Dragon Prince Yuan Chapter 692

It was chaos in the centre of Distant Saint City.
At this moment countless complicated gazes were on Zhou Yuan, who was standing in mid air, when Wu Huang’s Spirit was destroyed, the outcome of the battle between the two most powerful experts of the Alpha Origin stage was also determined.
Zhou Yuan could now be called the true first Chosen of the Shengzhou continent.
Outside the city, the disciples of the Cangxuan Sect broke into thunderous cheers. The gazes that was directed towards Zhou Yuan also became increasingly bright. The battle today had tremendously increased the Cangxuan Sect’s face.
And compared with the wild cheers on the Cangxuan Sect’s side, the disciples of the Sacred Palace were utterly silent.
Even Jiang Taishen and Zhan Taiqing looked extremely unnatural. As they peered at Zhou Yuan’s figure, there was an intense look of fear emerging in their eyes.
Even right now, they still found it hard to believe the scene that had happened.
It should be said that Zhou Yuan did not dare to fight them directly in the Mythic Utopia, so he chose to go against Jin Chanzi who was slightly weaker.
And even if Zhou Yuan killed Jin Chanzi in the end, Jiang Taishen and Zhan Taiqing simply saw him as someone who they could face directly. It still wasn’t enough to make them feel afraid.
Who would have thought that, in less than two months, Zhou Yuan could become that strong?
Jiang Taishen had battled Wu Huang before, so he was knew about his strength. But even so, Wu Huang, after playing all his trump cards, was still killed by Zhou Yuan. In the end, even his spirit also failed to escape.
What did that mean? It meant that if they were to face Zhou Yuan, they would have died much faster.
The man who they did not attach importance to in the Mythic Utopia had now far surpassed them.
Jiang Taishen and Zhan Taiqing exchanged a glance, noticing the bitter feelings in each other's eyes. Since the Cangxuan Sect had such a strong person like Zhou Yuan, it could be imagined that their Sacred Palace would be suppressed by them in the future.
“It's retribution.” Jiang Taishen sighed. Before Zhou Yuan and Wu Huang had appeared, he was the strongest amongst the young generation of the Cangxuan Heaven, and had suppressed the Cangxuan Sect for many years to the point that the disciples of the Cangxuan Sect couldn’t even lift their heads up.

From this moment on, the Sacred Palace had lost their prestige. In the future it would be Zhou Yuan suppressing the young generation of the Sacred Palace.
On the other side of the city wall, Zuoqiu Qingyu, Luluo, Li Chunjun and others were still staring dumbfounded at the scene. It was only after a good while that they snapped out of their shock.
The battle between Zhou Yuan and Wu Huang was unlike a match between experts of the Alpha Origin stage.
Fortunately, it was Zhou Yuan who won in the end.
“He got stronger again.” Ning Zhan sighed. Zhou Yuan was many times stronger than he was back then in the Mythic Utopia. It was really unknown just how this person cultivated that he could become this strong,
The others nodded in agreement.
“But, although we have defeated Wu Huang, is Zhou Yuan really going back to the Cangmang Continent?”
Zuoqiu Qingyu raised her brows, “According to the information I received, the Cangxuan Sect and Sacred Palace have the rule that anybody at the Divine Dwelling stage and above can’t intervene.”
“Zhou Yuan is now standing at the peak of the Alpha Origin stage, and hasn’t stepped into the Divine Dwelling stage. The present him is most likely no match for King Wu.”
The others also went silent. Although Zhou Yuan’s strength was astonishing, there was a tremendous gap between the Alpha Origin stage and the Divine Dwelling stage. Even the worst Divine Dwelling stage would possess no less than 500,000 Genesis Qi stars.
Such a powerful Genesis Qi foundation was enough to destroy any method Zhou Yuan had.
“He has to go back, the Great Wu specially chose this time to attack the Great Zhou. The Great Zhou most likely can’t withstand such an onsalught. If he doesn’t go back then the Great Zhou will be destroyed.” Li Chunjun explained.
Luluo pursed her lips, “I sent a letter back to the Thousand Beast Empire to ask Father to help, but he said that the conflict between the Great Zhou and Great Wu isn’t that simple. It is now a contest between the Cangxuan Sect and the Sacred Palace, and others simply don’t dare to intervene.”
The others exchanged glances with one another, sighing deeply. Only Zhou Yuan could solve this, and so he must go back.

