Chapter 1940: What Treasure
Time flew by continuously and Su Mo allowed his Spiritual Consciousness to occasionally drift towards Zhen Hua Sacred Sect.
However, he didn’t infiltrate the Sacred Sect as he was afraid he would be discovered by an expert in it.
Groups of experts would stream into Zhen Hua Sacred Sect frequently, but Su Mo did not spot any sign of Leng Xie.
“He is here!”
A while later, Su Mo exclaimed in glee. He had discovered Leng xie with his spiritual consciousness.
From what he could sense, 3 people had entered the sect, one of them being Leng Xie.
Su Mo was familiar with one of the companions beside Leng Xie, it was Yin Wudao.
As for the last person, his aura was dense and thick, evidently achieving a higher cultivation rank than Leng Xie and Yin Wudao. He was an End Realm Martial Sage.
“Heaven is helping me!”
At that point, Su Mo’s eyes were shining brilliantly. A glare passed through his eyes like a sharp sword that pierced through the empty space.
Heaven really was helping him as no King Sage accompanied Leng Xie. His opportunity had arrived.
Su Mo could also see that Leng Xie had become a sage.
However, even if Leng Xie was a Martial Sage, Su Mo would not worry too much about him. Su Mo had to pay attention to Yin Wudao and the End Realm Martial Sage behind him.
Su Mo knew how strong Yin Wudao was. After all, they had exchanged blows previously. It seemed that the End Realm Martial Sage would be much stronger than Yin Wudao.
As such, he had to capture Leng Xie at the fastest possible speed with the two others protecting him.
Although this was hard, Su Mo wasn’t fazed by it.
A few moments later, Su Mo continued to circulate the Dark Force in him, familiarizing himself with the new physical body.
Time flew by quickly and the second day quickly arrived.

In the afternoon, Leng Xie and the 2 others prepared to leave Zhen Hua Sacred Sect.
Su Mo had been keeping a keen eye on them and the moment the group left the sect, he went out of his hiding place and chased after the 3.
Once Leng Xie and the 2 left Zhen Hua Sacred Sect, they flew towards a Teleportation Array and used it to teleport away.
Su Mo followed closely behind. Not long after the 3 people left, he used another teleportation array to follow after them.
They needed to transfer through 4 teleportation arrays to head to Sun Moon Star and Su Mo wasn’t worried as he chased after them.
After 2 teleportation formation transfers, Leng Xie and the group headed towards the third one. Su Mo was ready to strike by then.
Shoosh!
Without any further delay, he increased his speed and zipped through the air towards the 3.
In a single breath, he had brought the distance between him and the others to 10 kilometers.
“Hm?”
The 3 Sun Moon Tribe members instantly sensed someone chasing after them, so they whipped their heads around to check.
Leng Xie was an Initial Stage Martial Sage by then and he had just became the official Young Clan Leader, yet his aura showed that he had the most authority in the group.
A long dragon robe was donned on him and he wore a golden crowd on his head.
“Isn’t this Elder Zhen Yue?”
The End Realm Martial Sage was a middle-aged man who wore a purple robe. He had a long face and was tall and skinny. As he spotted Su Mo chasing after him, he exclaimed in confusion.
He recognized Elder Zhen Yue as they had met previously.
Shoosh!
With ‘Elder Zhen Yue’ chasing after them, the 3 Sun Moon Tribe members simultaneously stopped at their spots and turned around to face the elder.
In the blink of an eye, Su Mo stopped a few kilometers away from the 3 as a light smile stretched across his face.

“Elder Zhen Yue, why are you here?” The purple-robed middle-aged man asked.
“I am looking for Young Clan Leader!”‘Elder Zhen Yue’ respectfully cupped his fists towards Leng Xie.
Since the three did not know his identity, things would be simpler for him.
“What is it?” Leng Xie held his arms behind his back as he wore a proud look on his face.
As the Young Clan Leader who would become the future leader of the Sun Moon Tribe, he was a powerful character in Ming Xu Galaxy and had to maintain his authority.
Yin Wudao remained expressionless as he stared at Su Mo’s eyes. Yet, a hint of displeasure was concealed. He naturally knew who Elder Zhen Yue was and what kind of a person he was.
Su Mo sneered in his heart. Leng Xie had only been the Young Clan Leader for a few months but was already acting so arrogantly.
“Young Clan Leader, I have a gift for you!” Su Mo maintained his smile. He did not rush to take action as he wanted to do so only when the 3 were less guarded.
“Oh?”
Leng Xie’s eyebrows were raised in surprise. Before he asked what the elder had given him, his voice deepened and he asked. “What request do you have?”
Leng Xie wasn’t dumb. If the elder had voluntarily given him a gift, the elder must have a request for him to grant.
“Young Clan Leader, I am an elder already. I wonder if you will allow me to enter the Sun Moon Tribe now?” Su Mo asked with a deep voice.
“Enter the Sun Moon Tribe?”
Leng Xie seemed hesitant and he said, “You are a Middle Realm Martial Sage already. If you want to enter my tribe, my master must personally agree to it. How about I say a few nice words in front of him for you? There should be not much of a problem!”
It wasn’t an easy deal for a Martial Sage to enter the Sun Moon Tribe.
After all, the objectives of an outsider might not be pure since he had not grown up in the tribe. As such, Yin Shen had to agree personally to it.
“Thank you, Young Clan Leader!”
Su Mo quickly broke into all smiles as he heard Leng Xie’s reply. Thereafter, he flipped over his palm and took out a storage ring.
“Young Clan Leader, there is a valuable treasure inside this storage ring!” Su Mo brought the ring forward to Leng Xie slowly as he forced out a reluctant expression.
“Oh? What treasure is it?” Leng Xie’s eyes brightened. If something was considered a valuable treasure for Elder Zhen Yue, it must be something good and this made Leng Xie highly curious.
Yin Wudao and the purple-robed, middle-aged man was also curious. What treasure could make the elder so reluctant?
“This treasure was obtained in the Black Death galaxy and it has exceptional capabilities!” Su Mo told the lies easily as he slowly walked closer and closer to Leng Xie. The distance between them was less than 500 meters.
“Ha ha, Elder Zhen Yue, it is rare for you to put so much effort into it. What treasure is it?” Leng Xie laughed before his body jerked and he flew towards Su Mo.
“Now!” Su Mo’s eyes flashed with glee. Without hesitation, he rushed out to unleash an attack.
A large black shadow rose from his back as the Devouring Fighting Soul emerged.
As the large devouring void hovered in the air, it appeared to be a large black hole in space. Strong devouring power instantly emerged and surrounded Leng Xie.
“What… you are Su Mo?” Leng Xie first jumped in shock. His body jerked violently and his face fell as he felt the immense devouring force on him. He immediately recognized Su Mo’s identity.

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

Clearly, there must be some dark secret behind the success of these newcomers, and it’s up to the city’s true artists to find out what it is and expose the conspiracy! An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
