Chapter 2016: Can I Take Part In The Fight?
“What are the rules for the fight?” Su Mo asked. As long as he could take part in the fight, he had absolute confidence in winning.
Thus, he had to know the rules.
“The fight is held by our sect, Eight-eyes Tribe, and Dark Shadow Tribe. There are a total of four rounds, mainly for the Beginning Realm Martial Sages, Middle Realm Martial Sages, End Realm Martial Sages, and the Great Completion Realm Martial Sages. The party that wins the most number of rounds will emerge as the winner!” Xu Ming explained.
“What if two parties win the same number of rounds?” Su Mo asked again.
“They will compete with each other!” Xu Ming replied.
“I see!” Su Mo said. He realized that he could only participate in one round if he had the opportunity to do so and it was only for the Middle Martial Sage Realm.
“Brother Su, the fight is for the gifted geniuses. Our sect has already selected the candidates and it is not for people like us. I just hope that the gifted geniuses in our sect win!” Xu Ming sighed and stood up.
“Brother Su, if there is nothing else, I will make a move first!” Xu Ming said.
“Brother Xu, please wait a while. Will you be going to watch the fight?” Su Mo asked.
“Of course!” Xu Ming nodded.
“Great. Let’s go and watch together!” Su Mo said with a smile. Although he did not seem able to take part in the fight at that moment, he wanted to see if there would be an opportunity for him to do so in the future.
“Sure. I will leave now!” Xu Ming nodded and did not think much of it. He then left Su Mo’s place.
This is interesting!
After Xu Ming had left, Su Mo smiled wryly. As the most gifted genius in Infinite Region and the most powerful King Sage in the history of Infinite Region, he would definitely be able to win the fight.
He only hoped that he could have an opportunity to take part in the fight.
Shortly, Su Mo started to cultivate in the garret.

Time passed quickly. After more than 20 days, Xu Ming’s voice was heard outside Su Mo’s garrett, saying, “Brother Su, the fight will be held today!”
When Su Mo heard what Xu Ming had said, he quickly ended his cultivation and walked out of his garrett.
Xu Ming was in a brocade robe and he stood outside Su Mo’s garrett with a smile.
“Brother Xu!” Su Mo cupped his fist at Xu Ming.
“Brother Su, we will be leaving with the other Martial Sages one hour later. Come, let’s go to the mountain peak!” Xu Ming said.
“Alright!”
Su Mo nodded and followed Xu Ming to the mountain peak.
There was a large platform on the mountain peak. When Su Mo and Xu Ming reached the mountain peak, there were already more than 30 people waiting there.
“Senior Sister Lin, Senior Brother Wang, Junior Brother Huo…!”
Xu Ming greeted many people and he was especially respectful to one of them by the name of Senior Sister Lin.
Su Mo sized the people up. All of them were youths and their cultivation levels were from the Beginning Martial Sage Realm to the Peak of End Martial Sage Realm. The cultivation level of Senior Sister Lin was at the Peak of End Martial Sage Realm.
Senior Sister Lin was in a long blue dress. She was taller than most men and she had slender legs.
She looked fair and beautiful and she had delicate features.
However, she had a haughty look.
“Junior Brother Xu, is this the Martial Sage who joined our sect recently?”
One of the Middle Realm Martial Sages asked Xu Ming as he looked at Su Mo.
“Yes. His name is Su Mo. He joined our sect one month ago!” Xu Ming nodded. He then introduced Su Mo to the people who were present.
“Nice to meet you!” Su Mo cupped his fist and greeted them.
“Hello!”
“Nice to meet you!”
Many of them greeted Su Mo. Although Su Mo had just joined the sect, he was a Peak Middle Realm Martial Sage and no one dared to look down on him.
“You can be a Foreign Elder. Why did you choose to be a disciple?” Senior Sister Lin asked flatly as she looked at Su Mo.