Above the city, Zhou Yuan’s slightly closed eyes were gradually opening. The Taiyi Green Wood Mark emitted a life force that rapidly healed his injuries.
Feeling the gradual fusion of the two Sacred Dragon Qi, his eyes flashed.
A moment later, Zhou Yuan lifted his head. The two mighty forces in the void continued to collide for a while, causing the heaven and earth to tremble, but both Palace Master Sheng Yuan and Sect Master Qing Yang evidently did not intend to truly fight. In the end, they both retreated.
“Your Cangxuan Sect cultivated a good disciple, but unfortunately that disciple won’t last long. Soon, he will follow Wu Huang’s path.” The voice of Palace Master Sheng Yuan echoed throughout heaven and earth.
“It’s unfortunate that a good seedling, which rarely appears in Cangxuan Sect, won’t last for much longer.”
“Haha.”
The laughter of Palace Master Sheng Yuan gradually faded away, and the mighty power that hovered in the air also escaped into the void.
The people who knew the reason shifted their gazes onto Zhou Yuan, some of them filled with regret. The seedling was indeed very good, and if he could continue to cultivate in the Cangxuan Sect, then the Cangxuan sect may perhaps gain a top expert of the Heavenly Sun stage or even the Nascent Source stage.
But if he were to go to the Cangmang Continent to fight against an expert of the Divine Dwelling stage, then it did not bode well for him.
Zhou Yuan seemed to not notice those gazes. His expression was calm, without the slightest ripple of emotion.
“If you can bear it, you don’t have to go back. The Cangxuan Sect can find a way to protect your father and mother.” A voice drilled into Zhou Yuan's ear, which Zhou Yuan could distinguish it to be Sect Master Qing Yang’s.
Zhou Yuan was silent for a moment. Sect Master Qing Yang only said he would protect his father and mother, and not the Great Zhou. In doing so, the Great Zhou would become a sacrifice.
Hu.
Zhou Yuan took a deep breath, but his expression gradually became determined.
“Thank you Sect Master, but this is a responsibility that I can’t escape from. If I retreat today, the drive in my heart will also disappear. This will be fatal to my future cultivation.”
“At that time, I’ll just be the same as everybody else.”
“I’m not content with being mediocre. This is a battle of beliefs. Only when I face the edge of the blade can I take a huge step forward on the future path.”
Zhou Yuan whispered to himself. Over the years, he had faced a lot of difficulties, but he gritted his teeth and persevered every time. This was precisely because of the belief that supported him. But if he chose to give in, then, some time in the future, he most likely would lose the confidence to persist.
Sect Master Qing Yang naturally heard his quiet voice. Half a second later a voice sounded again, “Since you have made up your mind, then go.”
In his voice, there was relief. Compared to Zhou Yuan's talent, Sect Master Qing Yang valued his mentality even more.
Zhou Yuan nodded, solemnly bowed to the void then turned around to face Chu Qing, Li Qingchan and many other disciples of the Cangxuan Sect, and bowed once again.
“Zhou Yuan wants to thank all the senior and junior brothers and sisters who protected me along the way!”
Chu Qing had a complicated expression on his face. Li Qingchang’s beautiful eyes fell on the youngster in the distance, and said quietly, “Zhou Yuan, when you return, the disciples of the Cangxuan Sect will drink till we are drunk to celebrate.”
The next moment, a deafening sound rang out from Distant Saint City.
“The disciples of the Cangxuan Sect wishes that senior brother will return victorious!”
The noise shook the city, but also attracted countless complex gazes.
Zhou Yuan felt a warmth in his heart as he looked at them. He then smiled and with a wave of his hand, turned around without hesitation. He vanished in a flash and reappeared in the tremendous transfer point in the centre of the city.
Buzz!
There was a bright pillar of light that swallowed Zhou Yuan's figure.
When the figure of Zhou Yuan disappeared, the roar of the disciples of the Cangxuan Sect continued to ring over Distant Saint City.
“Senior brother Zhou Yuan, we all look forward to your triumphant return!”

Among other things, a story about growth, grit, and being better than the person you were yesterday. Here's my rambling on why I'm writing Journey West 5000. Journey West 5000 is my crazy ambitious writing project to adapt a classic epic called "Journey to the West" for a global, modern audience. It's a sci-fi story disguised as fantasy, and has some road trip + monster of the week elements (as does the original Journey to the West). No system, definitely no harem, gradual power progression. Hmm, what else can I put here so potential readers know what to expect? My writing style for now is mostly "show don't tell", because I believe that readers don't need to have everything pointed out to them, and that they should be allowed to make up their own minds about characters based on the actions of those characters. I'm also trying to be less long-winded (a weakness pointed out by some friends) in order to write according to something Neil Gaiman said, which is to write as though I'm the one who has to pay for every word, not the reader. This will bring down my chapter word counts, and might drive away potential readers, but I believe there's value in learning to compress and be concise. All chapters posted here will have been edited. Constructive criticism, comments, and feedback would be very much welcome and appreciated. Please, please help point out any typos or grammatical mistakes, I'm striving to minimize those as much as possible. Above all, I hope you enjoy my story.
