Chapter 1969: Separated
“Leng Xie, I am letting you out to borrow something of yours!” A light smile stretched across Su Mo’s face.
“What thing?” Leng Xie immediately frowned, a suspicious glare passing through his eyes. He felt his hair stand as he looked at the strange smile across Su Mo’s face.
“Haze Body!” Su Mo uttered in a low voice.
“What?” Leng Xie exclaimed in shock as his heart filled with confusion. The Haze Body? What did that mean? Could his Blood Force be borrowed?
Shoosh!
All of a sudden, Su Mo attacked. His finger pointed out and a sharp chaotic finger radiance shot towards Leng Xie.
“Shit!” Leng Xie shouted in surprise. He had not expected Su Mo to attack him suddenly.
Since the two of them were close, no further then two feet apart, Leng Xie found himself defenseless against Su Mo’s attack.
Psst!
The sharp finger radiance shot through Leng Xie’s shoulder, like a bloodied arrow that emerged and disappeared in the mountains behind Leng Xie.
Ah!
A scream escaped Leng Xie’s mouth. Without delay, his body flashed and he tried to escape.
However, before he could go any further, a strong devouring power surrounded his body and caused him to jerk.
Leng Xie’s cultivation rank had not changed in the three years that he was trapped in the devouring void. It was still the Initial Stage of the Martial Sage Realm, the same as Su Mo and hence he was powerless against Su Mo’s devouring power.
Leng Xie was pulled in front of Su Mo, blood pouring out of the fresh shoulder wound before flying towards Su Mo.
“Su Mo, what are you doing?” Leng Xie roared in anger.
Yet, Su Mo disregarded him and continued to devour the Blood Force of Leng Xie.
The speed of devouring was fast and Leng Xie’s body seemed to shrink.
Despite his valiant struggle, the Dark Force in his body surged wildly but he was unable to escape Su Mo’s grasp.
“Die!”
Leng Xie’s eyes filled with rage as he punched at Su Mo without thinking.
Strong fist radiance exploded from his punch.

However, under the devouring power, Leng Xie’s strength could not reach even 20% of his potential so there was no chance of harming Su Mo.
Su Mo casually waved his robe and dispersed the fist radiance of Leng Xie. This caused the radiance to strike against the cave walls, drawing holes in the cave.
With that, Su Mo stopped the Devouring Fighting Soul. Leng Xie’s Blood Force was devoured by him by almost 90% of what it was.
If he continued devouring, Leng Xie’s physical body might just crumble apart.
Qingxuan was not rescued yet and hence, Su Mo could not kill Leng Xie.
“Su Mo, what are you doing?” Leng Xie shivered violently as he held himself up, shaking like a leaf. His face was pale white and he roared out in rage weakly.
His appearance was terrifying. Since a large percentage of the Blood Force in him had been devoured, his entire self appeared to be just skin and bones.
Just as he shouted, his face suddenly changed and his eyes bulged in surprise.
He could clearly feel that the Haze Blood Force in him had almost diminished, and he was left with only about 10% of his original Blood Force.
“How could this be?” Leng Xie screamed in anger. The Blood Force strength was hidden in his bones and Lifeblood. It wouldn’t have followed his blood out of the body.
Yet, his Blood Force had mysteriously disappeared.
“Su Mo you…!” Leng Xie was just about to question Su Mo but he suddenly felt a strong devouring power, much stronger than it had been before, overcome him.
Su Mo was expressionless after he trapped Leng Xie in the devouring void again. Then, he began to refine Leng Xie’s Blood Force.
The Blood Force was invisible and formless but it was hidden in Lifeblood and hence, Su Mo had to extract it.
This process was fast, finished in a few breaths of time.
With that, Su Mo raised his hand and the pure Haze Body Blood Force circulated in his palm.
This Blood Force was like an aura, orange-red in color.
Dark Yin energy circulated around the Blood Force, causing the cave to suddenly turn piercingly cold, as though it was a jail in the underworld.

“Jiang Fengran, this is the Blood Force of the Haze Body, absorb it!” Su Mo threw his hand forward and the orange-red aura flew towards Jiang Fengran.
Jiang Fengran’s eyes instantly brightened as he opened his mouth and sucked in the Blood Force of the Haze Body.
With that, Jiang Fengran closed his eyes and began to refine the Blood Force.
Su Mo left Jiang Fengran alone as he scrutinized the Upper Sacred Class skills that he had gotten.
He had obtained twelve martial skills, two of them wood-based, three fire-based, two ground-based, two water-based and three metal-based martial skills.
Among the twelve martial skills, the fire-based and ground-based ones were not pure. This meant they did not belong to a single class and harbored other energies in them.
For instance, the two water-based martial skills were identical and the three metal-based martial skills were also similar.
This proved that the metal, water, fire and ground-based skills were proper, otherwise they would not have been identical.
Only the sole wood-based skill that was given to him by Di Sen was unverified.
This wood-based skill was called the Immortal Primordial Skill.
Su Mo began to carefully check through the Immortal Primordial Skill. After checking it thoroughly, Su Mo did not find anything wrong with it.
“It should be fine!” Su Mo took in a deep breath. Di Sen wouldn’t have tricked him with the martial skill.
Di Sen could have escaped just now but since he didn’t and gave Su Mo the martial skill, there shouldn’t be anything wrong.
Granted, Su Mo did not dare to be careless as this involved the roots of his cultivation. He prepared to carefully check through each martial skill.
Whew!
Right at that moment, Jiang Fengran opened his mouth and spat out a mouthful of saliva. His eyes were glowing bright.
“How is it?” Su Mo smiled as he asked.
“This Blood Force has entered my body and merged with the wind-based Blood Force in it!” Jiang Fengran said in an emotional voice.
From this day on, he was not only a Quadruplet Fighting Soul martial artist, he also had two Blood Forces.
He could become a Martial Sage very soon and once he was a sage, he would be famous throughout the Infinite Region.
“Very good. Your talents and strength will increase by another notch!” Su Mo smiled. Although Jiang Fengran’s practiced cultivation was not compatible with the Haze Body, his talents would still increase with this move.
“Mm!” Jiang Fengran nodded his head heavily, his heart full.
Suddenly, Jiang Fengran burst into laughter “Palace Master, if Si Kongyan knows that you can merge Blood Force for him, he will impatiently rush to find you!”
He thought of Si Kongyan. Si Kongyan wanted Su Mo to give him more Fighting Souls.
“The next time I see him, I will give him a Blood Force!” Su Mo nodded.
However, who could know that at that moment, Si Kongyan was at Firmament Sect on Star Guzhou, waiting valiantly for Su Mo.
Si Kongyan, who was now a Martial Sage, had defeated numerous geniuses in a row and urgently returned to Star Guzhou.
That was because he wanted Su Mo to give him a fifth Fighting Soul.
He knew that the more Fighting Souls he had, the more beneficial it was for him.
As such, Si Kongyan had said that he had gone out to train but he had actually returned to Firmament Sect.
He wanted to be the first to get the fifth Fighting Soul, for his talents and strength to be the best among the Nine Palace Masters, even better than Long Teng.
However, Si Kongyan would have to pull his hair out in frustration because he would not be able to see Su Mo in the short run.
After Su Mo had talked with Jiang Fengran for a while longer, they separated.
Jiang Fengran left. He would not return to Levitation God Sect and would not follow Su Mo. Instead he would go out and train and return to Star Guzhou.
Once he returned to Star Guzhou, he would be a Martial Sage.

Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have.
