Chapter 2041: Shake Off
Su Mo would have puked blood if he knew what An Jian was thinking. His eyes turned towards An Yuan and he shouted, “If you don’t agree, I will kill An Jian now.”
“You…!” An Yuan yelled, his eyes burning with rage. However, there was nothing he could do.
Firstly, Su Mo’s strength seemed to be equal to him. Furthermore, An Jian was in Su Mo’s hands as hostage.
“I said it already. If you allow me to leave, An Jian will return unharmed to your tribe. If you continue to be stubborn, don’t blame me for being vicious!” A killing intent flashed in Su Mo’s eyes.
“Damn it!”
Elder An Yuan was about to go mad from anger. He could only tolerate his hatred as he yelled, “Su Mo, the Dark Shadow Tribe is a superpower under the Sky Tyrant Tribe. If you offend the Dark Shadow Tribe, there is no place for you in Dark Region!”
“I will leave Dark Region. What can you do to me?” Su Mo expressionlessly asked.
“Even if you leave Dark Region, you will not escape death!”
Elder An Yuan continued sternly, “Su Mo, I will give you some advice. Let An Jian go, we can discuss anything!”
“I will also give you some advice. If you continue to chase after me, don’t blame me for being heartless!”
Su Mo was not moved by Elder An Yuan’s threat. He slowly started to move backward.
An Yuan immediately shot forward, trying to chase after Su Mo.
Ah!
All of a sudden, a scream pierced the air.
An Jian’s face contorted with pain, as though he would be killed by Su Mo in the next instant.
“No!” An Yuan shouted desperately. He could not allow anything to happen to An Jian.
“Since you don’t want him to die, heed my advice!”

Su Mo yelled behind him as his body sped off.
“Elder, save me!”
An Jian’s face was pale as he screamed. He was held tightly in Su Mo’s hands and could only beg An Yuan to save him.
However, An Yuan’s face was solemn and he did not dare to make any sudden actions that would agitate Su Mo.
He didn’t dare to take any risk. Su Mo was a vicious man. If he really killed An Jian, Elder An Yuan would regret his actions all his life.
As he stared at Su Mo slowly leaving him, An Yuan did not chase after him.
He knew that with his strength not being hugely superior to Su Mo’s, he would not be able to save An Jian.
“Su Mo, you won’t be able to escape!”
An Yuan’s face turned as hard as steel as he glowered under his breath. With that, he turned and returned to Dark Shadow Tribe.
He had a way to save Su Mo but he needed to head back to the tribe to invite a stronger expert.
…
In the boundless sky, Su Mo remained expressionless as he continued to ly.
He knew that An Yuan had not used the Invisible Technique to chase after him but he had to remain on guard.
“Su… Su Mo, kill me if you want to! I don’t want to be violated!” An Jian’s face turned pale and red at the same time as he gritted his teeth and stuttered.
“Violated?”
Su Mo was confused and he asked curiously, “who said that I wanted to violate you?”
“You… don’t you want to do some perverted thing to me?” An Jian hesitantly asked.
“What perverted thing?
Su Mo’s face instantly turned blank. He was confused by An Jian’s words. What perverted thing would he do?
An Jian sucked in a breath before he asked, “Are you not gay?”

