Chapter 2121: Angered Si Kongyan
Si Kongyan’s voice rang and resonated everywhere.
However, the surroundings were still quiet and one could hear a pin drop in the Green Bronze Pagoda.
“Is he not here?” Si Kongyan frowned slightly. It was not easy for him to come here. It would be troublesome if he were not around.
Just as Si Kongyan was troubling over this, a low voice suddenly sounded.
“What is it?”
The voice was old and rich, as if it was incompatible with the world. It was Elder Tian Ji.
Si Kongyan was elated to hear this. He immediately said in a clear voice, “Senior, I have heard that you are able to foresee inexplicable secrets of the world. Please help me track someone!”
“Come to the third floor!” Elder Tian Ji’s voice rang once again.
Si Kongyan nodded. Immediately after he strode into the Green Bronze Pagoda.
The pagoda was extremely spacious. There were tower walls that were full of complicated patterns of array lines. Si Kongyan did not stop as he followed. He stooped inside it and went to the third floor.
In the third floor, Si Kongyan saw Elder Tian Ji, who had a head full of white hair and was weighed down with age.
Elder Tian Ji was sitting on the futon, his eyes drooping, and he was not moving.
“Hello Senior!” Si Kongyan bowed as he came before Elder Tian Ji.
“Who do you want to track? Tell me the details!” Elder Tian Ji slowly opened his eyes. His bleary-eyes were full of exhaustion.
“This person is called Di Lanxi, his original name is Gu Lanxi. He is from Firmament World and is…!”
Si Kongyan described Xi’er to Elder Tian Ji. He was quite familiar with the situation Xi’er was in.
Elder Tian Ji nodded as he said in a low voice, “Alright, however, you have to pay a price of 30% of Blood Essence. If there is no answer derived after giving this amount of Blood Essence, you will have to go to a higher level and pay even more Blood Essence.”
“Understood!” Si Kongyan nodded. Before he had come there, he had already inquired and knew about the strange request of Elder Tian Ji.

Immediately after, Si Kongyan vomited, forcing out Blood Essence as he placed both his hands before Elder Tian Ji.
The loss of 30% Blood Essence had a huge impact on Si Kongyan as his face turned pale.
Elder Tian Ji nodded as he put away the Blood Essence. He took out his compass in his hands and began calculating with the fast choices of the compass.
Countless runes flew from the pagoda walls and interweaved with the lines on the compass in his hands.
After a while, the compass slowly came to a stop.
“How is it, Senior? Is the result out?” Si Kongyan asked hurriedly upon seeing this.
He was somewhat anxious. Su Mo has tasked him with this mission and he had to find out about the outcome. Otherwise he would not be able to give an answer to Su Mo when he returned.
Furthermore, he was on good terms with Xi’er. He also wanted to know where exactly Xi’er was and whether he was in danger.
“Nope!” Elder Tian Ji shook his head.
“Ah?”
Disappointment appeared on Si Kongyan’s face as he immediately asked, hurriedly, “On which level can we find out the result?”
“The fifth!” Elder Tian Ji immediately said.
“OK, let’s go there!” Si Kongyan said.
“Yes!” Elder Tian Ji nodded as he immediately disappeared without a trace. This strange and unpredictable speed somewhat shocked Su Mo.
However, Si Kongyan did not think much about it as he continued to walk up the Pagoda and soon reached the fifth level.
After paying up another 20% of his Blood Essence to Elder Tian Ji, the latter began calculating again.
Many runes flew from the pagoda walls again and gathered in the compass. The fast-moving compass with numerous lines wandered and blended with the runes.
Time passed by and Si Kongyan’s heart was in his mouth. He had spent 50% of his Blood Essence and his face was as pale as sheet. He could not spend any more Blood Essence.
As such, he had to derive an outcome this time.
However, he was disappointed as Elder Tian Ji slightly shook his head after a while.
“Senior, is there still no outcome?” Si Kongyan’s heart dropped.

