Chapter 1753: The First Opponent
Whoosh!
Su Mo rode through the grassy plains on the green-eyed tiger as the wind blew past his ears. In half a day, they had already travelled a kilometer.
The speed of the green-eyed tiger was fast, much faster than what he could achieve as a Rank 1 Qi Cultivation Realm martial artists.
“Green-eyed tiger, over there!” Su Mo pointed in a direction for the green-eyed tiger. A small black dot appeared in the distance and Su Mo guessed that that would be a building of a small town.
Roar!
The green-eyed tiger roared lightly as it sped up. It had been beaten mercilessly and hence had to succumb to Su Mo’s commands.
“Hm?”
Right at that moment, Su Mo’s eyes brightened as he retrieved the jade pendant that he had.
A small green dot appeared on the jade pendant.
“Other geniuses!” Su Mo exclaimed with glee. He had finally found other geniuses that he could challenge.
That man was rather far from him and he had just entered the 10 kilometer radius that the jade pendant allowed him to sense.
Without hesitation, Su Mo pointed the green-eyed tiger in the new direction and it pounced towards the green speck of light on Su Mo’s jade pendant.
At the same time, Su Mo discovered that the green speck of light that was on his jade pendant was slowly heading towards him.
“Interesting!” Su Mo laughed lightly and he stood up straight on the green-eyed tiger as his face darkened.
That man could be the same cultivation rank as him, a Rank 1 Qi Cultivation Realm martial artist. After all, it had not been long since the group had entered Kunyun Small World.
Granted, Su Mo’s target could have recovered a cultivation realm, but the likelihood of that was low.
As such, Su Mo carefully looked at the spec of light on his jade pendant and he found that his opponent’s speed was much slower than his.
This probably meant that his opponent had not recovered a cultivation realm and he must still be a Rank 1 Qi Cultivation Realm martial artist.

“He shouldn’t be luring me over purposely, right!?” Su Mo’s eyes suddenly flashed as he thought of a possibility.
It was also possible that the man had become a Rank 1 Spiritual Martial and purposely slowed down in case Su Mo ran off, afraid of confronting him.
“I hope my luck isn’t that bad!”
Su Mo sighed deeply. No matter what, he had to confront his opponent as his current cultivation rank was too low and he had no chance of fighting. He had to raise his cultivation rank as fast as possible.
However, there was only that man around him within the 10 kilometer sensing radius of the jade pendant.
The longer time dragged on, the more of a disadvantage Su Mo would be at as others would be raising their cultivation ranks.
Su Mo calculated. At their current distance and speed, they would need, at most, 2 days to meet each other.
“Green-eyed tiger, hurry up!” Su Mo ordered as he whipped the green-eyed tiger’s butt.
Shoosh!
Pain shot through the green-eyed tiger and it immediately rushed forward.
Just like that, Su Mo rode the green-eyed tiger and chased after the green speck of light on his jade pendant. When he discovered a forest which was inhabited by demonic beasts, he would detour around it, in case he encountered the attack of a strong wild beast.
Two days passed by very quickly and the green-eyed tiger was exhausted. It lay on the ground and could not stand up anymore.
Huff! Huff!!
The green-eyed tiger panted heavily as saliva dripped from the corners of its mouth, it was no longer able to run.
At that, Su Mo was at a loss for words. The green-eyed tiger was too low-ranked and it was drained of energy after running for 2 days.
Su Mo actually wanted to reward the green-eyed tiger, but he didn’t dare to retrieve any of his treasured items, lest it be considered a breaking of rules.
“I will give you one strand of hair!”

Su Mo plucked a strand of his hair and shoved it into the green-eyed tiger’s mouth before he whipped around and flew off.
Although it was just a strand of hair, it encompassed the Spiritual Qi of a Rank 7 Martial Honorable and it was enough to reward the green-eyed tiger for its efforts.
What Su Mo didn’t know was that his actions would give birth to a terribly strong tiger beast in these plains a few days later.
Shoosh!
Su Mo quickly ran towards his opponent with his jade pendant in hand. They were less than 2 kilometers apart.
“Hm? He actually stopped moving!”
Su Mo glanced at the jade pendant and frowned. The green speck of light that had indicated his opponent’s location had stopped.
Was his opponent prepared to ambush him?
Su Mo pondered. However, Su Mo had no reason to fear anything as long as his opponent did not raise his cultivation rank.
As such, Su Mo continued on his way without stopping. Along the way, he discovered the corpse of a demonic beast.
This demonic beast’s corpse was large and its skeleton was about 10 feet long. Sharp teeth that were each about 3 feet long lined its mouth like individual knives.
Su Mo immediately plucked the teeth off from the demonic beast’s corpse. The 3 foot long teeth were dark and black, and could temporarily be used as a weapon.
Once he kept the teeth, Su Mo continued to run. He only slowed down after one full day of sprinting.
By now, he was about 20 feet from his opponent.
Su Mo looked ahead of himself and discovered a small town about 50 meters away.
However, his opponent was not in the town but was located nearer to him, outside the town.
Carefully observing his surroundings, Su Mo found some wild grass growing wildly about 10 meters in front of him. His opponent must be hiding in the tall grass, waiting for him.
Shoosh!
Without stopping, Su Mo gauged his opponent’s location through the jade pendant.
The distance between the two was pulled closer and closer!
10 meters!
8 meters!
5 meters!
Su Mo slowed down slightly and heightened his senses. If his opponent was a Spiritual Martial, he would immediately run away.
2 meters!
1 meter!
Very quickly, the distance between Su Mo and his opponent was shortened to 1 meter.
“I have waited very long for you!”
Right at that moment, a thick, hoarse voice rose up. The man was fully confident.
Su Mo immediately stopped and glanced at his surroundings. Since his spiritual senses could not be released from his body and his eyesight had weakened, Su Mo was unable to locate his opponent in the tall grass.
He became extra cautious. His opponent had waited for him for a very long time at that location and he must have made extra preparations.
Step! Step! Step!
A few moments later, Su Mo heard light footsteps approaching him. His opponent was getting closer to him.
Finally, a shadow appeared in front of him after a few breaths of time.
Clad in a black shirt, this man was tall and had a dark face. Ghost Qi radiated in waves out of the man.
“A person from the Sacred Devil Hall?” Su Mo’s eyes immediately brightened. He had observed a few groups of geniuses who were attending the Sky Dragon Contest and hence, he knew that his opponent was a member of the Sacred Devil Hall.
The Sacred Devil Hall was a major superpower that was about as powerful as the Triple Deities Sect. It had an Empty God in the sect.
“Su Mo!”
At the same time, the black-shirted young man from Sacred Devil Hall exclaimed in surprise upon getting a closer look at Su Mo’s face.
He had not expected that his first opponent would be the famous Su Mo, who was well known throughout the entire Ancientspirit Galaxy.

Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
