be an hunter but was forced to since she had to help her brother as they were from a poor background. She wasn't good at other jobs either and hence the only option left to her was hunting!
Mia Eyle has a special ability called Gravity Control! That power can be used to either increase the pressure (gravity) or decrease it.
So she used it on herself and the pressure did decrease but it was still of no use. All she could do is turn her head now thanks to her ability.
And due to that she turned her head to only find that all were bowing and trembling except one man.
"J-Jay Down?"

Dream Theater
Long casted shadows danced in the background, as a man squibbled and jotted words on yellow papers. A mere novelty, remnant and ghost that was left to age away along with the forgotten theater, a man grasped for inspiration to salvage what was left of his soul. Abandoned in the squalid room, Pxan was left hauntedly in the furthest corners of insanity that bubbled in his mind. No one would listen to his plight, denouncing him and claiming his mind was not right. Even though the world left him with nothing, turning their backs to him, he knew the books would never betray him in the same fashion. Faceless pages and books yet to be read ogled puppy eyes, ready to be penned by the madman. “Pxan! Pxan! Over here! To me!” Clamored the unpublished manuscripts. Pxan’s fingers quivered nervously, thoughts of failure flooded his mind. Wanting to surrender to the pressure. “No!” He cried. “I’ve had enough of writing.” Books with eyes all stared at him, begging for the tales to be written. Their pleaful eyes were all that Pxan needed to be moved to writing again. The man sighed and raised his pen again, stroking the first letters of inspiration that bore fruit from his mind. A maddening tale of a policeman, cultists and a violent revenge… -Currently on Hiatus while writing the second volume. The first volume is up. I will take a few days to rewrite a few chapters. Obstinate Han
A power progression fantasy with a main character who trains constantly but who lacks purpose, direction, and motivation. The world he lives in, however, is not a peaceful one. As obstinate as Han can be, with all of humanity edging slowly towards annihilation, will he truly be able to avoid becoming entangled in the affairs of the deities fighting over his new universe? This story is a slow burn rather than a fast paced action/adventure, and is centered around the perspective of a main character who struggles with depression, apathy, anhedonia, and asociality. This world was doomed well before he arrived, and he knows it. Rather than following the traditional hero model, he just wants to train for its own sake, and to scrape out occasional moments of happiness in a ruined and dying world.