“No, you have to go to the top level!” Elder Tian Ji said expressionlessly.
“What? To the top?”
Si Kongyan’s face instantly changed slightly upon hearing this as he frowned. “How much Blood Essence do I have to pay?”
“40% more!” Elder Tian Ji said coldly.
“40%?” Si Kongyan’s faced changed instantly upon hearing this. He had already spent 50% of his Blood Essence. He would be done for if he had to spend another 40%.
Once 90% of Blood Essence had been consumed, his power would regress greatly and his cultivation would fall. It would be unable to increase any more.
In other words, once he consumed 90% Blood Essence, his Martial Road progress would completely go down the drain.
After all, Blood Essence was no ordinary Blood Force. It was refined from Essence and contained vitality.
A massive loss of Blood Essence would deplete him of his vitality and this was not plausible.
For a period of time, Si Kongyan’s face changed constantly and he was completely aghast.
“Do we have to go to the ninth floor?” Elder Tian Ji’s looked at Si Kongyan with bleary eyes and said coldly.
Si Kongyan remained silent. Although Xi’er was important, he could not sacrifice himself.
He could not accept this. Su Mo would have definitely not agreed to this if he were here.
Furthermore, would there definitely be an answer even if he went to the ninth floor?
“Elder, legend says that you can predict everything. Yet, now you cannot even find a person. Is this legend untrue? Or are you deliberately extorting me?” Si Kongyan asked with a sullen face. He could not understand the old man, however, the latter gave him a very strange feeling.
“If you do not want to go to the ninth floor, leave!” Elder Tian Ji’s face was unchanged as he said coldly.
“Leave?” Si Kongyan instantly scoffed when he heard this. “You have 50% of my Blood Essence and you want to end it like that?”
“What do you want?” Elder Tian Ji asked chilly.
“Return to me 50% of my blood. If you won’t, then find out where Di Lan Xi is!” Si Kongyan said in a low voice. He was boiling with anger. This old man had 50% of his Blood Essence yet had not come up with an answer. He was simply an ingrate.
Si Kongyan could not tolerate this and he was not a good-tempered person.
“Leave!” Elder Tian Ji’s face was cold as he waved his sleeves and Si Kongyan instantly felt the world spinning around him.
In the next moment, Si Kongyan found out that he had actually left the Green Bronze Pagoda and was outside of it.
“Damn!”
Seeing this, Si Kongyan turned pale and completely lost it. He could not control the anger in his heart.
He had wasted 50% of his Blood Essence for nothing and he had never suffered such a loss.
“Old jerk, give me back my Blood Essence or I will destroy your pagoda!”
Si Kongyan rose to the sky, hovering ten thousand feet in the air and shouted as his voice reverberated through tens of thousands of mils.
He was not willing to take this lying down. Elder Tian Ji might be powerful, but Si Kongyan was unafraid.
However, it was quiet in the Green Bronze Pagoda and there simply was no sound coming from the inside.
“Damn!”
Elder Tian Ji had ignored him and this had made Si Kongyan instantly angry. The fire flashed in his hands as a big red Saber appeared.
The saber was about a mile long and was red. The flames were raging and the majestic mannerism was accompanied by the power of a raging flame that filled the surroundings. It suddenly burned countless Ancient Trees on the island and turned into nothing.
“Not giving me back my Blood Essence?” the aura of Si Kongyan’s body surged as he shouted.
However, he was only faced with a silent reply as there was no noise coming from the Green Bronze Pagoda.
“Bastard!”
Si Kongyan shouted and asked nothing further. He immediately attacked and violently slashed the Green Bronze Pagoda.
In an instant, a sharp, blinding-red Saber Qi slashed from the top of the sky and violently struck the Green Bronze Pagoda.

The Devil's own sins
Writer updates available for free on patreon. The following account, dear reader, is a recollection and retelling of the story of the first imp. The last devil born from the original primordial pit at the dawn of time, and the lowliest speck of that first generation. It recounts the tale of Thozronnath the pitiful and his steady rise from obscurity, perpetually stuck as a punching bag for his betters until the day hell itself spat him out. The information presented here is pieced together from eye-witness reports and second hand hearsay, sometimes from creatures with more than two hands. I can not tell you with any degree of accuracy how much of it is true as it begins long before our time and it's true ending lies far unto the future still. I can tell you one thing though, it was confusing as hell. Cover: Illustration for John Milton's Paradise Lost by Gustave Doré (1866), a thankfully public domain image. Currently on hiatus.