For the past few years, a few Martial Sages who had joined Wind-thunder Sect had chosen to be Foreign Elders. However, Su Mo had chosen to be an Inner Sect Disciple and that baffled her.
“Senior Sister Lin, as a Foreign Elder, I will remain as a Foreign Elder. However, as a disciple, I can progress and become better!” Su Mo replied with a smile.
“You are ambitious!”
Senior Sister Lin smiled and said, “This fight is a great opportunity for you to widen your horizon. You have cultivated on your own without any big sect to groom you thus, you will see a great disparity in the various aspects!”
“Yes!” Su Mo nodded and did not argue with her.
He stopped chatting and continued to wait for the rest of the disciples to arrive.
After an hour, two people flew over from a nearby mountain and landed on the mountain peak.
One of them was an elder and the other was a young man.
The elder was in sackcloth. He was thin and old in age but he looked energetic.
The young man was in a robe with a white print, and he looked cold and tall.
The two of them were King Sages who were at the Great Completion Martial Sage Realm.
Su Mo sensed that the elder’s cultivation level was not far from the Empty God Realm.
“Greetings, Elder Jiang and Senior Brother Wan!”
When the disciples saw the two of them, they bowed to them. Apparently, the two of them were holding high positions.
“You may dispense with the formalities!”
Elder Jiang waved his hand and looked at the disciples. He nodded when he saw that those who were supposed to be around were already there.
For the fight, they only needed four disciples, each from the Beginning Martial Sage Realm, MiddleMartial Sage Realm, End Martial Sage Realm, and the Great Completion Martial Sage Realm.
The rest of them were there to watch the fight.
When Elder Jiang saw Su Mo, he asked, “Are you the Su Mo who just joined the sect?”
Many of the higher echelons had heard of the Martial Sage who had just joined the Sect.
After all, there were not many Martial Sages in Wind-thunder Sect and the higher echelons were concerned about everyone, including Su Mo, who was not holding a high position.
“Yes, I am!”
Su Mo nodded. After pondering for a while, he asked, “Elder, can I take part in the fight?”
Su Mo had asked Elder Jiang as it was apparent that he was the leader and he could make the decision.
Su Mo had put forth the request as he was worried that Wind-thunder Sect was too weak and they were unable to win the fight.
He would have no worries if he could take part in the fight.
“Do you want to take part in the fight?”
When Elder Jiang heard Su Mo’s request, he was stunned. Xu Ming, Senior Sister Lin, and the rest of the disciples were dumbstruck as well.
They were speechless. The fight is for the geniuses from the various forces. You have cultivated on your own and you have just joined the sect. How dare you request to take part in the fight?
Xu Ming was especially taken aback. He had told Su Mo before that the fight was for geniuses but Su Mo still wanted to mess around.
“You are not fit to take part as you have just joined the sect!”
A cold voice resounded. The one who spoke was the other King Sage by the name of Senior Brother Wan.
“I can’t take part because I have just joined the sect?” Su Mo frowned and looked at Senior Brother Wan. What has the duration of time spent in the sect got to do with the fight?
“This kind of fight is not for people like you!” Senior Brother Wan curled up his lips and sneered.
Even he did not have the confidence in defeating the geniuses from Dark Shadow Tribe and Eight-eyes Tribe. The new disciple was being too presumptuous.
However, he did not lose his cool. He believed that Su Mo was one of those martial artists who had cultivated on his own and he had not seen the world yet.
Su Mo had just joined Wind-thunder Sect and he must be eager to perform so that he would be valued by the sect.

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.

The Bronze Players of Recreation
The world of Creation has seen a recent explosion of what can only be called an adventurer’s culture over the past few decades. People who were once looked at as nothing more than lower class mercenaries rose to the ranks of heroes and legends as adventuring became recognized as an idealized lifestyle of overcoming hardship and finding triumph. With the establishment of a guild-based government system on the continent of Terramania, adventurers were soon legitimized and adventuring became a phenomenon universally accepted around the world. Redlette had retreated from this world to live on Earth for the remainder of her years, having been born and outcast by the gods of Creation. However, upon meeting a friend that she treasured dearly, she found herself longing for a return to her world—she wanted to experience it properly and go on adventures with someone whom she holds dear. Putting a plan into action, she meets with her friend, an awkward, nerdy boy by the username of Herring who she’d only known through years of playing online games with him, and invites him to go on this fantastic adventure with her. An adventure in another world had always been an impossible dream for Herring, but when he suddenly found himself with the opportunity to embark on one, he knew it wouldn’t be as simple as books and shows made it out to be. Redlette was notorious for rushing into things without thinking them through, and he was flighty and weak. In the games they played together, they rarely grasped victory. They were losers through and through, both in hobby and life. Despite this, though, he takes the leap and sets off with Redlette into the world of Creation. Together they only had one goal: to have fun and go on the adventure of their lives. This time, they’d establish a guild of their own and be free to take on whatever exploits their hearts desired. This is the story of the founding of their guild. Author’s Notes: -My writing style is largely based off of the absurd amount of light novels I’ve read and anime I’ve watched, so it may come off as cartoonish or exaggerative at times. If that isn’t your thing, I’d steer clear of this story.-Not an MMO story.-No numerical stats.-Relatively slow pacing.-Posts are between 2000-5000 words weekly after Chapter 1.