Pst~~
Blood almost spurt out of Su Mo’s mouth. What? How was he gay?
What was the guy thinking? What an incredulous thought!
Su Mo was at a loss for words and he broke out into a sweat.
“It isn’t what you are thinking!” Su Mo shook his head. Without delay, he threw An Jian back into the devouring void.
Even after two days of flying, Su Mo was not attacked.
He temporarily stopped and observed his surroundings carefully in case of a sneak attack by An Yuan.
However, nothing happened even after thirty minutes and Su Mo finally sighed with relief.
He continued forward to fly for another day before he finally stopped.
No sneak attack happened and it seemed confirmed that An Yuan had not followed him.
“He probably didn’t come!”
Su Mo heaved a sigh of relief. However, he would not let his guard down.
With that, he found a star and hid inside a cave.
Once inside the cave, Su Mo entered the Seven-colored Pagoda and left his spiritual consciousness on it.
As long as An Yuan attacked him, Su Mo would be able to counter him.
After two hours of waiting inside the Seven-colored Pagoda, An Yuan was still nowhere to be found and Su Mo finally allowed himself to relax.
In the top floor of the Pagoda.
Su Mo stood up straight and allowed the Devouring Fighting Soul out. Reaching his hand in, he pulled An Jian out of the devouring void.
“Su Mo, what do you want?”
An Jian realized that he was no longer in the starry sky and was afraid of Su Mo attacking him. He screamed wildly and desperately for help.
“You don’t have to be scared!”
Su Mo grabbed An Jian and looked into his eyes as he said, “All I want is your Great Rotating Sacred Sword Fighting Soul!”
“My Great Rotating Sacred Sword Fighting Soul?” A look of confusion crossed An Jian’s face.
With that, he started to become scared and angry at the same time. Did Su Mo want his Fighting Soul? Did Su Mo want to use some special arts to turn him into an evil spirit?
“It isn’t what you think. I want to devour your Fighting Soul!” Su Mo observed An Jian’s fearful look in his eyes and could guess what An Jian was thinking.
“Su Mo, you devil. I hope you die a tragic death!” An Jian suddenly roared as he struggled as hard as he could in Su Mo’s hands. Dark Force surged in his body and he was like a volcano threatening to erupt.
At the same time, An Jian threw a punch at Su Mo.
An Jian was, after all, ranked eighteenth on the King Sage Board and when he was mad, he was a scary foe.
The punch was strong enough to easily shatter a star.
However, under Su Mo’s control, An Jian remained powerless.
With a mental thought, Dark Force shot out of Su Mo’s palm and entered An Jian.
Ah!
An Jian immediately screamed as his body turned uncontrollable. Dark Force couldn’t be exerted from his palm as his body was in turmoil.
“An Jian, don’t be rash. We can discuss this!” Su Mo said in a deep voice.
“What is there to discuss?” An Jian shouted as he desperately tried to control the Dark Force in him.
“Give me the Great Rotating Sacred Sword Fighting Soul and I can give you a few regular Fighting Souls.” Su Mo proposed.
“What do you mean?” An Jian filled with confusion. Fighting Souls were a martial artist’s foundation. It wasn’t a weapon, how could it be borrowed and given away?
Yet, An Jian did not attack Su Mo as he wanted to see what Su Mo was trying to do.

March 16, 2021 - Hiatus note: I will come back to this story! I'm really struggling with it, though. It's been a number of years and I kind of forgot what the original outline was. I still remember the main path, but not any of the details, because I stupidly didn't write an outline. Progress is being made. I'd like a very decent sized buffer before I start posting again. Don't want to get hopes up only to immediately disappoint! ----- Amy Barnes, an aspiring chemical researcher, finds herself dying from cancer. One of her most desperate prayers is answered in a way that she'd never dreamed possible, and she finds herself living a new life as a dungeon. Warning: Violence, morbidity Cover: Taken from here, courtesy of www.pexels.com by photographer @tookapic. Author's Note: I've read some dungeon core stories on here, and they've tickled my fancy. I've thought up a whole story, start to finish, and thought it'd be a blast to put it into words. Other than the violent and morbid aspects, this story is suitable for children. Aside from the vocabulary, that is. I will avoid the temptation to have any cursing, sexuality, or gore. Excessive gore, I suppose - it is a dungeon story, after all. I’ll do a little research from time to time, but this story will not have a great deal of rigor. I’ve made Amy’s knowledge comparable to my own for that reason. There’s a few things she knows more about than I do, and a few things that she knows less about. Unlike me, she doesn’t have access to Google - it’s a non issue for her to be more knowledgeable than me, on occasion :P This story does not use the same magic system that I’ve used in either Sorcery in Boston or A Summoner’s Confession. This one is mostly intention based, and designed to be easier access for people who are more used to the idea of, “It’s magic, therefore it works” kind of thinking. Do note that Amy is, in most senses of the term, overpowered. This goes along with the usual dungeon core stories. She’s not more powerful than other dungeons per se, but she does have knowledge and intelligence that puts them to shame. I thought about doing this in a LitRPG style, but systems take balance, and I wanted this to be pure fun to write. This story was inspired from a few sources. Despite the title, it wasn’t really inspired by Of Mice and Men, though some of the themes match. Rather, I’ve taken inspiration from a few dungeon core novels on Royal Road Legends for the main idea. Many conventions of dungeon core stories have been perverted from the genre, however. I’ve taken my usual science-loving self to town to play around with the powers, and I can only hope you have half as much fun reading this as I have had writing it.
