Chapter 1944: Odd
“Am I alone not enough to do the exchange with you?”
Yin Shen lightly replied. His eyes narrowed before he asked, “Where is Leng Xie?”
He had not caught sight of Leng Xie and his heart couldn’t help falling in disappointment. It seemed that Su Mo was careful.
“Let me take Yun Youyou away and I will let Leng Xie off!” The avatar rose and spoke in a loud voice. He would not hand Leng Xie over, or he wouldn’t be able to take Qingxuan away.
“Su Mo, do you think I am a three year old? What if you go against your words after letting Yun Youyou off?” Yin Shen coldly said. He did not attack because he could see from a glance that Elder Zhen Yue was not Su Mo. Su Mo’s Spiritual Souls weren’t in the physical body in front of him.
This physical body must be an avatar that Su Mo made.
As such, Yin Shen did not attack. Even if he killed the avatar, it was no use.
“Rest assured, I am not willing to kill Leng Xie and become complete enemies with the Sun Moon Tribe!” The avatar assured in a low voice.
If he could really rescue Qingxuan, Su Mo really wouldn’t kill Leng Xie. There was no reason for him to become complete enemies with the Sun Moon Tribe.
“Stop spouting nonsense. I want to see Leng Xie, or you won’t be able to take Yun Youyou away!” Yin Shen expressionlessly said.
The eyebrows of the avatar slowly etched together. Su Mo had thought of this problem before and hence he wasn’t too surprised.
“Brother Su Mo…!” Right at that point, Yun Youyou lightly called out and made an attempt to fly towards Su Mo. Yet, Yin Shen reached out a hand and grabbed her arm, preventing her from struggling out of his grasp.
“Tribe Leader Yin Shen, I am sure you know how important Leng Xie is. Today, I can swear that if I am unable to take Yun Youyou away, Leng Xie will definitely die!” The avatar threatened in a loud voice.

“Are you threatening me?” Yin Shen expressionlessly questioned as killing intent boiled in his eyes. It had been many years since anyone had threatened him.
Yet, an ant was daring enough to threaten him now.
“You can think so. I believe you can see already that the person in front of you now is my avatar. My real body has left Ming Xu Galaxy and even if you kill this avatar, it will be useless!” The avatar continued in a loud and fearless voice.
Yin Shen fell silent. He itched to attack straight away and kill the avatar in front of him.
However, he didn’t want to fall into a mousetrap and hence held his urge back.
Su Mo’s real body wasn’t there and neither was Leng Xie’s. Even if Yin Shen had a godly power, there was nothing that he could do.
“Su Mo, you are very clever, but why should I believe you?” Yin Shen asked.
“You have to believe me!” The avatar muttered in a deep voice, Yin Shen had no other choice left.
After a long moment of silence, the long fingers of Yin Shen danced in the space and wrote out a complicated seal that he directed at Yun Youyou’s body.
Yun Youyou’s body shook slightly and she glanced at Yin Shen with confused eyes, “Tribe Leader, what is this?”
Yin Shen did not reply to Yun Youyou’s question. Instead, he stared at Su Mo and said, “Su Mo, I have entered a seal in her body and this will seal her Blood Force strength. Aside from me, no one else in the world can resolve the seal. I will hand her over to you now. If Leng Xie does not return to the Sun Moon Tribe, she will never be able to break out of the seal in her lifetime. If Leng Xie returns safely, the seal on her will naturally disappear!”
In Leng Xie’s opinion, Su Mo wanted to take Yun Youyou for his greed over the Origin Yin in the Pure Yin Body. As such, his actions prevented Su Mo from harming Leng Xie.

“Oh?” The avatar’s eyes instantly narrowed. Yin Shen’s actions did lower the risk in the exchange.
However, he had never imagined that Yin Shen would settle the matter so quickly.
Nonetheless, it was a good outcome for him.
“Alright, I will make sure Leng Xie returns safely to the Sun Moon Tribe!” Su Mo nodded his head heavily.
“Mm!” Yin Shen lightly acknowledged as he loosened his grip over Yun Youyou.
Shoosh!
With that, Yun Youyou immediately flew towards Su Mo and arrived beside him.
“Qingxuan, are you alright?” The avatar’s eyes surveyed Yun Youyou and his heart relaxed slightly. Things had gone smoothly so far.
“Brother Su Mo, I am fine!” Yun Youyou shook her head.
“Alright, let’s go!” The avatar nodded his head as he threw a final glance to Yin Shen. Thereafter, he held Yun Youyou’s hand and took off into the distance, instantly disappearing.
As he stared at Su Mo’s back, a cold flash of light passed through Yin Shen’s eyes, hiding a sneer behind them.
…
The avatar brought Yun Youyou into the starry sky and they sped through the air,.
He wasn’t headed to the star where the True Sage World was located but instead, he headed in the direction of Ah Mi Galaxy.
That was because Su Mo couldn’t confirm whether Yin Shen or any other expert of the Sun Moon Tribe was following him. Hence, he didn’t return to the True Sage World immediately.
With Yin Shen’s abilities, he could rush into the True Sage World and kill him the moment he unlocked the True Sage World.
As such, he headed towards Ah Mi Galaxy’s Xu Mi Spiritual Mountain first.
“Qingxuan, how have you been doing in Sun Moon Tribe?” The avatar glanced at Yun Youyou and asked.
“I was locked up by my teacher!” Yun Youyou’s face was dark as she sighed.
“Is that so? How did Jin Yang lock you up?” The avatar’s eyes narrowed as he asked.
In actual fact, he didn’t trust the Yun Youyou in front of him now as there were many odd points about the situation.
Firstly, he had not expected that Yin Shen would agree to the terms of the exchange so quickly.
Secondly, Yun Youyou’s attitude was very different from what it had been previously.
Yun Youyou had yet to regain her memories and she could not be considered Qingxuan. She had always maintained a slight distance from Su Mo.
However, her attitude now was odd as she appeared too close to Su Mo. This made the avatar suspicious.
Su Mo was being very careful. Before he allowed the avatar to do the exchange, he had thought through many possibilities and tricks that the Sun Moon Tribe could resort to.
As such, he would not easily believe that Yun Youyou was in front of him because the lady might not be the real Yun Youyou.
In other words, the Yun Youyou flying with him now could be fake.
Granted, this was only a possibility and Su Mo needed to test his theory.
After all, the aura and appearance of the person with him now were exactly the same as Yun Youyou’s.
“I was locked in a Spatial Device by my teacher. I never imagined that he would do that to me!” Yun Youyou sighed with a dark face.
“I see!” The avatar nodded his head.
“Brother Su Mo, where are we headed?” Yun Youyou asked.
“We will go wherever we go!” Su Mo replied.
“Then are we not going to meet with your real body?” Yun Youyou asked hesitantly.
“Not yet!” The avatar’s eyes shone brightly as he shook his head. He had a suspicion in his heart.
Yun Youyou was being different from her usual self. She actually didn’t ask what his reasons for his actions were, but asked where his real body was.
With a silent thought, the avatar smiled and said, “Qingxuan, I have already found the Ancient Dream Grass, you can regain your memories already!”

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.
