Chapter 1883: Virtual Reality

Swish!

A shrill sound broke the silence. A huge and long whip suddenly appeared from within the thick forest and moved swiftly towards Su Mo.

Su Mo froze his gaze. The long whip was an awesomely thick vine, filled with barbs. The barbs were like dense cold lights.

“Dream realm?”

Su Mo speculated. However, he was unsure, and he delivered a blow immediately.

The shiny light on the sword glittered, the mighty sword power was released, a sharp Chaos Sword Qi struck out, and cut through the vine.

Snip snip!

The vine was cut instantly and its green sap spurted out like green blood and filled the firmament.

Ji ji!

A weird cry was heard beneath the thick forest. At the same time, the vine retracted into the thick jungle and vanished immediately.

“It’s not a dream realm!” Su Mo’s heart sank. This place was at times real, at times virtual. Not every experience was a dream.

He continued with the journey, he became more cautious. While he was flying, he was searching for Ancient Dream Grass.

It was a huge world, despite the fact that he had been flying for fifteen minutes, his search was fruitless.

In the meantime, there were a few others who joined in the search. However, no conflict had been stirred up. They were merely conducting a carpet search.

“Roar!”

At the same time, a ferocious scream shook the Firmament, a gigantic black python soared into the sky and moved in Su Mo’s direction to strike an attack.

The huge python exceeded a hundred yards, its black scales shimmering in the cold light, and filled the air with ferocity.

“Rank 8 Martial Honored Realm!” Su Mo examined carefully, this huge python was as strong as he was.

“Roar!”

Another scream. The giant python got close to Su Mo, opened his large mouth, and a group of demon powers attacked Su Mo.

A ferocious spirit was sent out to confuse all directions. An evil power crumbled the space, the ground cracked and a thunderous rumble was heard.

“No fear of dying!” Su Mo was fearless, he struck out with his sword and the Sword Qi shot highly to the sky. In a quick flash, he devastated the demon spirit. The latter transformed into a turbulent wave and swept in all directions, bringing destruction to the entire jungle.

At this point, massive solidification took place, the process exceeded ten times that of the outside world. That minimised the destruction that could be brought about by the warriors.

The vigorous Sword Qi hit the python and the giant was slashed into pieces. Its voluminous blood splashed like a towering fountain.

However, in the next instant, everything vanished entirely. The devastated pieces of the giant python, the surging fountain of its blood, all had eerily disappeared.

“Oh? Another dream realm?” Su Mo frowned and examined the surroundings. Everywhere appeared normal, there were no visible signs of battle.

This phenomenon brought a realisation that the monstrous python was a dream realm, it could perhaps be the dream demon which Ye San Niang had told them about.

Nonetheless, he had fought. Now it felt like it had not been involved in any combat.

Could it be that his earlier shots were all done in the dream realm? Had he not made any strikes?

Phew!

Su Mo heaved a sigh. He was perplexed, he concluded that he should not brood over whether the experience was a dream realm.

Being in a dream realm was a trivial issue. There would always be a solution to a problem, he should take things one step at a time.

He continued his journey and flew around for some time. He saw a mountain in the distance. The mammoth mountain stood tall between the sky and the grounds.

This was no ordinary mountain. It was shrouded with majestic mind power, as if it was looming in the thick fog, which allowed the mountain to appear mysterious.

Swish!

Without a flickering thought, Su Mo flew towards the mountain. He thought that this was no ordinary mountain, he hoped to be able to locate the Ancient Dream Grass.

He also discovered that there were more than ten warriors on the mountain, hence it would be highly possible that the mountain bore priceless treasures.

Between two breaths, Su Mo landed on the mountain peak and scrutinised the surroundings.

There used to be constructed roads as one reached the mountain top. However with the passing years, these roads had been weathered and were heavily obscured by lush vegetation.

Su Mo scanned the surroundings with his spiritual senses. They were blocked by the thick growth and his investigation was futile.

“This place was uninhabitated, and yet a strong mind power prevailed!” Su Mo was alarmed. The Ancient Dream Forbidden Land had been in existence for the longest time, even the Ancient Dream Buddha had departed, yet such mind power was imperishable.

There were several powerful men on the mountain top who were either searching slowly or standing still on the mountain.

Gao Haoran, Baili Liqing, Fan Yunsheng and the lady in a purple outfit, Zi Man, all had reached the peak.

The four people stood still near the foot of the mountain. Their eyes were sluggish, as if they went into a dream realm.

Su Mo muttered briefly and flew towards the foursome. He could ignore Fan Yunsheng and Zi Man, however he had to attend to Baili Liqing and Gao Haoran, as the duo were disciples of the Myriad Worlds Mountain.

Despite Gao Haoran’s questionable character, he did not harbour any grudge towards him.

However, when Su Mo glided past the mountain peak, he immediately felt an invisible force being laden on his body. He could not soar and kept descending .He fell to the foot of the mountain.

“I could not fly to the top!” Su Mo was disturbed, he now realised the reason those people were searching on the mountain top.

He resigned himself and walked up the mountain. He passed through the thick vegetation and approached Baili Liqing and his team.

There was no imminent danger and he arrived in front of them quickly.

He watched the four men carefully, they were like fossilis, and he wondered if they were trapped in a dream realm of some sort.

Su Mo tried to revive Baili Liqing by patting his shoulders. The latter was unresponsive and did not display signs of being present.

“Yes?” in this instant, Su Mo’s eyes lit up, as he had made a discovery. The four men’s appearances were slowly making a change.

Their skin aged gradually, they were young people and, in a matter of minutes, their wrinkles developed and became middle-aged.

Zi Man, the lady in pretty purple attire, had been very pretty and young, and her skin soft and immaculate. She had turned into a middle-aged woman.

“What is happening ?” Su Mo was terrified and he thought about what Ye San Niang had told him.

One could spend his entire lifetime in the dream and run out of life while in it!

Sigh!

Su Mo was mortified and he sucked in a breath of cold air. What one experienced in the dream realm could affect the physical body.

His mindfulness returned, if he could not save these few people, the four would run out of life and became fossilised in a matter of a few breaths. Time was running out!

But, what could he do to save these lives?
